Another World Discussion Thread
It's a shame because with a few exceptions, these were vibrant characters who could have had a long run. And later attempts at bringing some back, like Nicole, just never really worked. Everything I've seen of Henrietta was worth watching - Michele Shay was not the type of actress who was cast often on soaps, not then and not even now. She felt very special. I also liked that she and Quinn managed to become friends after Bob died. I see that she is still active. I'd be interested in seeing an interview with her or Paley (if she is still active), not that fathead Goutman.

Didn't his brother pistol whip her at Sam's funeral? Or have I gotten that all mixed up? Sorry, I hit my paywall limit.

Edge of Night (EON) (No spoilers please)
Here's one. There may be one or two others around.

Non-Hollywood Sexual Assault & Sexual Harassment
I hate saying, "Oh it seems obvious," because that is not the case with harassers. I will say that both he and his brother have given off vibes for a while of being men who think they can get away with anything. Just yesterday Andrew tweeted about being wronged, and got tons of gushing replies in response. Anyway, CNN desperately needs to clean house. I will not watch that network.

Doctor Who
Thanks for posting it here for us, @Vee . I have never gone back to any of RTD's Who work after the bad handling of Donna's exit in the Tennant sendoff, or, indeed, after so many terrible choices made in that sendoff which I have likely already bitched about here before (to recap - Donna, Tigger jumps, let's all laugh at the Master's abused wife, what a failure, lol, horrible out of nowhere character slicing writing for Martha and a vague "put the black characters together and get it over with" feel to said material). The bad and treacly Celluloid Closet-esque writing of Torchwood Children of Earth and above all else RTD's extremely arrogant reactions to criticism of that writing pushed me to never watch his work again. I do see why they are bringing him back, and I do appreciate what he did for Sarah Jane and Lis Sladen, as well as the wonderful return for Jo Grant. I haven't actually watched Who since the first few episodes of Jodie's run (I didn't even ever finish Capaldi's), so I am not sure if I will go back at this point, but I do hope it works out.

To be fair I think this is the first time anyone has asked about Pat vs Dorothy. Anyway...- As The World Turns Discussion Thread

Thanks. So maybe Storm just disliked the story.- One Life to Live Tribute Thread
Didn't Storm and Lynde clash?- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
I'd certainly watch him over Roger Howarth.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
Your best bet would be if anyone who watched then would know. @vetsoapfan may be able to help. No problem. Glad you enjoyed it.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
I've read that but anything I've seen of temp Lisa in the early '90s was Maeve Maguire, not Jane. This episode has floated all over Youtube (I think I first saw it over a decade ago on a shut down account that put up a lot of rare GL and ATWT content) and was the main time I had seen Jane in the role. I'm glad it still exists.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
Not sure if any others are around. A lot of 1996 is missing.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
Rosemary Prinz did NOT appear on the show in 1979. IMDB is often wrong and poorly maintained. Bob gets a phone call from Penny, whom we do not see. He then leaves for a while. I imagine this may have been a story the interim writers set up that the Dobsons dropped, as it was more interesting to have a pornstache weirdo dominate the canvas. There is some talk about the recast Penny earlier in the thread. Most of us never saw her.- Big Brother 23
I don't watch BB anymore, although I still follow along to a point, but my main takeaway is how offputting it is to have a host pushing their religious views so heavily into the narrative (and I think she now also sends all the contestants Bibles...).- Knots Landing

Another fall 1992 episode, set right after the other I posted last week. Maybe someone can guess the date. This one has Bob and Susan in Montega, and another of Kim's experimental hair periods.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
About a decade ago I was part of a group that had a lot of GL episodes, but most of the links were lost and never replaced when Megaupload was nuked.- The Media/Journalism Thread

I'm reminded of the months after the 2004 election where there was a great deal of hype, and gushing media praise, over W and Karl Rove winning over black and Hispanic voters through social conservatism. I still remember going to some of the 'progressive' blog sites and seeing diary entries along the lines of, "Time to throw gays under the bus?" Sometimes I still wonder what might have happened if the GOP had not massively screwed up in 2005 in ways even the press couldn't cover. One of the strengths the GOP has is that it exists only to cut taxes for the rich, appoint judges, and block anything Democrats want to do. This is still seen as perfectly fine, as the ideal, by many voters, the press, and many in the Democratic Party. That is why you have even the simplest policies which could win over voters and help people, like more flexible drug pricing, has been shut down by the "reasonable" and "bipartisan" Democrats in Congress who profit from nothing ever getting done.- RIP: In Memoriam Thread
So sad to hear about Melvin Van Peebles. To be honest I thought he'd died a few years ago.- The Media/Journalism Thread
Washington Post consistently has the biggest boo hoo baby "journalists."- NETFLIX: The Crown
It will be interesting in seeing how this ends up comparing with Kristen Stewart, who has been getting early raves. West is a very charismatic performer, so I wonder how that will translate to Charles. I saw some comments that Emmy voting ended before MKW passed. If true that explains the result a little more. From what I saw of Menzies' work, he was excellent as Philip, and I don't think he had ever won an Emmy before. - Generations Discussion Thread
