  1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSc_J72yaWY I don't remember this version. How often did they use it? I love the start and the end.
  2. Greg Wrangler, the brief temp recast for Pierce when James Fitzpatrick was fired, is in this clip. No wonder my only memories of him were wandering around shirtless. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUKFym4kqIk
  3. Oh God that is the Maria/Dimitri sex scene. SFK should have put a warning. Oh my stomach It hurts even more now. It's so hideous. It hurts. It hurts. And the sounds he makes. Oh God why
  4. SFK has more AMC clips up. 1996-era material, including an entire episode. Here's one, featuring the debut of Lee Meriwether as Ruth, and the short-lived Pierece temp recast, Greg Wrangler. I didn't remember Lee being dressed like an animal trainer, or how cold she was early on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUKFym4kqIk
  5. Thanks again to SFK. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Nw2JTjMKFc
  6. Thanks. The CPW ad is a great concept, and works well, aside from the "sugar daddy's baby" (ugh!) and the part at the end about the TV set burning down, or whatever they said. The CBS ads are generally cool, sleek, far more forward than anything on TV today, but they just aren't suited for CBS. I also felt very angry that they only showed Angela Lansbury, who'd carried CBS for years, in one measly shot. Not very subtle. I never get over the way they treated her. Thank you again for finding this.
  7. Thanks to SFK. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCzJcrLSKv8
  8. DePriest did Eric the clown, she brought in Jeremy's psycho ex and his son David (I think), I think she did the Adam/Dixie affair story.
  9. That's a beautiful song, and a nicely done montage. It's become somewhat hip now to hate on anything from ER or AM, and I understand some of that, but I think that era was the last time AMC felt like itself, or what it could be.
  10. Thanks. I asked mostly because most of the interviews I've seen with Hall focused on his conflicts (like with Irna Phillips, among others), so I wasn't sure if he had conflict with many he worked with. What happened during Russell's tenure on The Doctors?
  11. Did Gordon and Hall get along? I think they were at Dark Shadows together too, although some of the DS writing was almost anti-soap.
  12. There are others here who are best qualified to answer this, but I think they may have just been planning to do what they already did (Sam Hall and whoever else). But that may be wrong. I know it's been discussed here before in more detail.
  13. Yes that was true. No idea what he would have done at GH. I don't think he would have given them the big OTT stories that helped make them (Luke and Laura) so famous, so who knows what might have been. I guess his GH would have been much more nuanced.
  14. Thanks. I guess she's not an actress.
  15. Who's the woman on the right?
  16. Thanks to SFK. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1fYd9gimXk
  17. Hadn't seen this promo before. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVay6IBjCkQ
  18. It's like comparing Charles Ingalls to Charles Manson.
  19. The Cartwrights were the brothers and father on Bonanza.
  20. Grant handled that terribly. Great twists with Reginald's killer. I wasn't expecting that. This really brings stories together.
  21. Good to hear a little more about Tyrone's mother. The show never talked about her that often. I hope Allen's news will take some weight off of Marley's mind. I'm glad you're tying up these stories so carefully. Carly off the wagon again. Wow. I liked that scene with the bartender. I feel dumb. I didn't get why Jake hurt his knee. Now I do...
  22. More of that Alan/Bobbie...thing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vmdy0WtKjYU
  23. Thanks to SFK. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTn31jKIIqc
  24. The acting in that 2002 episode is so amateurish. I'd actually started to forget how bad some of that was, especially the Hershey Presleys Kelly Monaco wasn't much of an actress but had real presence. I wish she'd ended up playing a role like Ruby on Supernatural (a demon with unclear motives and the chance for redemption, ultimately revealed to be a sham), which was a killer part, often miscast.
  25. That sounds enthralling. It's a way to make Marco pay for his crimes even though he technically got everything he ever wanted. And it's more of that double life concept. It sounds like these stories all worked well while Russell was there and were then stretched out a little too long after he passed away.
