ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
It's not quite as bad as it used to be about five-ten years ago when CSI was everywhere, but that's the best I can say. I do like Elementary though.

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
Elementary is the show where the British guy doesn't have to hide his accent.

The page before this - she officiates same-sex weddings.

That bit about Pat Bruder makes me very happy. I think Ellen would be too. JoAnna Rhineheart couldn't really act, but I always liked her anyway (even if she was no Tamara Tunie). Glad she's showing up on a hit series.

Look how well SS was doing before CBS got involved.

That's interesting. I wonder what caused it.

The Politics Thread
Quinn is not overly popular among people in the know, due to her very abrasive personality (there was a NYT article on this). She's also not all that progressive. Look up some of the controversy over a living wage bill she blocked for several years.

Edge of Night (EON) (No spoilers please)
You're right. They have the book. I forgot about that. Seeing the episode would be great. I've seen a few that aren't on Youtube now but I'd be happy to get to download it, even if it's one I've seen.

Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
I thought Collinson was fine on Doctor Who but he made me tune out of Corrie - I put a lot of the nastiness and bile onto him. Blackburn did this at Emmerdale too, so I'm not sure if it will change, but I will hope. If you saw the story you might feel differently, so this is just me giving a summary, and I couldn't watch most of the story so I'm just going to say based on how other people reacted - again, you may not feel this way if you watch the story. When Eileen and Paul got together, he had a wife who was suffering from Alzheimer's. He and this woman moved into Eileen's home, because Eileen wanted to be with him. Eileen was sort of her carer, but would also kiss or be affectionate with Paul in front of her (this wasn't done maliciously - the show apparently just thought this was normal behavior). Eileen regularly talked to everyone about what a burden this woman was to her, as everyone on the show told her how hard done by she was. Finally, the woman, who had become increasingly unstable and violent (because soaps just love to tell stories about people with Alzheimer's being unstable and violent), accidentally killed herself. Eileen went to her funeral, even though the woman's family didn't want her there. There was a huge scene between the woman's bitchy sister, Paul, and Eileen. This story left a bad taste in the mouths of a lot of viewers, and, along with taking away most of the humor Eileen used to have, it seemed to take a toll on the character's popularity.

Edge of Night (EON) (No spoilers please)
IMDB credits her with Edge too, but I think I always remember GL because I know she played Trudy Bauer and that's a role I always want to see more of. It sounds like she had a much larger role on Edge.

Thanks. You don't see that type of info very often.

Loving/The City Discussion Thread
I posted an SOD recap from around this time period and it seemed to be from March 1990 (the SOD issue), so this probably means this was sometime in February 1990.

Loving/The City Discussion Thread
I'm not entirely sure...dc might know, if they're still posting here. Or Paul Raven. I think this might be early 1990. Chip Albers' channel has clips from his very first Loving appearance, as well as some of his work on AMC, AW, and GL.

Dark Shadows Discussion Thread
They seemed to sort of shrug off both Moltke and Joel Crothers (who could have played a great heel if they'd let him - I wasn't a huge fan of the Nathan Forbes story, but he played it well). Perhaps they saw them as part of some old guard.

I hadn't thought about that. They had a few stories which seemed to hint at later stuff, never developed - I think there was a hint of some mystery about a home Burke and Vicky were going to buy.

Wasn't sure where to put this - I put it in the GL thread. It's an article on Lisa Howard. http://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/32166-guiding-light-discussion-thread/?p=1224321
