  1. A few episodes of the short-lived game show Musical Chairs which featured David James Carroll, taken from us too soon. He was the teacher who had a connection with Karen in a season 1 episode. (he was also briefly on AW as Marley's fertility specialist). Musical Chairs, Ep. 51 (~August 26, 1975)
  2. Very true. Lucas paired with Brad in offcameraland, if even that. I'm surprised at the crumbs he's even had.
  3. You write it out so well here - as you said, this could have gone on for years and affected many complex relationships. Even if he did they could have continued the story once JJ was gone. I think they got spooked by the election and the backlash in culture more than anything.
  4. A Ben/Holly fling would have been interesting and definitely got tongues wagging. More than Beth/Bill ever did.
  5. There was no real reason to age Liz's son that much. They just seemed to panic after making the character gay. Then they wrote him out for good measure.
  6. RIP Charles C. Stevenson (he was on Knots and DAYS per IMDB). https://deadline.com/2026/02/charles-c-stevenson-dies-95-1236710858/
  7. Robert Lupone was a delight as Leo. I always looked forward to seeing him. GL lost something when those recurrers were phased out.
  8. Thanks. I wonder which man wrote that. The only thing missing is them having sex but her giving him his money back. The timelines are confusing to me as that would mean Mrs. Lemay had been dead over a year and a half before Susan arrived in Springfield. For some reason I thought she'd died later than that.
  9. Thanks again @alwaysAMC I had some memories of the Jim and Cassie test, but I did NOT remember that they met in a strip club. I wonder how his wife felt about that... I hope you weren't spoiled about Holly's current story, one of the most insane ever on GL, but grounded by the one and only Maureen Garrett.
  10. That's very true. I hope that some of them stick around, unlikely as it may be.
  11. Llanview's always waiting so take all the time you need.
  12. I was watching a clip from a few days ago where Chase was being judgmental and, frankly, bitchy to not only Tracy, but Gio, about Tracy getting her family belongings back. I liked that when Chase tried to chide him over acting like a Quartermaine, Gio briefly paused and then proudly accepted that mantle. Chase even seemed to be in darker colors than he sometimes wears as if to signify his shift. After living through certain decades of the show, it's still surreal to see a young Q accepting the family label and baggage, and someone who is critical of them for that being painted as in the wrong. (Chase questioning Jason's parenting skills is another black mark, albeit a very funny one)
  13. Thanks @Reverend Ruthledge Everyone involved in Chuckie's upbringing seems to have been a disaster. He never had a chance. I still think killing him off was a mistake in the long run, especially as he would have been a real contrast to Mike and Ed as he aged, given how frail and sensitive he was. I imagine that Bert would have been a headache for him, and maybe they could have grown closer as she thawed in the late '60s. Mama dying hours after Bert and Bill married - not a great omen for their marriage. Glad to know a little more about the conflict between Trudy and Meta, although Trudy comes across to me as a brat. I imagine that little sisters out there sympathized with her over Meta though. I wondered if Matthews was the last reverend on GL before they phase them out, but I see we have at least one more.
  14. I don't really put that on Fletcher. Until the show decided to say that being sexually abused makes you a serial killer, the worst to say about Ben was being a cad.
  15. I was just saying yesterday that I try to pretend Patty's returns never happened. No matter how much some in the soap press tried to hype the umpteenth Sheffer/MAB histrionics, I thought it was unwatchable. So now here we are again - and somehow, she is the last representation of the Williams family on Y&R. How sad. The only thing that would interest me is a redemption story, but she's more likely to just terrorize Jack and Diane and whoever else. I don't give a damn.
  16. I've been watching some of the wrapup of the Leviathan storyline. I'd forgotten just how much is devoted to setting up Parallel Time, with so many characters getting involved to look at the empty room (that empty room is one of the more quietly chilling aspects of the show). Roger is his most active for years in this period - a shame that this is Louis Edmonds' final appearance in the role. Sometimes I think I'm too hard on Geoffrey Scott because of his work on GL, but no, he's still bad here. At least Sky helps lead to the Angelique return and revival which helps make the last weeks of the story more compelling (if only she'd learned about Parallel Time). I remember that Dark Shadows book which came out in the early '90s saying PT didn't help the show in the long term in spite of some initial ratings success because it was too confusing. I don't think that's the case. I think, in spite of a great idea and some great performances and moments, the central story with Angelique, Maggie and Quentin just isn't compelling. This is by far the weakest KLS role (even weaker than Rachel Drummond) and the most one-note of any Angelique material. I still wonder what story Chris would have had if poor beautiful Don Briscoe hadn't left. Maybe he would have fallen for Sabrina and been killed by Cyrus. (the at times ludicrous, at times deeply disturbing Cyrus story quietly carried that timeline)
  17. Thanks @slick jones . So many wonderful photos and articles, along with cast lists. I appreciated reading Maeve's thoughts on her Irish roots (more interesting than her Search role probably was - sad she never found a good soap part post-Nicole). I had no idea Jim J. Bullock had popped back up on B&B.
  18. There were some times with Susan that I thought she erred a bit, but she looks good.
  19. This channel has four 1990 episodes (undated). Generations - Soap Opera - 1990 I also reuploaded some July 1990 episodes I didn't see elsewhere (one was around but this one has commercials). Generations (July 19, 1990)
  20. I can only speak for myself, but I tend to agree Thom's charisma is what carries Carlo. I think those last months before his death are probably the peak of the character. Nothing after that really works.
  21. They should have just done like the old movies and showed their feet as they kissed.
  22. The cast of SNL UK has been announced. The show begins on March 21. 'SNL' U.K. Unveils Inaugural Cast
  23. Thank you. I hope his remaining time is peaceful.
  24. That's crazy. I guess Irna re-used some of this for Kathy? The details also remind me of a Brookside storyline (the dead kids).
