I do want to believe these media games won't be effective, but I feel like they were very effective in Congressional and state races last year on the various gotcha topics (defund the police, immigration, the right wing framing of the stimulus). Maybe that will change. Some of those replies on the Milo tweet praising him for his grift remind me of just how many people have always been willing to shrug off his ugliness because it's more hip and fun to do so. At least they seem to be in the minority. I wonder if he is back to being bankrolled by the Mercers or if this is someone even more heinous. Florida certainly would be willing to go along with his sham - whether he will just cash in or try to find a way to be able to cash in and also hurt young men, I don't even want to think about. I remember the heavy efforts in the '90s to push ex-gay programs. Milo is probably too toxic to be able to get that message out today, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is the start of more, with less repulsive faces coming after him.

The usual suspects are pushing the border story nonstop and making sure it drowns out any positive accomplishments, with support from the likes of Joe Manchin.

The fact that he names this idea "Mexico First" is the first clue of where criticism would go and how it would be framed. Biden's administration, already being attacked 24/7 for its border policies, would be pilloried for prioritizing Mexico over American citizens, whether that is accurate or not. And of course certain Democrats are happy to pile on, while adding nothing of value:

Broderick did seem to empathize with Janet a great deal. It was Broderick having a lot of story ideas for Janet that helped ABC listen to the fan backlash and decide not to go ahead with the incredibly stupid, Reilly-esque idea of Janet getting plastic surgery to look like Brooke.

Not much here that would surprise, but it shines another light on how unhappy those last years of ATWT were (and it really did show up onscreen).

I didn't watch any of it but I saw that Chuck Todd tried to make Stacey Abrams look bad and that people are judging her for saying the new laws are an attempt to return to Jim Crow. She's right - I am tired of faux-niceties.

They are also constantly trying to beat the drum about Biden not having a press conference. They clearly are absolutely desperate to make the narrative about themselves and remind us how important and how tough they are. Trump was good for them in that they could cosplay as heroes and crusaders. They don't like feeling irrelevant, which is what they truly are.
