ALL: Temporary Replacements
Brenda's hair is very Jess here. It's...flat by Brenda standards.

I'd like to know that too. I guess one of the problems is Jeanne was so much of Katherine, even at this point when the writing was stronger.

ALL: Temporary Replacements
This is amazing. She's OK, but I can see why Bill Bell decided never to recast Katherine again. Her work in the Sven scenes is particularly off. Was that Danny at the end of the opening? Was he wearing a Sonny Bono fur vest? I didn't realize she temped when Philip was there. Sven really isn't what I'd expected. I thought he would be a hunky Swedish man, not a generic toothy guy with a long face and no real charisma. He reminds me of Michael McDonald.

The Walking Dead: Discussion Thread
I think that was a replacement for longer, gory scenes of an extended murder for her. The whole thing was just...ugh. I still wish we'd seen more of her post-Governor. Even if she left the show, I would have been OK with that, but I kind of hated that she died and he lived (for a while anyway). I also feel like they wasted the potential of her friendship with Michonne. Milton was a cute guy. Stupid, but cute.

I knew about the fall and addiction (I watched most of the addiction part) but didn't realize she'd miscarried a child then too. I also didn't realize she'd said she loved Jack as a brother. Ouch. It's a shame that they felt like the only believable way Jack and Nikki would stay together was multiple pregnancies.

The Walking Dead: Discussion Thread
I remember hearing that the walkers were cut back on in season 2, because of budget cuts, but I do think they made what we saw count. The show has been tonally different in every season. The current episodes seem to be a somewhat awkward hybrid of every season. I loved Jim but I don't think I will ever cringe as much at this show as I did at that whole, "It was in my dream!!" scene at the end of Vatos. Geez.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
He really does sound just like Alfie. To me it's kind of sad seeing such downmarket, trashy people running The Vic. I guess Kat and Alfie were that way too, but I didn't feel like the show was pushing the Shameless element with them as much as they are with this family. I hope that kiss between Gary Lucy and that weird looking twink was less awkward onscreen. If EE wants ratings I'm not sure why they cast Danny Dyer. He's widely disliked.

Doctor Who
So... I've become accustomed to the show having no real plotline, or if there is one, the plotline confusing me (did they want to kill the planet or was that a ruse to kill the Doctor?), so I went into this not expecting anything along those lines. In that context, I was able to enjoy more of the episode, mostly the emotional scenes with the Doctor and Handles (I hope he was buried beside Kamelion's remains...), and the Doctor and Clara. Clara's role seems to be similar to some of the lesser old school companions (complete with being asked to leave the room), but JLC gave a lovely performance. She's really done well here and in the anniversary special, as they've dropped some of the banter and one-liners. I was uncomfortable with the way Tasha Lem was treated - essentially, a horny woman hitting on the Doctor, a woman tortured and murdered because of the Doctor, a woman who only managed to regain control because of the Doctor, and the Doctor using Clara to make her jealous. I've heard a lot of theories that she's River Song, which I'd rather not believe - I think if we see River again it should be Alex Kingston. I hope we'll see more of Clara's father and her relationship with him. The Amy/Doctor scene was a little rushed for me, and the music in these scenes (especially the post-regeneration scene) drowned out the dialogue for me, but I'm glad Karen agreed to return. The moment was touching. The Doctor's speech about how he will always remember this incarnation was a classy, appropriate way to handle regeneration, superbly played by Matt Smith. Smith has never let me down as the Doctor and this episode was no exception. He hurt himself during filming but still his performance wasn't affected. The scenes in the Christmas town were a great showcase of everything he brought to the role - boyishness, joy, and the heart of a warrior under the facade of a clown. He also continued to do a wonderful job with child actors. I'm really going to miss him. I think he could have lasted a few more years, but I can see why he wanted to go to other career ventures, and I wish him well. This is a chance for the show to start fresh, especially with Clara, so I look forward to seeing that happen.

I always wondered if that story was supposed to go somewhere else but they dropped it. The whole thing was always a little strange.

Rituals
Watching those clips...this show had very broad comedy. Oof. Who is playing the woman at the justice of peace? She looks so familiar to me. I didn't see anything in the recaps about the story with Patty and Bernhardt. Do we know how it ended? Was this after the story with Julia? Patty is annoying, but then so is the material. Tina Louise is better than I thought she'd be.

Looks like some sort of Sunset Beach fan event, I guess from the late 90s, as I also see John Littlefield (Gary, AW) there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0yPU0Ciklg

Thanks for finding that. Can't wait to watch it. Not sure if this was already posted, but it's the Rituals opening. (quite generic) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpbGYsO1YGg

Glenn really changed in personality, probably more than any other character on the show. It doesn't bother me (I know some Glenn fans hate it), but it's very noticeable.

ALL: Temporary Replacements
I think the traumatic nature of the story got to him. I don't know if he ever talked that much about it. The person who runs that channel said he's an organic farmer now, I think.

ALL: Temporary Replacements
Some of Marc Wolf's temp episodes as Brent/Marion are being uploaded. This must have been one of the most difficult temp roles ever, as he had to fill in during the climax of the story, none of which he'd played. I can't remember if this is his first stint or his second.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
This thread is mostly full of people who watch the show solely for Lisa. I'm sure a lot of viewers do love her and watch the show for her, but in terms of overall viewers, and her career outside of the show, it's not a great look. I'm surprised she hadn't already distanced herself from Brandi by this point in filming. I know some feel it's because Brandi might have known things. I don't think it's that as much as she probably felt sorry for Brandi and saw her as harmless. Brandi probably is harmless, overall, as she's just damaging herself, but that type of behavior (not just the thing with Joyce - everything Brandi does) is somewhat toxic and creates a stench,
