  1. They are doing this to try to get older voters back in the GOP column.
  2. I think I've made my feelings clear enough times now so I will probably just stop on this subject, but if anyone needs to block me, I understand. I'm so sorry to @Soapsuds and to you as well @marceline . I think you are the second poster here who has not been able to get a test without a long wait. It's so unfair and outright cruel. Best testing in the world, my ass.
  3. This has also made the debate and the tax stories go into the rearview mirror, and they will continue to speed toward ACB's confirmation along with trying to hype Pence in the debate. They will set the terms, and the media will follow. And we will hear, over and over, how strong Trump is and how anyone who questions or wants to pause is weak and doesn't want America to be strong. I am just hoping enough voters will not buy this and that the media has lost enough trust with people to where they will tune the talking points out.
  4. That's why I said attempted. They are too incompetent to pull off staging most of the time, as shown with the disastrous rollout of Amy Covid Barrett, but I think it was the plan. In order for it to work, the media has to carry water. And if the choice is between a candidate they have no interest in and a party they hate, and ratings, big money, plus getting to cosplay as Woodward and Bernstein for 4 more years, I am not sure there is much of a choice.
  5. Trump has announced he's leaving Walter Reed. After so many other people were revealed to be infected, I stopped believing it was a hoax, because I don't think that many doctors could be roped into lying without something being leaked, but I can't help myself from wondering if the Walter Reed part was a setup. The narrative he and his people have attempted to create is of a tough President who got moments of walking to a helicopter with a mask because he wanted to show the public he was taking his diagnosis seriously, being so tough that he was only in the hospital for a few days, and going on a public tour - again, flouting what the medical professionals that we are supposed to fear and resent told him to do - to meet with the people, waving as they clapped and sang for their hero. We will now get images of the triumphant President, who showed that COVID is no big deal and you just have to live your life, returning to the White House. The ads write themselves. We will now get a month of talking points about how much stronger he is than Biden and how he is living life while Biden is cowering. The true believers will eat this up, but this isn't about them. This is about the media. The media love this man, they love the money and coverage that he brings them. They have no real use for Biden, and never really have. He won't put cash in their hands, or get them awards that remind them how intelligent and fearless they are. Will they stand up for us, in what is likely our last free election (if this one is even free), in our last moments before fascism fully envelops this country? Will they stand up for the over two hundred thousand people that Trump murdered? Or will they go with what is easy, and makes them feel special? We will see.
  6. Speaking of the Bible:
  7. That economy number is ridiculous to me, and yet there it is again. The one positive is that if memory serves Obama was also not leading in the economy (at least not in 2012). A lot of people don't seem to ever give Democrats that answer.
  8. One I've seen Trump supporters using is - he went out and lived life and was fine, unlike Biden who has cowered and hidden. He's strong, and Biden is scared. The response to that should be that he's not fine, but that depends on how many people will be fooled by the videos and photos and his joyride. The other response would be 200K+ people never got his healthcare and they will never be fine, but I'm not sure how many outside of us and some others even care. It's not about, for me, 4D chess and master of strategy right now as much as he and his people, and their media helpers, have a crude, blunt force message that is very heavily amplified. And with a month to go, along with so much voter disenfranchisement and vote rigging going on, that frightens me.
  9. Thank you for the Comeback joke @Vee . I never have watched the second season as the first is perfect to me. Tell the "settled law" people who insist SCOTUS doesn't matter to shove this up their asses.
  10. This is why I have no time for the people out there who whine and whine and whine any time Maggie "my mother works for the Kushners" Haberman writes a halfway negative story about Trump and say "YOU SEE WHY YOU WERE SO WRONG ABOUT HER???" That paper continues to try to help Trump and are trying to shift the focus to Biden being in the wrong. Once I read about the "defeating COVID" coin they had in the works I was even more wary of the whole thing. At this point I do think he has it, but the whole setup is just too convenient for him, and only he and his people being morons and overplaying their hand has gotten in the way of a more fawning press narrative. I'm glad they can never just shut up and wait for what the media so clearly wants for them. They are too paranoid for that. I saw that dumbass Scott Adams today saying that Trump is now like Spiderman and will be empathetic toward people who have been infected...Lindsey Graham is pushing that line too. It makes my blood boil because he hasn't shown one bit of empathy, even now. So clearly people are just going to pretend he has, even though he's spending his time screaming about more tax cuts.
  11. The scamming does not ever let up. https://www.rawstory.com/2020/10/mission-accomplished-trump-ridiculed-for-premature-commemorative-coin-celebrating-him-taking-out-19/
  12. Sorry if this was already posted. Unbelievable. This man should be in jail.
  13. I hope so. I really do. I'm so sorry if your mother is there with any of this. He is a monster.
  14. Honestly I want to throw up. I knew he was going to do this stuff. I knew it. And I just don't have enough faith in this country anymore to say it won't work.
  15. Thanks. Seth Simons is a weirdo in a lot of ways and he has a weird personal hostility toward Lorne Michaels, but he has some points about the industry. Pretty stupid. When I watched last night I noticed there were too many people and they were too close together. I can't see that being allowed again next week. I just hope no one gets sick.
  16. I'm glad that I've seen a lot of pushback, including among establishment types like Colin Jost on SNL, about the idea that we are supposed to act sad about these diagnoses. Honestly I don't give a [!@#$%^&*] what happens to any of them. Not a single one.
  17. Why do people still expect anything out of Washington Post? Anyway, the toxic, deluded, dangerous publication run by out of touch trust fun brats, AKA Jacobin, has taken the mask fully off.
  18. Obama ran a strong campaign and had a great ground game and also made sure to keep the media at arm's length. All I can hope is that Biden's people have done the same. The pandemic has made the ground game part much more difficult, but hopefully it will be enough. At least I got a laugh today out of Bernie supporters still whining and pouting.
  19. We are nearing the "glorious comeback/COVID is nothing" stage of the game, if at all possible. I saw that Chuck Todd was trending, as he spent the morning talking about the uphill battle Biden's campaign is facing. Todd and that tedious little man George Stephanapolous also had Trump flacks on and let them push every talking point under the sun. Use polls for inspiration and confidence, but please never forget who the media is working for.
  20. None of this reassures me, but then I'm not the target audience, the media and his base are, and he always looks wretched to me so I can't tell the difference.
  21. I get the feeling from reading the various tweets that he was bad and is getting better, which is what I meant, but who knows... That October 19th return for the Senate is a shell game as they are still having the hearings for Barrett on the week of the 12th. If she genuinely believed in anything she would be so sickened with shame she would ask them to wait, but she won't, because she is a cultist and a shell in her own right.
  22. Clearly someone got the memo that people were concerned he wasn't tweeting. That does seem like his writing style, so I guess he probably is fine, so the coronation and not-a-big-deal stuff is probably on the way, but the incompetence of him and everyone he surrounds himself with continues to be staggering. Today was an absolute shitshow. And Mark Meadows is a clown who does nothing of value. As for Chris Christie (who is hugely at risk from this), all I have to say is: https://vine.co/v/igtJOOehrim
  23. They're trying to dare Harris to drop out.
  24. We're still a month away from Election Day so the White House return and fawnfest is always going to be in my mind. Until that happens I hope the media will continue to ask questions and point out how ludicrous and dangerous all of this is, but they get bored very quickly and they love their dear leader, or the cash he puts in their hands, anyway.
  25. I don't even understand what that means. When has he ever been in charge? When Van Jones got teary over him bombing Syria? I hope everyone is ready for the gushing when he returns to the White House and waves at the camera. They make so much money off him, they don't care how many of us die in the process. If Biden wins they need to be shut down.
