A Down's story is nice on paper but not something which would ever work in a soap genre, especially modern soaps. The only one who may have pulled it off was Marland.

Fletcher took Meg and fled town in early 1998. Around 1999 or so they briefly had him come back with Meg, when Holly had a breakdown. For whatever reason, that was dropped, and he left again. I'm not sure Meg was ever mentioned again.

Oh that's right - for some reason I thought he lived with the Webbers. One was Jeremy and one was Mikey? I don't think it's fair to dredge up this stuff - this was the 80's. I wouldn't be surprised if Jessie and Steve were snorting lines.

I can't see Michael and Starr together (they look too much alike). It's surprising GW was going to have Michael inherit ELQ, since the show quickly moved him away from working there.

I think that was that boy who was one of the Webber foster children. I think fans hated those kids.

Michael Crawford was going to be a model? Wasn't he a little old for that? Those huge pearls and the ruffles on Cricket's outfit, she's like some toy doll. She just needs a dream car.

Jessica is so sugary sweet. Wasn't she dying at this point? Was Brenda Epperson sick? It's so strange seeing Terry Lester and Jess Walton together. You can tell Jess is still settling into the role - she's OTT in trying to match Lester.

I don't think she had anything to do for the rest of 1996 either, aside from counseling Vivian. I wonder what the story with Roger would have been if Zaslow hadn't become ill. Knowing Rauch, probably not much.

I mostly like those small little moments which were missing later on, like the bonding between Levy and Cutter. That's something which they left behind when they had Frank, and then Harley and finally Gus, as the cops. That Roger/Holly scene was so powerful. I had almost forgotten what strength they had as acting partners. I have a 1996 Maureen Garrett interview I'll put up.
