AT CORY PRODUCTIONS…

Iris sits at her desk and takes out one of the CDs she received from Cory, and it’s labeled “Play me”, so she puts it in her laptop….It’s Tucker McCall.

Tucker: Hello darlin’ if you’re watching this, I’m probably dead, or playin’ dead. I know what happened with your new and old younger brother, and I’m here to give you one last push. I gotta admit, you’re gonna have to think of something quick, because you know it’s just a matter of time. Michael is gonna request a hearing to try and getcha out, but I got all the confidence in you. I always have. You’ll come out of this smellin’ like a fresh rose. Go get em girl.

Iris (looking up): Oh Tucker what the hell am I supposed to come up with? Michael can kick me clean out of Cory Productions, and I’m sure Matt is pushing him.

She notices a copy of Brava Magazine on her desk and smiles.

AT PAULINA’S…

Dante is preparing for work.

Paulina: Honey you didn’t finish your breakfast.

Dante: I gotta get to the station. Can’t be late on my first day.

Paulina: You’re gonna need all your strength and concentration so you need to eat the rest of your food. Jack will understand.

Dante: You used to say that when I was a kid, but I’m not anymore mom.

Paulina (sighing): You’re right. My baby’s all grown up, but I’m still your mother, and I’m not gonna stop being that.

Dante: And I appreciate it so much. Wish me luck.

Paulina: You’ll do great. I love you.

Dante: Love you, too.

Dante kisses Paulina on her cheek and walks out the door, but Paulina notices something….

Paulina: Dante honey you forgot your bag.

Paulina opens the door and there’s Matthew.

Paulina: Matthew. Hi. What’s going on?

Matthew: May we come in?

Paulina: We? Who else is with you?

Michael appears.

Paulina (shocked): Oh my!

Amanda sits at a table and flashes back to Operation Loco, and seeing Iris and Cory hug in Iris’s office. Then Allen touches Amanda’s shoulder.

Allen: Hey beautiful.

Amanda: Oh. Hey.

Allen: Wow, I thought I’d get a warmer reception. Something on your mind?

MEANWHILE, ACROSS THE CENTER AT ANOTHER TABLE...Charlie and Lindsay talk….

Lindsay: You must be excited about the wedding.

Charlie: Yes I most certainly am.

Lindsay: How did your parents take the news?

Charlie: Mom was good about it. Dad? Not so much.

Lindsay: How are they doing?

Charlie: It seems like they’re coming together, but I don’t know what’s gonna happen after Christy Carson’s hearing today.

Cass: Here we are.

Frankie: I can see that.

Frankie (looking out the window): There’s nothing for us to discuss as far as that’s concerned.

Cass: You didn’t say much on the way down here.

Frankie: Cass we can’t agree on anything these days, and I don’t like it.

Cass: Do you think I’m enjoying this? I went to see her yesterday. She hasn’t changed at all. She’s still as conniving as she ever was.

Frankie: We’d better get in the courtroom or we’re gonna be late.

INSIDE PAULINA’S HOUSE...

Paulina: Michael? What? When?

Michael: Long story. I promise I’ll explain to you later.

Paulina: Have you seen Donna? Vicky? Marley?

Michael: Donna knows, but my daughters don’t. I don’t want them to until this is over.

Paulina: Til what’s over?

Matthew: Getting Iris out of Cory Productions.

Paulina: I’m all for that, but what do you have to do with this Michael?

Matthew gives Paulina the birth certificate.

Paulina: What? You?

Michael: I’m Mac’s eldest child.

Paulina: Wow. This means that according to the will, you would be awarded full control of Cory, right?

Matthew: That’s correct.

Paulina: Wait a minute, weren’t you and Iris…

Michael: Iris is adopted.

Matthew: Before we schedule the hearing, we need to have your vote to get her out.

Paulina: Hmm let’s see. Let me think about it. Okay, you’ve got it. Let’s get that bitch out of our father’s company.

Matthew: She threatened to tie the company up in litigation for years.

Paulina: That will is binding. She’s not gonna have a leg to stand on.

Michael: And we need to get the hearing soon, because for some reason, I don’t think we can count her out. She’s gonna try and fight back.

Suddenly all their cell phones chime one after the other.

Michael: What’s this?

Paulina (looking at her phone): From Iris?

Matthew: She wants to meet us at her office.

Amanda: Nothing.

Allen: Uh huh.

Amanda: It’s just some...stuff at work. Nothing I can’t handle. So how did everything go?

Allen: You’re looking at the new Executive Director of Programming at KBAY.

Amanda: Well congratulations babe! Donna will be thrilled.

Allen: Even though she doesn’t own the station anymore, she still was able to put in a good word for me. I was wondering if we could...celebrate tonight.

Amanda: Of course.

Amanda’s cell phone vibrates...

Amanda: It’s from Iris. She’s summoning me to her office.

Allen: Duty calls huh?

Amanda kisses Allen.

Amanda: See ya later babe.

Cass and Frankie sit as they look forward at the judge’s bench.

Cass (leaning to his left toward Frankie): We’re not on the same page with Charlie marrying Kirkland either.

Frankie (leaning to her right toward Cass): You’re not willing to let go. Charlie’s not ten years old.

Cass: She’s not thirty either. She’s still young and she’s got her whole life ahead of her.

Frankie: We’re going to have to let her make her own mistakes. All we can do is support her and be there for when she needs us.

The bailiff walks out to the court.

Bailiff: All rise! The Honorable Judge Blake will be presiding over this proceeding. The State of Illinois vs. Christina Carson.

Judge Blake takes his seat and then the side door opens, as two guards escort Christy out, and Christy makes eye contact with Cass and Frankie.

Amanda: What are you all doing here?

Paulina: We got Iris’s text. You don't seem shocked to see Michael?

Amanda: Yes Matthew told me all about it.

Michael: She’s up to something.

Iris walks in.

Iris: Thank you all for coming, because you are going to want to hear what I have to say.
