  1. Hot Hero Sandwich, with Vicky Dawson, is streaming here at the moment - won't be on long.
  2. @vetsoapfan I thought you might be interested in this. Tom Fuccello being asked a fan question about why the show didn't let Pat and Paul get back together and instead paired Paul with Dorian. "All I can say is they thought that two happy people together would be boring, but Jacquie and I both disagree. We thought they should have gotten back together, and then they could have created some problems. Paul could have gone astray, or there could have been some other complication with Tony, or maybe bring in a child - Pat and Paul could have had a child. There are a number of ways to keep it complicated and interesting - there were other ways to handle it. It's a shame, because many fans feel as you do, and really liked Pat and Paul as a couple. Also, Jacquie and I always enjoyed working together, and we think it showed."
  3. Currently watching a stream on the Retrontario Youtube channel...it repeats but not sure how much longer they will be going. Anyway, one of the specials shown was a late '70s or early '80s PSA on VDs, and I was surprised to see Wayne Northrop pop up in a segment - he played a guy who was camping with another guy and trying to figure out whether he could have gotten syphilis from his girlfriend.
  4. I never thought SJP and John Corbett had any chemistry, and I never will. Much as I hate what has become of HBO Max, if David Zaslav shitcans this wretched show, I will cheer.
  5. The show lost most of what made it feel different to me - the eccentricity, the community aspect, the complex characters. Everyone became more streamlined, colder, and unpleasant. I also hated Aaron's storyline, especially Jackson's train crash and paralysis - the optics of a proud gay man being brought on the show just to suffer and be put in a wheelchair (and within several months, commit suicide) for the sake of a self-loathing closet case who had hit him (and others) bothered me a great deal. More than anything it was the sendoff of Viv and Terry, who had been on the show for nearly 15+ years before being fired. Viv barely even got an exit (she just went to sleep, drunk, and then died offcamera in a fire), got an offcamera funeral with none of her children returning, and we even got to hear "comedy" about how the vicar had called her by the wrong name. It felt extremely spiteful. I have never forgotten or forgiven.
  6. That period is what alienated me from the show in the long term, but yes, it's even worse now - the last 2-3 years have been unwatchable to me. Beyond the Dingles, the show also has what is I think 20 or more child characters, which is just absurd to me.
  7. Oh look, it's another executive idolized by the dead end left...
  8. It goes on and on, and this is just the beginning. https://www.texastribune.org/2022/08/16/keller-isd-removes-books/ https://www.cbsnews.com/news/wisconsin-school-board-votes-in-favor-of-pride-flag-preferred-pronoun-ban/
  9. @Vee Thanks. That was lovely. I'm glad we got some glimpse of Maureen O'Brien playing Vicky again, and probably our closest chance of getting a glimpse of the Myth Makers.
  10. NBC/Politico figure doing flat out stenography for loathsome Ron Johnson. What a surprise.
  11. A "progressive" has recently gotten a lot of attention online for being involved in a mapping project of Jewish donors in Boston (which has since been used by white supremacists) and for going on CCP-media to decry Pelosi visiting Taiwan. Sure enough, she was glowingly profiled by NYT not that long ago.
  12. There are some interesting results out of Alaska. Much as I'd love to see Palin booted back to hell, it's way too soon to tell about the Congressional seat, but the state legislative seats are worth a gander as well.
  13. Johnson tends to outperform polls, but his saying he'd support the Obergefell/Loving ratification bill makes me think the bleeding from independents is real.
  14. Right wing Beltway leeches absolutely seething and bitter.
  15. I don't really like Fetterman or his supporters, and I think he gets a lot of credit just because he has one of the dumbest opponents ever (who could, sadly, still win), but Oz truly is beyond parody. This gives me a laugh, especially the way he says "shortage of salsa."
  16. Thanks for the articles. I had no idea just how close Anne was to such a disastrous choice before she got AW. Another reminder that the happy endings of Hollywood films are never real...
  17. All of which the media laps up, complete with "Gosh, he's so brilliant...how does he get away with what we let him get away with at every turn???" articles (Politico has one out now apparently).
  18. Of course it's a Washington Post "reporter."
