You were a better kid than I. lol. I vaguely remember the Ward house, but that sounds like such a beautiful scene to watch, but you know how much I love Laura. :)

It ended up being their house/Laura’s house. Laura had what seemed like fantasies of a young black family living here with their children while they were hiding there from Frank Smith. Months later we learn it was the Ward house before Bradley died. It was one of those “feelings” Laura used to have that were borderline psychic but never fully explained. Laura even digs up Bradley’s bones while gardening IIRC, setting up the story with Mary Mae Ward and Edward. I miss writing like that.

Hmmmmm foreshadowing.

BTG might have its flaws, but one thing that I really loved in its first year was the amount of foreshadowing that MVJ had done...something that was made clear when CBS would do its repeats of episodes last year.

My favourite big soap moment will always be the moment on B&B when years of tension and growing animosity between Brooke and Stephanie finally exploded during the BeLief story. That whole story was excellent, with Stephanie's hatred for Brooke being the cause of her own undoing. She was the driving force behind the attempt by the Forresters to trick Brooke into signing over her rights to the patent without her ever knowing the whole story. But the manipulations and dirty tricks backfired not once but twice during the story, and that was finally one time too many. Brooke confronted the Forresters and got slapped by Stephanie, not for the first time. But this time she didn't take it lying down and slapped Stephanie right back and had to be dragged out by Connor to stop things from escalating even more. All this ultimately ended with Brooke seizing controlling interest in Forrester Creations, and Stephanie and Eric only had themselves to blame for that.

This was more than 30 years ago, and it's still the best story in B&B history, by far.

Bill Bell's last hurrah before he passed the reigns to Bradley.

I've always looked upon "Cruise of Deception" as being the last gasp of classic, '80's DAYS, even though it happened in '90. I loved it

Many Days fans I know consider the shipwreck the last big action/adventure storyline of the supercouple era.

Reilly and his sci-fi storylines.

Y&R: Scenes I never thought I would see. In reading old synopsis/summaries of Lorie finding about Leslie's pregnancy, you kind of picture Lorie seeing Leslie step from the shower and Lorie coldly/smugly saying "Just how pregnant are you Leslie". while being somewhat composed. When I finally got to see the scenes OMG WOW ! Those summaries does not do them justice. Lorie goes ape crap and has a screaming meltdown at a cowering Leslie. I kept waiting for Lorie to start physically assaulting her. Good thing Lucas comes in and pretty much nearly puts her in a headlock while she's still raging.

Leslie was on the verge of collapse and Lorie was shrieking. That confrontation would have been more powerful without those elements.

Another memorable Y&R confrontation was Nikki/Ashley at the ranch where Nikki confronts Ashley about being involved with Victor. Nikki gets all in Ashley's face and Ashley is trying to hold it together.

It's probably not high on anybody's list, but I saw the tornado on AMC when it first aired. That was a time when soaps had a budget to make scenes like that effective.

B&B — Lauren and Sheila duking it out near the jacuzzi. The confrontation had been brewing for months/years and it finally all came to a head. I may be mistaken but I think the episode ended with Sheila murdering Lauren by holding her head under the jacuzzi water. It felt with all certainty that the writers had killed off Lauren Fenmore in an epic battle. I remember I was so pumped and also somehow drained after the show ended, I snuck a cigarette in the upstairs bathroom. I was like 17 or 18 and not allowed to smoke in the house. But I NEEDED a smoke after that! Ultimately, Lauren’s death was only Sheila’s dream/fantasy, but to this day it is still my most vividly remembered soap moment.

No, that wasn't a dream. Lauren used the air vent in the jacuzzi to breathe when Sheila tried to drown her. Sheila thought she had killed her and while she was on the phone to Mike Lauren got up, hit Sheila over the head with a vase and escaped.

Oh yeah that’s right! My memory is spotty, having not seen those episodes since they aired. I do remember it was a fake-out because they really made it seem like Lauren was dead as the episode concluded.

What is a big soap moment you saw years later on YouTube or somewhere else that was still able to thrill?

From GL, Roger chasing Rita through the hall of mirrors. It is creepy and suffocating watching Rita (who is heavily pregnant) trying to get away and squeezing through the constricted paths. "Enough is Enough" just adds to the atmosphere.

The holler I just let out!

Lol! I was a kid, but I felt like Lily might have gotten out of the car or something? It's pretty ruthless to kill off a young, pregnant, school teacher even if her character was legitimately awful. Definitely not mad that she's still dead dead though.

You know what? It still holds up in my mind 'til this day. Outside of Erica Kane and my mother mentioning her, I had no interest in AMC. UNTIL that happened and my eyes falling on Sydney Penny for the first time with no idea of Julia's backstory. The tornado was so good that I kept up the 'habit' afterwards to be sure how Julia was...and just fell in love with the whole town. And Erica of course. And I saw that live as a teen so I totally agree.

Lol. I know you grew out of it, but it never not get a giggle out of me how much you shade Lily when it comes to Clink Boom. But that might be my love of Brenda and fun shade showing. I really didn't like Lily as a teen, either. I really need to sit down and watch scenes some time to see if I care more as an adult. Because even now to this day, I can't sit down and watch SJB Carly scenes with Robin and not be taken back to how much I loathed her. Even as an adult. Part of the reason I was happy to see Liz matched her energy perfectly. An 'angel' with claws? Who knew?

The 1994 tornado was so iconic and really agree that it should be towards top of the list. I think they won the Directing Emmy for that alone.

I have many other AMC moments haha... I'll try to post them later this weekend when I have time.

That's how I'm feeling. ;) Running in and out due to work and I'm sure more moments will occur to me.

Lily is extremely passive aggressive and went after Sonny full well knowing he was still in love with Brenda. Then was sad when she made her daddy buy her a husband and he was STILL in love with Brenda lol. How did Lily think this was going to go? She also did annoying things like make Robin her bridesmaid. She basically tried to steal Brenda's life. Lily did have really cute sweater and dress sets that I covet in 2026 so there's that for her.
