Obviously Sonni was already in heavy story before the strike but I do wonder if how much the show had to rely on that mess (and on Michelle Forbes' talent) during the strike helped make her even more prominent. I also wonder how fans felt about her at the time. (we know how Kim Zimmer felt...)

Pretty much no one posts here in recent years, although that is probably for the best in this case, as you likely would have seen some racist commentary in the days when more did come here.

Thanks. I'll never forget that Michael Logan interview where Wyndham laid into him for criticizing her work in the story, essentially telling him she had no other options but to ham it up.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
This isn't actually Real Housewives but it did make me laugh (which is rare for SNL...).

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
I have a feeling that her son is going to turn out to be the man who blackmailed/harassed Tracy, and the story will have her helping his daughter, a Liv knockoff. And it will upset Tracy, since everything has to be about her. Victoria having a child would be nice, but the show does nothing with Robert having a child. They just don't care about the Sugdens. They really haven't for 20 years.

Of course. Of course... I saw that Mission Accomplished thing and I had to remind myself we aren't in some kind of Armando Iannucci comedy. Where the [!@#$%^&*] are we? I don't even want to know where we're going.

I still wonder if he deliberately tipped Putin off nearly a week ahead of time. Like people have said, anything that he was going after will already be moved by now.

I don't mean to say anything about anyone in this thread, this is more about people at large, but I can't help judging anyone who actually buys Comey's book after what he did to Hillary and the country at large.

The guy in the One a Day ad is so familiar to me. I thought Don Murray but surely he wasn't doing vitamin ads at this point? @slick jones @SoapDope @vetsoapfan @Paul Raven or anyone who has a good eye. (was the son the boy on Alice?)

It won't. It's very naive. I don't believe Republicans in Congress will do anything about this.

My point wasn't that people can't like all three and more that a lot of people tend to just focus on the few watercooler Netflix shows and not the rest, including a lot of people who would probably enjoy ODAAT if they ever watched. But I don't think the latter will ever be a watercooler type show so I'm mostly just happy they have managed to get three seasons.

@Vee I read the Paul Ryan piece that is from, I think (at Politico). It read like a very long press statement from Ryan supporters, although it was well-written, at least, as most Politico pieces are (I say most because they recently had an embarrassing "Republicans will win because a Planned Parenthood chapter tweeted that a Disney princess should have an abortion!!!" article from ex-CNN shill Jeff Greenfield).

I think Ellen Wheeler was the best Marley, but I think Anne Heche's Marley was very good in that last year. IIRC, Heche fought for Marley, and was the reason why they ditched that awful wig and Marley became a more rounded character once she split with Jake and all her stories stopped revolving around her womb. I also thought she did a pretty good job at Vicky playing Marley in that last year.

The sneering tone toward ODAAT in that article is offputting, if not surprising, given that CNN is a right wing network which has only feinted toward a liberal view after Trump put a foot in Jeff Zucker's ass. You don't have to be bilingual to understand all the jokes on the show (if you did I wouldn't be bothered, but you don't), and political topics are discussed briefly. And that he thinks talking about depression is also a sign of liberalism speaks volumes about his worldview. It's questionable to compare Netflix to a broadcast television network. With that said, he's right - a lot of the people who claim to be progressive would rather just talk about the same handful of shows over and over again on Netflix, like Stranger Things or The Crown, and talk about how much they hate Fuller House, rather than support ODAAT. But it is what it is. I do think that some liberals have used Roseanne as a cudgel in ways that hurt their cause more than help - like that Slate person (although what do you expect from Slate) who ranted about the show having a boy who dresses in girl's clothes but still identifies as a boy. I also skimmed through some gushy piece somewhere about how you need to avoid Roseanne and watch Queer Eye and Queer Eye is everything you should ever want and blah blah blah blah, when Queer Eye is essentially just tokens living vicariously through straight people, for straight viewers. I think it's a fine show, and I watched it sometimes the first time around, but if Roseanne had gay men who popped up just to tell straight people how to dress and what to cook, it would be blasted to pieces. I have no real desire to watch the revival (although I might watch the ones that talk about Mark) but I think a lot of the people who claim to hate it the most are secretly gleeful at its success, because it means they get on their high horses. The same high horses that rode roughshod in 2016 and helped get us where we are now.
