Scrubs Surgeon Joins As the World Turns

As the World Turns has cast Scrubs actor Robert Maschio in the short-term role of Maddie's brother-in-law, Louis Browning. Louis will try to help young Maddie (Alexandra Chando) with her mental problems stemming from her long-ago rape. Expect Louis to butt heads with Maddie's protective big brother, Henry (Trent Dawson).

On Scrubs, Maschio plays "The Todd," an obnoxious surgeon at Sacred Heart Hospital who just loves high-fiving people all the time.

I bet this guy turns out to be Maddie's real rapist. And probably the serial killer too. And I wouldn't be surprised if Eve is one of the victims. All my speculation.

Do Henry and Maddie have another sister? How is Louis her and/or their BIL?

Supposedly there are 8 or 9 Coleman siblings so they have a big family. I was under the impression that Maddie was living with her parents before Oakdale, but now they are saying she was staying with Eve and Louis.

That is a very good speculation, two of the murders have a connection to Maddie. And as for Louis being Maddie's rapist, it would explain why she was always in her room. To avoid him.

Either way I can't wait till next week where is starts to develop more.

I was thinking that exact same things while watching today.

Argh. Now I feel like I can't enjoy the storyline because, knowing this, I have a feeling that what Roger is saying is true.

At times like this, I wish the internet didn't exist. Honestly.

It seems like an obvious conclusion to me, so maybe they're are bringing on Eve and Louis just to confuse things. No actual spoilers say that he is involved other than he comes to town.

In her flash backs it shows nothing about being at a party. Maybe he really is the rapest. If true, she had to live with him for a while and another reason why she doesn't want to go back with Eve.

This sl is really good. I'm not sure if the brother in law is the rapist, but that's a good theory.

I totally never thought of the brother-in-law being Maddie's rapist-great theory :)

I'm liking this SL so far, and it's great to see Henry & Maddie bonding

OMG, "The Todd"? I'll be cracking up every time I see him on my screen.

I think you guys just may be on to something here with Louis as the rapist/murderer....sounds mighty suspicious that Maddie just stayed in her room all the time, something's not adding up here.

If Eve and Louis aren't here to either be killed off or involved with Maddie's rape, I don't think they would have brought them on. ATWT is too cheap to bring in extended family for support only. Plus, this is a rewrite of Maddie's backstory, so there has to be a reason.

I'm thinking Louis killed Lia and will frame Maddie so that if she admits he raped her, no one will believe her.

As a former OLTL watcher who followed Roger Howarth here, I find this funny. I think of the "Todd". I look at Paul. I think Paul is a rapist.

Just the way my mind works.
