  1. Thanks for sharing that clip. I liked BMH and with proper writing his sweet earnestness (which the show lacked) would have been put to good use. Joey had been a non-character for a very long time at that point, and the family needed his heart to stop from descending into the malaise that hit them for the rest of the show. Too bad male characters with heart or sincerity are no-go in modern daytime.
  2. I don't believe in resolutions either. Isn't Porsha doing a haircare line too? She looks a little like Natalie Cole in the photo. The whole family photoshoot must have been very bittersweet for the Guidices. I'm sure they'll pay some type of price but for their kids I hope they won't have to go to jail.
  3. I know you've talked about this before, but was it Malone or Higley who wrote the Killing Club story? Was anyone important beyond Gabrielle killed off in the Music Box story?
  4. Almost everything in these clips is too high-intensity and too atmospheric, to the point of being forced (ugh Ty Treadway). The scenes with Rae and with Haver work because they're slowed down, so you can see the horror. I think Malone needed someone to rein in his temptation to just go for style and artifice. I guess that was Griffith in the first few years of their OLTL run. I know you aren't a big fan of Linda Dano, but I do think she was very effective at the old school melodrama and histrionics. I don't think JFP or Tomlin ever understood this about her. Seeing this is frustrating because you have so much raw potential here which Frons didn't give a [!@#$%^&*] about.
  5. Linda Dano is a very melodramatic actress, and that was put to great effect in these scenes. They're very powerful. Seeing Ashford play a role which has force is startling compared to most of what he had as Jack. Bad Acting Bree, as always. I'd forgotten how stupid they made Jessica for this storyline. Michael Easton looks very grimy.
  6. Thanks for the extra background info. Did you see any of Rabat's work?
  7. Do you think they'd get rid of Cynthia?
  8. Do you think Kenya will get another season? I haven't really heard any buzz, other than people saying they're tired of her antics. I always sort of assumed she and Porsha would go, although I guess Cynthia could too if they don't think she has story/if she's not close to Nene now. I guess that this new woman, Monique, is there to be Nene's friend?
  9. A nice little treat for Paper Dolls fans. Dack Rambo and Nicolette Sheridan in a 1988 perfume commercial. It's at about 32 minutes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oC_tIwNrc0
  10. True. I guess she never would have gone back to Santa Barbara, which helped her get the DAYS job. Judith is a surprisingly dull role, especially when Louise had already shown her ability for camp when playing Augusta. I did truly enjoy her chemistry with Anthony Call.
  11. If this is true, what a classy guy... http://www.wetpaint.com/cynthia-bailey/articles/2013-12-18-peter-thomas-leave-fibroid-surgery
  12. Did Brandi basically say she just fakes all this stuff for airtime? Not that most of these shows are real, but when you just blatantly burst the bubble that way, you're telling people nothing you say or do can be trusted. I thought the ratings had declined during her tenure on the show, but she's saying she gave them an increase.
  13. Thanks for reading. I think Suzanne mentioned him in one of her interviews, but nothing specific.
  14. These are being shared by We Love Soaps, as they had been releasing DVDs of some of this material until P&G wanted to end the arrangement. I guess they could upload GL at some point, I don't know.
  15. It seemed like most of the soaps were trying to reinvent themselves at this point, sometimes with rich/poor dynamics. I think the O'Neills were brought in a few years before the Sanders. One of the problems was both these family only had one (at best) strong or popular character, and many others who were sketchily written, or quickly ushered out. I've always wondered how Louise Sorel might have worked out if she hadn't had that falling out with Paul Rauch.
  16. That look doesn't suit the poor woman on the left, although the other woman looks great. At first I thought Sascha would be a woman. I forget that's also a man's name.
  17. Welcome to the board. I'm always so surprised to see a new poster here. I haven't watched Eastenders in quite a while, and this part of the board is barely going. I'm glad you'll be able to keep this side up.
  18. Andrew Lincoln narrated the Sherlock Holmes special on PBS last night. I was a little surprised at how quickly I recognized his accent.
  19. Frank Darabont is suing AMC for profits. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr-esq/fired-walking-dead-creator-frank-666176 Considering the many shifty things that have been said about this network, he probably has a solid basis. I didn't really enjoy his run on the show myself, but he did help start it up.
