I always thought at the time Wheeler took over and recast Marina with that simpering cutie girl, that we didn't need another Cooper and they should have brought Sam back as a lawyer. With Dinah back they could have been "sisters" and of course, Dinah would be jealous of the hardworking Sam. Of course at this time I would have made the Marlers the core family (Coopers were never meant to be core, sorry Hurst and the Bauers were un savable at this point) as JVD earned the right to be the patriarch of the show.

I don't really understand Sophia's entire plan still. What is her endgame here? Break up Tate and Holly? Hurt Johnny/Chanel? Stay in Bayview forever and not speak? What was the point of her and Rachel? Where is her mom? None of it makes sense and it doesn't help that Rachel Boyd is terrible.

I think after all this time I’m just tired of the characters on the show. I’d definitely let Thorsten Kaye bang me but I just don’t like him as Ridge. Or the writing; this back and forth of “get lost, go retire!” To “where’s dad? He doesn’t even come by here anymore?!”

Sam and Dante were fine. They didn't bother me. They just were there being unoffensive and boring.
As far as Dante/Lulu, the stall has been far too long. Sam's been dead for over a year and the show hasn't even hinted at romance for Dante period. I think there is a clear disdain for Lulu as a character and a real agenda to make her look as bad as possible as she is now creeping in on her best friend's husband. I get FV didn't want to beef up the Spencers and drove JJ out quickly, but I feel like Havins will hang on so at least use her.

I liked Sam/Dante, but they needed some drama which Lulu coming out of her coma would have done. But we know how things turned out.

That's what I've been saying, too. And why I totally agree with Vee as well. There is no reason (I repeat NO REASON) why a couple that was as popular as Dante/Lulu were have made no progress or had little scenes to either explain why they aren't together or to tease out a reunion without agendas afoot. For better or for worse, they were a frontburner couple that also got story separately consistently. And people still want them together and played by actor/ress that can act. Now they barely have scenes. Something is up.

I honestly have never noticed any chemistry between the Liz/Dante. They are both charismatic actors so they can probably make it work. I just don't see any drama there. It would be another version of Sam/Dante which was pretty much always dull until she died lol.
Dante has been directionless for a long time. It's a shame. It's crazy to think the show was all Dante all the time several years ago. DZ can obviously carry story. I assume Dante and BLQ will hook up once Brook catches Chase/Willow together and Brook Lynn will probably get pregnant and we will have another baby story. Yay!
The show really is avoiding Dante/Lulu at all costs, but I think your reasoning is correct.
