  1. nm, that episode was already on Youtube, just with another date.
  2. Sorry about that. It's getting harder and harder for me to see articles.
  3. Bitter Megyn will chase any trend. I imagine this is getting extra push now because of the Arlington fiasco. The only people who even listen to her are brain dead cultists who will only ever vote for Trump anyway. Here's Semafor Ben, spreading paper-thin claims that his pal in Beltway smugness Olivia Nuzzi lost a big publicity campaign because of Democrats who were mad at her and didn't understand that her years of racist and bigoted tweets against Obama were "jokes." (no mention of her devotion for Richard Spencer and Ann Coulter) And of course a whine from her that when the right targets journalists, no one cares, but the left complains and she is punished.
  4. AOC tells the truth about Jill Stein (some of the old Stein cronies like Brie Brie are not happy).
  5. @Vee I've been seeing that talking point everywhere about how her lack of bounce is so notable. I think they all got it from Nate Silver. Another is hee-hawing over her losing support in a Minnesota poll.
  6. I rolled my eyes at them going on about how Moms for Liberty will appeal to fired up suburban women when that did not happen in 2022 or 2023. The media spent so much time building this group up they just can't let them go.
  7. If you can't access Twitter let me know and I'll post the photos.
  8. So much talent on Good Times, even in the flimsiest of roles.
  9. I've never gotten much out of what I've seen from O'Fee, but I am still curious for her take on Charlotte. I wonder if Long didn't try to do very much with Rebecca Hollen because she didn't create Trish, or if this was just a Kobe issue. Either way, a real waste. And after Trish is gone Vanessa has to end up filling some of those roles for the Lewis family (even when she and Billy are split), which drains some of the life of the character.
  10. A recent Archive post with various radio soaps (not sure how many are on Youtube). Radio Soap Operas - From Transcription Discs & Second Generation Reels : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive I looked on Youtube for this one and only found the theme music. The Carters Of Elm Street January, 1940 Transcription Disc : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive Is that Jone Allison as Mildred?
  11. Thanks. Another episode I've love to see.
  12. I'm never sure how many radio episodes of Guiding Light are around. I see that the Library of Congress has a number of 1942-1946 episodes we can't listen to, and a number of early-mid '50s episodes are on Youtube, as is July 15, 1940. This collection of radio soaps has an episode from June 10, 1940. I can't remember if this one had already been around or not. 13. A very short-lived "teen drama" I'd never heard of called Palmetto Pointe, filmed on location in Charleston. Per Wiki this ran for 5 episodes, 2 unaired after that, and the project ended in bankruptcy and the cast and crew not being paid (clearly Prospect Park did not learn the perils of this PP alliteration). John Wesley Shipp guest starred. Amanda Baker also appeared, before her work on Night Shift and AMC.
  14. https://www.npr.org/2024/08/29/g-s1-20187/trump-abortion-amendment-4-florida-ivf-funding-reproductive-rights He's lying that the amendment will allow for abortion at nine months, which of course people are backing up as true even when it's just more bullshit.
  15. Yet the AP still won't even admit this man is a Trump supporter.
  16. That's great. Brings back memories of some of the old days here.
  17. I don't think anything of Kit or Charlotte is available to us, so I hope this appears someday.
  18. It makes me wonder what their thought processes were as other shows around the time that had begun to have increasingly dark stories (like Picket Fences) were also fading fast. Bea was such an underrated character and Elizabeth Hoffman was an underrated actress. I remember seeing her a year or two later in one of those volcano movies Hollywood was pushing around the same time (they all flopped) and just couldn't believe she was playing another character...to me she was still Beatrice. One of the reasons the first few seasons were special to me were the flashbacks. They helped to flesh out the bonds between the sisters. I know that type of device can be very cheesy, but it worked. The young Georgie was especially good. I later learned she played Willow in the pilot for Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Not sure if she did anything after that.
  19. The British soaps used to be better at handling politics - they were able to talk about Thatcher, and policies affecting where they lived. That is long gone. I remember EastEnders having an excruciating and vague both sides take on Brexit.
  20. The media knows that if they keep throwing all these little knives out - claims of Harris lying, all the tut-tutting over her not answering the "first day" question clearly enough, claims that Harris has something to hide about her race - it will create a narrative for voters who don't pay a lot of attention. The same with all the smears about Tim Walz. It's loathsome and shows how they have fully given the game away. Yet given how close the race is and how much Trump's support is undercounted, they clearly see an opening to push him over. I've never trusted the media, but even then, I'm agog at how they encourage and enable Trump's blithe promises of mass deportations or free IVF for everyone. I still read Weigel's tweets in spite of better judgment as he covers a lot of stuff and sometimes I agree with his takes, but his encouraging the homophobic pile-on of Pete Buttigieg never leaves my mind.
  21. She was in the first season (by far the best as it was pre Iyanla). She did return a number of times for visits after that. Here's one at about 5 minutes.
  22. I don't think anyone here these days still watches Big Brother, but they just had an evicted player (a guy named Tucker) who helped bring them the best ratings they'd had in a few years. He was evicted pre-jury and the show is still going on for another month. Usually BB players that CBS liked will have a cameo on B&B or Y&R, but it wouldn't be a bad idea if they had him (possibly with another well-liked player evicted a few weeks earlier named Cedric) help promote The Gates.
  23. I just realized thanks to @slick jones and their invaluable threads that that Heart and Home woman is Andy Paige. I first saw her on Starting Over 20 years ago and she seemed so much more natural - her story arc on Starting Over was one of my favorite parts of the show. She doesn't even look like the same person. I don't really know what her life has been in recent years. but I hope she is well.
