  1. Thanks so much for taking the time to share this with us. I'd heard her talk a little about the changes in the show when they killed off her son, but I didn't realize when exactly it had started. I also enjoy hearing about the bloopers - never heard the one about the porch. Pathetic that Lee Grant was fired because of the blacklisting, but I guess in the long run it worked out for her.
  2. Will they actually have two black men on the show at the same time? I hope so. I hope this is partly to address this offensive (whether it was intentional or not) writing choice. And it's nice that they keep hiring such first-rate actors. TWD is one of the best-acted shows on TV.
  3. I might be wrong. For some reason I thought this was the reason for both OLTL and GH around this point. I think it being summer was also a factor.
  4. Thanks. That doesn't surprise me. Howarth was probably at his most conflicted with Todd in the late 90s and you could see the schizophrenia in what they were trying to write for him and what he would play. The Labines and Long were both stuck with this because it was kind of obvious that someone wanted him to have more of a sexual relationship with Tea, and he didn't want to play it. I don't have a hard time believing that most of that OLTL was JFP. I can't see Pam Long writing scenes like Rachel being beaten bloody with a phone receiver. As the years have passed I've come to respect Long as a writer more, through her GL work. I'm sorry that she never had a good chance with another soap.
  5. Eileen was a friend of the Martin family, I believe. Eric would know more but if you go to Agnes Nixon's site that episode is available. That OLTL episode aired in primetime because of preemptions, I think. It had a "film" look which Marlena de la Croix, I believe, described as the camera being dipped in dirty bathwater. It was a hammy mess, but then, with Roger Howarth around, what else do you get.
  6. Maybe the comments people made about her mental health got to her? Some of what she did seemed more like a cry for help than anything else.
  7. Yes, he meant the new versions.
  8. That's very glam. She would have been good on the original Star Trek, she had that look.
  9. They hold up well. It's always a surprise to see Knots with these two shows, but I guess it worked.

  11. Eileen's Ashley so often comes off as cold and judgmental when I watch her. I have a very hard time getting through her scenes in this episode. Other than that, it was a good episode - Victor and Nikki at their most touching and innocent, great Lauren bitchery, and the Jill/John conflict is organic, although I'm sorry that once again a woman not wanting a child was used to show her flaws.
  12. Probably so. I wasn't interested in the story but I always had a soft spot for ART. Too bad the ABC transplants didn't know, or care, about fan opinions.

  15. Kimberly was messed up by that split personality story. They so clearly had no idea what to do with her.
  16. She played Bill and Meta's sister Trudy on GL, and Louise Grimley Capice on EON. Thanks. I didn't realize it was so short.
  17. Thanks. I guess Paul was a nice guy at this time. The show is a little busy to me, but that may be due to it being a special episode. Errol said that he thought OLTL and AMC were somewhat similar to Neighbours. If you ever get a chance to see them, I hope you can weigh in.
  18. I wonder how GL fans felt about seeing her on ATWT as a darker character. You don't usually hear about recasts in that era being so popular. I know Don Stewart was popular, but there was a year or two gap with Gary Pillar, wasn't there? I guess Mart Hulswit took right over as Ed though.
  19. Thanks. So he was with the Swing Out Sister woman.
  20. What were the main stories at this time? Was that Jason Donovan in the opening (but not the episode)? I wasn't sure if he was still on at this time. Paul is credited - is he in this anywhere? I'd never seen Kerry before. Wasn't expecting that, especially the Bo Derek hair. How did she die? She seems interesting. She and that other brunette woman are wearing the Swing Out Sister type hair and style. Poor Harold. Even as a comic character he doesn't seem very happy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lh1SuISSEN8
  21. That was a story where Carole and her husband Skip wanted to adopt a baby (he had a low sperm count). Wert was the biological father, who'd come back into Nan's life. I think she was hoping for a future with Jeff and the baby.
  22. I read about this earlier. It sounds like the show fell apart creatively (I guess because it wasn't planned to go past one season), so this isn't a surprise. Too bad more shows won't dump their problem talent.
  23. I'm glad Clara's still around. I wonder what her involvement was with Sylvie. Matt. Wow. I love how everyone keeps assuming Felicia and John are having an affair again.
