I never watched 90210 either. We should form a club. Julie played the Betty role on Return to Peyton Place, but was let go close to the end, replaced by Lynn Loring in a ratings grab.

Mitt fumbles and bumbles again, and as always, money and media mean it won't matter. http://www.politico.com/blogs/burns-haberman/2012/02/mitt-i-misunderstood-blunt-bill-question-116002.html

Any Capitol Fans Here?
Finally finished the Brenda/Wally clips and silly as it sounds, I feel a little sad How long after these did Leslie leave? Was her departure a big loss for the show? To me she just exudes such an endearing star quality in this - a kid sister, but also a beautiful, maturing young lady. She and Wally just seem special together. I can't tell you how much I love the scene in the second clip where they start to dance, and they slowly clasp hands, caught up in the moment. Who was the curly haired woman in the white dress who congratulated Trey on his wedding?

Adele Thread
That's a good point. I guess it helps that Rolling in the Deep had such a beat and was almost anthemic (although her voice wasn't quite up to it). She also seems very down to earth. I wanted to start a thread on British singers who were more successful in America, but I'm not even sure how many there are...

Why do you think Adele's album is so popular? Do you think she's one of those British artists who is more popular here than in the UK?

B&B: Old/Classic Discussion & Articles
Brad Bell takes a lot of his work very seriously - the only time they have jokes is when it's obvious joke characters like Pam. I never knew what they were doing with that story. It did have some fun moments at first but I got the feeling it was supposed to become more serious. Fortunately it was dropped.

As The World Turns Discussion Thread
The first Brad was pure sex. There was also a lot of tenderness in his relationship with Camille. I had stopped watching ATWT - again - at this time due to being put off by a lot of the decisions, but I think he was Camille's best chance for a truly complex story. The scenes where she talks about how she hated her hair as a child and now she will miss it more than anything, are so affecting. I had forgotten about that incredibly severe haircut Emily had at this time. I remember when she was with David, they had the same haircut. It aged her a lot, along with the clown makeup.

Not much of a surprise. Now expect all kinds of media talk about what a comeback it is to win his home state, and how the race must end now.

Search For Tomorrow Discussion Thread
I didn't realize I didn't know her from Search, I just knew her as Meta, but I loved her as Meta. I remember reading that before she died, P&G had a little ceremony for her, with an honorary Emmy, and a gift of thanks. In many ways I think that was probably the last goodbye for the P&G era. I'm glad to see you here again. I haven't posted as much stuff lately but if there's anything you're interested in seeing, let me know.

Big surprise, very big. Olympia Snowe, first elected to the Senate in 1994, is not going to run for a fourth term. Here is her statement on why. http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/entries/snowe-statement-on-decision-not-to-run-for?ref=fpblg The Maine GOP has become dominated by extremists like Paul LePage, but I think she probably would have won a fourth term. I can believe that she was just sick of the partisanship that has poisoned Congress. This makes for a very competitive race. Both major parties in Maine are broken and struggle to provide strong nominees. LePage only won because of a split between Democrats and independents, and many voters regret letting him in as governor. Yet I don't think there are any strong Democrats in contention here - Mike Michaud, one Congressman, is pro-life (not a good fit statewide), and the other Congresswoman I haven't heard a lot about. Republicans also seem to have few likely choices for nominees.

Wow I've never seen the full version of that photo before. I have only seen Donna standing over Chuck and Tara, in a different pose. Phil looks like he's holding them hostage.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Have you been following any of the story about Bethenny and her drink being pulled off the shelves? Since she sold the drink, does she bear any responsibility? I saw photos of her demonstrating the drink last week and she looked sickly.
