Scott Maslen is leaving Eastenders. He will have a big exit (of course that's what they always say). I had a good laugh at some of the comments at DS about how wonderful he used to be, and oh aren't we sad when any Santer character leaves. It was Santer who made him a manwhore and seemed to have zero idea what Maslen could actually play. The only popularity this character had was with Ronnie obsessives, and for sexiest male awards. Worthless.

Thanks so much for the summary. I've heard about Ivan's fetishes, especially the early ones, and always wondered how far the show went. Didn't he wear a black glove, or want women to wear only black lingerie, or something? They always kept Karen with that double life, and yearning for some type of respectability she could never have. That's what soaps don't know how to do today. Everything is black and white. Today Karen would own a hotel and go around looking down on people.

I don't think Victoria would have had more of a role by that time even with Heather Tom, because the show had to cut her off at the knees to help prop Victor. Were Bobby/Brittany supposed to be like a new Victor/Nikki?

Sad I haven't watched the show in a long time but I loved Jacqui before they ruined her with the baby obsession. Clare is a phenomenal actress and I hope she has a great deal of success.
