What was this story with Miss Thompson? I don't know a lot about Amanda either. I know Irna wasn't praised for her dialogue writing, but that Claire/Judge Lowell conversation took me aback. Talk about stilted. Then you could tell they were trying to get the "hip" dialogue in through Donald. Generally Don seems like a very complex character but one who was left on the sidelines or turned into a stooge in later years. The Liz/Amanda conversation probably interested me the most, and felt the most "real" (especially the part about whether or not to call).

I didn't know that about 2009. I remember the endless, and boring, Alan-Michael/Lucy stuff. I guess one reason it was so endless was the show was looking for other options, yet never seemed fully committed (remember the thrilling Alan-Michael/Tangie story). Such a wasted character. They shold have put him with Gilly.

He looked good in the premiere photos I've seen. As for Lumina, initially the story seemed focused on Rachel, then shifted to Amanda. I'm not sure how much it was cut short for cancellation. In the story, Amanda looked like Jordan Stark's old love, so he broke up Amanda's relationship with Cameron. He planned to suck Amanda back into time, or something. This was foiled because of Cameron's love for Amanda, and Jordan's host body - David Halliday - was left behind. David was a huckster salesman from Oklahoma, I think. I do wonder what their plans would have been for David if the show had continued. They may have done an is-he-isn't-he with David and Jordan.

Was Luke shown during the time he was "dead"? I know he was supposed to be in rehab for his legs when Robert and Holly fell for each other, but I wonder if that was part of his time off after extending.

Supposedly that was supposed to be a short term story which then took off because of viewer popularity. I think the initial idea may have been for Josh/Vanessa. I never liked Matt and I thought he was kind of patronizing and empty, but mostly I was annoyed at the endless implications of Matt/Dinah and the show's obvious eagerness for this pairing. I think GL resented that "Mattessa" fans fought against Matt/Dinah. I'm glad it never happened - or that it at least when it did, Vanessa got to exit the relationship with some dignity and finally got together with Billy again. All of this mostly happened offcamera, and more should have been done, but it was still better than anything she had under Laibson/McTavish, or Rauch.

That house never felt like a home to me, mostly because it epitomized Vanessa being weak and written as some burden to Matt. I also have awful memories of stupidity like Dinah getting identical nightgowns for herself and Vanessa so Matt would try to make a move on her.

I always liked it too. I always thought of it as Vanessa's home, as I always thought of that weird place that was built into a mountain, or whatever, as Reva's place. I know a lot of older fans hated the latter and wanted Reva back in "Revabend," or as it was called by then, "Hollybend." Wow the GL ladies did a lot of house swapping.

I didn't know her entrance was fooling around with a pilot - with that taped on hair and mustache I thought he was going to be some villain.

Those people weren't running the DNC. This man is the head of the Republican Party. The only hint of a negative reaction I saw was from Bob Scheiffer. I've even seen articles which tsk-tsked because the DNC head wasn't as OTT as Priebus was. This is all a fun game to the media, and the uglier the comparisons, the better (especially if it's on the right). Look at how breathlessly they covered the claims that Obama wanted to kill old people.
