  1. Ron Johnson is one of the most odious members of the Senate. It still annoys me that Russ Feingold (who had become very up his own ass but was a much better senator) lost to him. He's a moron and complicit in the worst of everything of the last decade. Even worse than these three rushing back to push the vote for Jonestown cultist Barrett through is all the people they are going to infect and kill that we will never hear about, because they aren't rich.
  2. This is why I never go along with people who insist MSNBC is progressive or even liberal. It's all performance art. All of cable news makes big money off Trump. They need him. They may have progressive views in their own lives, but they also have bills to pay.
  3. I wish people could just stop being hobags at such a crucial time. Tillis has never been popular, but now he has COVID and Cunningham is sending sexts to a woman while he's married - Democrats will be lucky to not lose that seat now. So depressing. I'm glad I never thought they would get the Senate so I can't feel really shocked if they don't, but if they don't get the Senate Biden will have much much less of a chance at fixing anything. Ugh. Rachel Maddow bending over backwards to not only feel for Trump, but to shame anyone who doesn't is a great reminder of why so many lose faith in the process. Thanks for nothing.
  4. Well, they got their wish. Amy Coney Barrett truly is notorious now, and always will be.
  5. I will be keeping your mother in my thoughts. It's unfortunate that so many selfish assholes continue to put innocent people in danger.
  6. They are also running disgusting new ads tonight, which I won't post, but you can see them easily enough on Twitter. I respect Biden for taking the high road, but I hope they will only pause for a day or two at most.
  7. Just absolute garbage. And terrifying as so many eat this up.
  8. That's such an odd photo - is that really him?
  9. I know, but any moment where they are let up on is one that can't be taken back. They never stop spewing their poison. I don't want to give these people too much credit. I just think they are very dangerous and at this point I can't help being paranoid at anything they say or do.
  10. They are now focusing more on places like NE-2, which makes sense. So does Pelosi trying to get more money into flipping delegations in case this goes to a tie in the House. I know they can't give up on Florida because it would be seen as an admission of defeat, but Florida is fool's gold at this point. If they can get back MI/WI/PA, hold the Hillary states, and win Arizona, that may be enough. It may also be about the best to expect. They don't seem to chase the big "win" as much as a lot of campaigns, which is a good thing.
  11. Where we disagree is that you need to be a master of 4D-chess to do these stunts. I would never say Trump is a brilliant tactician. I just think that he and those around him are more likely to lie and scheme about everything they do, whether it works out or not. To name a recent example - the deal with drug companies that he failed to seal because of his insistence on making them send out gift cards to seniors. Or his helping to shut down any further stimulus so he could play the big man with his worthless EOs. I do think, after everything today, that there's a good chance he has COVID, but I still can't help wondering how much is being stage-managed and how much people are being set up for a fall. Biden choosing to stop negative ads, which might allow Trump and the media a chance to further solidify sympathy for him, is another moment where I feel like someone walked into a trap. But we'll see.
  12. I still am torn between wondering how serious it is and if this is just more godawful PR work from Trump and his incompetent flacks, but whatever they are doing is a shambles. They're lucky so many are willing to play along. They made a big mistake being so openly hostile toward Chris Wallace this week AND exposing him to COVID, as he is clearly not willing to play along.
  13. I think that is the best the show ever got. Everything was cooking - the murder of Dave Woodard (his "I saw your sister Sarah" line to a flummoxed Barnabas always stays with me), Julia's crackup, the introduction of Tony Peterson, Julia hypnotizing poor Vicki (perpetually stuck in that blue mini-dress with the green hair ribbon), vampire slut Carolyn constantly coiled, ready to fly into bitch mode at any moment. The seance is genuinely gripping, with Grayson Hall WAILING and SCREAMING and WHIMPERING as she so often did. I really hated to leave that period - it's never quite the same once they get back, as you could tell (IMO) that the writers had less and less interest in writing for the regular time.
  14. The irony is I think Regeneron is one of the drugs those "Biden is being pumped" psycho claim he was using. I feel so bad for the people at the Cleveland Clinic. I wonder how many will be filing lawsuits.

  17. I was sitting here trying to think if COVID had been around during W's time as President (and after "heckuva job, Brownie" and the disastrous Iraq invasion I don't necessarily believe he would have done any better). Would I have felt sorry for him? Would I have thought he was lying? To be honest, I'm not sure, which is sobering, because it makes me realize just how long I have had no trust or empathy with the government that runs my country. These people - all of them - are absolute monsters. Trump, that self-loathing Ronna person, the whole bunch, went around the country exposing and infecting people, being dishonest and delusional about what they were carrying with them the whole time. I was reading Carole Callawadr's tweets, warning about the likely boost to Trump after what happened with Boris Johnson, and she mentioned the Asian-Americans who will likely be attacked because of today's news. It made my blood run cold. We are that far gone as a country, with seemingly no going back.
  18. She's a horrible person.
  19. What a joke. I hope Biden and his people ignore this type of press concern trolling. I'm not sure if the plans for him to open up campaigning more, allow the campaign to have more engagement like door-knocking, and to go out on the road (Bernie is too apparently) are because of the recent articles about the big voter registration gap helping the GOP, or if they were always planned. They are being spun as panic mode, so maybe there is something polling-wise they are seeing. Either way I agree Joe should probably get back off the road for his own sake.
  20. @Vee I love Nora Dunn, forever one of my SNL heroes, so thanks for the tweet from her. I have no real dislike for Rachel Maddow (I don't care much for her show but the insane hatred she gets from leftists is offputting and at times a bit frightening), but that tweet was Beltway 101. I do think you and @JaneAusten raise many valid points, and I do think there's a good chance he has it so I'm not going to try to do some point-for-point thing where I say you're wrong...it's just so many little blips for me. Here's another, where Fox News is already giving the script away.
  21. I can believe he might have it, but the timing is just too convenient for me. He announces this just after a terrible debate and the tax return story, and at a time that might mean the town hall debate (which he would not want to go anywhere as he would be torn up) will be canceled. Then he can say, "I'm fine. It's just like the flu, just like I said, everybody get back to work and stop wearing masks." And the media will gush gush gush the whole way. I just hope the public won't fall for it.
  22. The cavalry has been called to rig the votes in Texas and South Carolina: He will backtrack, but who even gives a damn - let's just point and laugh.
  23. Thanks for sharing such priceless memories. It must have been something.
  24. Thanks. So many bad stories, so many writers...the main thing I remember of that is one of the soap wags who said Keir Dullea lived up to his name.
  25. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ua0GpJliKQs Promo about Marley and Vicky building the twin reveal.
