  1. Rare Donna Mills interview.
  2. Another fall 1992 episode, set right after the other I posted last week. Maybe someone can guess the date. This one has Bob and Susan in Montega, and another of Kim's experimental hair periods.
  3. About a decade ago I was part of a group that had a lot of GL episodes, but most of the links were lost and never replaced when Megaupload was nuked.
  4. I'm reminded of the months after the 2004 election where there was a great deal of hype, and gushing media praise, over W and Karl Rove winning over black and Hispanic voters through social conservatism. I still remember going to some of the 'progressive' blog sites and seeing diary entries along the lines of, "Time to throw gays under the bus?" Sometimes I still wonder what might have happened if the GOP had not massively screwed up in 2005 in ways even the press couldn't cover. One of the strengths the GOP has is that it exists only to cut taxes for the rich, appoint judges, and block anything Democrats want to do. This is still seen as perfectly fine, as the ideal, by many voters, the press, and many in the Democratic Party. That is why you have even the simplest policies which could win over voters and help people, like more flexible drug pricing, has been shut down by the "reasonable" and "bipartisan" Democrats in Congress who profit from nothing ever getting done.
  5. So sad to hear about Melvin Van Peebles. To be honest I thought he'd died a few years ago.
  6. Washington Post consistently has the biggest boo hoo baby "journalists."
  7. It will be interesting in seeing how this ends up comparing with Kristen Stewart, who has been getting early raves. West is a very charismatic performer, so I wonder how that will translate to Charles. I saw some comments that Emmy voting ended before MKW passed. If true that explains the result a little more. From what I saw of Menzies' work, he was excellent as Philip, and I don't think he had ever won an Emmy before.
  8. So sad to hear about Sarah Dash. Labelle were the heart of my favorite Laura Nyro album, and had some timeless songs that don't get much attention, like their cover of Moonshadow (better than the original) and What Can I Do For You?
  9. Yes, it threw me when I first read it. Maureen was very understanding, clearly.
  10. Thank you for sharing your memories. I wish any of this was available. I have only ever seen Lynn in a promo. I remember Maureen Garrett saying in SOD that Lynn had left the show because she got married, implying she hadn't really wanted to leave. Maureen said Lynn would, for a while, return and watch her while she was filming, which would unnerve her.
  11. Ah, thanks. So I guess they were planning to do a Marty/Esther pairing and then they had to rapidly change course with Esther's pregnancy. That might also explain why Monique is back.
  12. Another propaganda piece from this show, with droning, ponderous Ted Koppel no less. This is the same show that had a puff piece on Jon Voight recently. Garbage.
  13. Obama's administration also had harsh immigration policies, especially in his first term. Just not cruel, the way Trump's were. Biden was a part of that administration so on top of that you also have the heavy pressure of the media and the GOP, and a border patrol who are gung ho. Even if, as some say, that is not a whip, it's still an awful image. Even worse is that a majority of this country would gleefully hold that whip themselves if they could. America has absolutely decimated Haiti, many times over. If we owe any country it's them. Yet we see just how little respect they get from us.
  14. That's interesting. I didn't know that. Do we know which stories were truncated due to COVID? The show seems to have short plots anyway...I wonder about that Wai and Marty story. I guess Esther's maternity leave must have been sometime last year.
  15. What a joke. This is the type of stuff that Manchin and Sinema and those hiding behind them are allowing to keep voters home in 2022.
  16. He would be a great governor. Sadly his gun positions likely take him out of a statewide win, but you never know.
  17. Elisabeth Sladen.
