Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Garcelle didn't say anything bad, she answered questions. She said Kyle was the least welcoming which makes sense considering Kyle missed lots of events flying back and forth to film Halloween. That plus her fashion line and obviously she wouldn't have a chance to get to know Garcelle as well as the others. And she's the longest running housewife, *of course* she'd have the biggest ego. You would think Garcelle said she is some evil drunken bitch lol. I hope she gets over it though because Garcelle will tear her up at the reunion. She is too well spoken and classy for the likes of Kyle and Brandi to compete.

The Doctors Discussion Thread
I'm so confused with the app. I want to get a subscription, but from what I can see from the preview it only has up to 1970. If I get the subscription does it has the episodes going further than that? I had stopped watching in 71 so I'm trying to get back to where I was.

Perry Mason HBO reboot with Matthew Rhys and Tatiana Maslany
CBS All Access keeps telling me to watch Perry Mason and I love old stuff so I've been thinking about it. I wasn't thrilled with this trailer, but I can see myself watching it. At the very least this has inspired me to watch the original.

They showed more of Eileen and Erika on Y&R than they did of DAYS. I think we will see Denise on B&B. It’s only episode one lol.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
The Beverly Hills premiere was *excellent*! This was on par with the fabulous season 5 reboot and felt more like the glory years. You can tell by the flashbacks they through out a lot of footage, but it seems that they picked the right starting point and will likely have momentum to carry the season. The Newbies - Both Sutton (who it pains me isn't an official HW) and Garcelle are EXCELLENT casting choices. Sutton's husband must've really done a number on them because she dominated her scenes. I love that neither felt like any of the former HWs and they brought something new to the table. Sutton as the ultra rich Southern Belle fit in perfectly. I had no idea she was so wealthy until I saw her house tour and seeing her shop in the Dolce apartment was pretty epic. You could see Lisa Rinna seething. Now Garcelle I have always liked, but I didn't know how well she'd fit in with these ladies. She was very funny, GORGEOUS and seems very strong willed. She will be just fine. I also live for how opinionated she is and how she stands in it. If yall didn't watch WWHL I highly recommend it. She does *not* like Kyle lol. Erika and Dorit - I find both useless most of the time, but they were more open and natural in this premiere. If they can keep this going then I can get behind them again. I particularly liked the shade Dorit was throwing at Kyle. I'm curious if Kyle will find out and how she'll react to that. I thought it was very cute when Erika called Tom for legal advice. Lisa Rinna and Kyle - I feel out of everybody they felt the most stale. Rinna hasn't had a storyline probably since season 6 or 7. Without Kim and LVP she has very little in terms of natural story or relationships to contribute. We know she wants to stay and is totally acting so I'm sure she'll weasel her way in by being nosey. Kyle has just become so bland. Being the last one standing is pure luck, but she is just there as a glue to hold the show together. I don't expect much from her either. Teddi - Why is she still there? Denise - I feel this is going to be a breakout season for her. Viewers hate a gang up and regardless of what may or may not happened with Brandi, I think it reflects more poorly on her to reveal this, clearly out of desperate for a Diamond. I hope that Denise remains strong and ends this season on top. I love the natural and laid back quality she brings. She's a scrappy person, but seems kind. I look forward to seeing her relationship with Garcelle develop. All in all they set the stage well. The end with the flash forward was well edited, but I don't even want to think about that just yet. We know that we're *weeks* from that. We probably won't even seet hat until episode 15 or later. I'm more invested in seeing how Sutton and Garcelle continue to shake things up. This has really been a great year for Bravo when it comes to new HWs.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
That Wendy promo is amazing! I love that as a newbie they gave her a promo. Whoever casts Potomac should be in charge of all the series because they’ve never had a bad HW. In particular I feel their casting director could give OC and NYC some love. RHOBH: If you don’t wanna watch the interview, the article has cliff notes! Garcelle is bringing the excitement for me. I think she’ll be a hit. I particularly love that she clearly doesn’t like Kyle, Teddi and Dorit lol. I didn’t expect that but I can’t wait for it. She seems very straight forward so I guess it makes sense she wouldn’t like them since they’re (along with Rinna) the fake ones IMO. I still wonder which role Kyle will be playing this season since it always seems to change these days. Another interesting thing was that she said despite knowing Rinna, that Rinna was different from how she has known her in real life.

Coronavirus/Covid-19 Discussion Thread
I agree. It's sad hearing her in interviews now say the same damn thing she was saying when she was running and nobody listened to any of it, yet we're seeing that much of it would be useful *right now.* It's just insane how short-sighted people are.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
@Cheap21 Sutton filmed the entire season as a HW, even filmed an intro (a clip of that is included in the video above) and then her ex-husband threatened to sue Bravo over featuring her kids so they demoted her. It was very last minute so the wives have said how disappointing it was bc it wasn't expected.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
More positive buzz about Sutton. It really does seem like if her husband didn’t screw things up she would’ve been a good HW. I hope the edit still reflects that.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I actually like Garcelle’s intro look. The only good tag lines are Garcelle and Denise. I also Like that Denise got the final slot. I hope that despite the drama she comes out strong. She seems like such a nice person that I feel bad she got caught up with Brandi of all people. If anybody can handle these bitches it’s Denise! Also, I’m disappointed with the title of the first episode. LVP truly left mid season last year and we got an extensive convo about her at the reunion. Why would she even be brought up in the premiere? She’s gone. Get over it. They wanted her to leave anyway. Hopefully they get that out of the way episode one. I like LVP, but I will not miss her at all. Her story came to an end. These women need to stand on their own two feet for once.

LOL! In case y’all haven’t heard RHOA is doing an online reunion. This picture is a joke but I imagine the real result won’t be much better. Nene and Kim had to cancel their Instagram video chat tonight because Nene couldn’t figure out how to press the join button to merge their videos together. I feel for the poor interns who have to help them set up the tech for this reunion!

As The World Turns Discussion Thread
Even if you take the rerun aspect out, P&G is stupid for not going to Hallmark or Lifetime and doing ongoing movies for their canceled soaps. Both networks have a built in system to churn out those films and they have a built in audience. You could literally take any group of characters and throw them into movies about almost anything. Plus it keeps the brand alive. It's as if these people don't want to make money.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
This premiere was great. It was a slight refresh since the majority of the cast is back, but the lack of Bethenny opened up the show so much and the energy was better. I did not miss her one but. I also feel others like Tinsley benefitted from Bethenny being gone. The newbies Elyse and Leah - Both were good. Leah fit in perfectly and seems like a unique addition that can hold her own. Elyse feels more low key like when they'd have real friends of the girls come on. Not quite HW material, but I appreciate her presence. Love her accent as well. They did well with both newbies! Ramona, Sonja and Luann were all delightful. Dorinda is over the top as always and you can tell she's going to be the bad guy. You can also tell it's her fault lol. Bethenny's exit is going to allow them more time to focus on Dorinda being an [!@#$%^&*]. I look forward to this! Also since we know it's Tinsley's swan song I feel like she won't bother me as much.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
@Cat, when it comes to talking heads they aren't finished filming yet. I know Camille mentioned that she was supposed to do them but isn't anymore so she doesn't think she'll appear much. I would imagine Brandi will have talking heads though. A big issue is that Bravo only has the first 5-6 episodes ready to go. With Corona going on they don't know how they'll be able to finish the talking heads. According to the article I saw, Bravo prefers to do the talking heads as the season goes because the women are more candid once they start watching and hearing what everybody is saying. I just hope they figure out editing and the talking heads so we don't get any interuptions for NY, Potomac or BH. It's bad enough we've been waiting.

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
@All My Shadows, the Emmerdale episodes on Amazon are brand new. I was shocked when I saw that and it looks like they are complete years. Considering it's a pretty big stretch and I've enjoyed the show before I've decided to watch it. The first few episodes were VERY VERY slow. Production values and styling on the show are also very dated. I struggled so much that I decided to research this period and it seems where the episodes start is when the show was trying to transition from a slow rural soap to the Emmerdale we know today. Towards the end of the first batch of episodes is their big plane crash story I heard about. This allowed them to get rid of dead weight and amp things up and from what I've seen it was successful. Knowing that's coming I'm going to stick with it at least a couple months into the post-plane crash show.

The Politics Thread
I also feel like the "enthusiasm" argument is part of the media pushing a horse race for ratings. We went through this in 2016 and are again--Bernie is *NOT* as popular as the media makes him out to be. His people whine about him getting unfair press coverage, but like any republican running for office, he gets pass after pass due to "fairness." This cycle he raised more money than anybody and had a built in grassroots movement and tons of good press and STILL couldn't win. Bernie gets lots of excitement on social media, but it is not translating into votes. Young people love them, but where are they when it comes time to vote? They kick and scream because he's losing, but the numbers don't lie. The latest thing is that they say voter suppression, but nobodies vote is suppressed more than the black community and they ALWAYS come out in droves to vote. They just didn't vote for Bernie. Black voters came out in such big numbers that Biden has swept this primary. The media has spent 4 years interviewing Trump voters and talking about how to win over more white people and completely ignored black voters AGAIN. The result isn't a surprise. Bernie didn't even TRY to win these voters over. If the media were being real and not trying to get ratings they would be saying what a horrible candidate Bernie has been. I'm so tired of him and the conspiracy theories.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Re: Talking Head Looks Kyle - Looks great without the bangs, but with the bangs that is her worst look ever. Denise, Sutton - Simple, but I think it works and will look good in motion. I'm *really* excited for Sutton, especially after the house tour Bravo posted. I think she'll be a good surprise. Lisa Rinna - Not crazy about the dress, but she looks GREAT! That hair should be her natural hair. She needs to let go that tired, dated lion mane she normally wears. I don't care if it's her signature, grow and move on. Garcelle - GORGEOUS! From her instagram I love her style and both of her looks are simple, but glam and I love her hair in both. With Garcelle she is someone I feel always looks nice, but she isn't trying. It never feels like she's wearing a costume or TRYING to be seen. Dorit/Erika - They're the opposite of the effortlessness you see from Garcelle. Both are gorgeous and we know you can do fashion, but it's trying too hard and both of their looks look like costumes. Money can't buy you class and it can't buy you taste either. That aside, I am *so* excited for Beverly Hills!

Married to Medicine
I'm excited for this. I thought season one was an easy watch and it looks like it'll continue to be good. I still hate that Houston was wasted on Friday and never given a shot. They had such a good, diverse cast and it was entertaining. Bravo missed out on having another broad franchise when they dumped Houston.

The NYC taglines I actually found very strong. Leah, Ramona and Luann were all excellent and I LOVE Dorinda screaming hers for some bizarre reason lol. I'm looking forward to a fun season from them.

Coronavirus/Covid-19 Discussion Thread
I muted him on Twitter to avoid seeing things like that, but it does seem dire. The irony is that republicans in the senate seem to be the ones having to quarantine and seem to be in more danger because they simply aren't taking this seriously. I worry with the Senate that things will get worse for all of them due to the lack of pre cautions being taken. Then so many people are still taking this too lightly assuming they'll get government checks. I havent' been counting on that because we know how full of it these people are. As we can see by the bill they're trying to pass, it's likely most Americans won't get anything and the businesses will be the ones saved. If that happens I can't imagine how Americans will react.

Primetime Soaps
Via Youtube I've been re-watching Knots Landing and the page I use has started adding some short lived soaps so I've started on those as well. So far I've found CPW, Pacific Palisades, Paper Dolls, 2000 Malibu Road and Savannah. SO far I've watched CPW, Palisades and just started Malibu Road. Pacific Palisades - This was the first I watched and I'd seen it before so it wasn't a surprise or anything. I will say, this was is very enjoyable in a Melrose Place meets Knots Landing sort of way, but the cast is very hit or miss. Also I find it odd that considering how amazing the writing staff is that the show wasn't better. You literally had writers from both of the best eras of Knots Landing on the show, but it was largely forgettable. I also think casting Joan Collins as an American faking her accent was silly when you had Finola Hughes on the show. Also considering Finola's character had rich parents it would've made more sense to cast Joan as her mother. All in all this was a fun watch, but understandable why it ended. Central Park West/CPW - This is one of the most iconic flops considering how high profile and expensive it was. In the end it was obviously just on the wrong network because this show was EXCELLENT. Well written and well cast. I'd love a reboot of this. Because of the lack of success they did a massive retool which including changing the name. CPW was TERRIBLE. One of the worst things I've ever seen. It was turned into a dated, disjointed copy of Dynasty down to the plot points. Raquel Welch was horrific and most of the promising young cast was wasted with the retool. 2000 Malibu Road - I've only seen the two hour premiere, but this was really interesting. It had it's own identity and I couldn't really place it in terms of similarities to any of the other primetime soaps. It's a shame CBS didn't have faith in the show because I feel it could've gone on for years. This holds up well. From what I gather this was a surprise ratings hit, but CBS had let the casts options expire (thinking it would flop) and they couldn't get everything back together to renew the show. Lisa Hartman Black is EXCELLENT here in a role very different from both of her Knots Landing roles. Tuesday Knight is another surprise as Drew Barrymore's crazy sister. Lots of familiar soap faces as well. So far I've seen Robin Strasser, Scott Bryce and Brian Bloom pop up. Next I think I will watch Paper Dolls which I haven't seen in years. I have Savannah on DVD but I remember getting bored and never finishing it so that one I will probably watch last.
