Black representation on the soaps is a problem.

Frankly, "a problem" is putting it too mildly. When it comes to the soaps, we're practically unicorns! In fact, I'd venture to say your chances of finding a literal unicorn on any soap are greater than finding even one character of color doing the heavy lifting on any soap that isn't BTG.

Like a lot of characters on GH, the Black folks are just there. I appreciate that Valentini has made keeping Black characters/actors of multiple generations on the show when other regimes did not. Now are they used properly? No. In good stories? Not very often. But again, they are there and they do give them stuff to do and I would describe Portia as a B level lead, she’s pretty consistently in stories that play every week. We see Portia more in her own stories and crossing over thanks to the hospital and being blackmailed by Drew than we did from the infamous Winter’s Wednesdays on Y&R!

But we are a long ways away from the layered storytelling from Labine of the Ward family. They had actual major stories connected to Luke & Laura and the Quartermaines with the mystery about Bradley and the incinerator project in the neighborhood, Justus running for office. Even back then though, it hinged so much on Rosalind Cash and Mary Mae than the family pretty much collapsed without her there.

I will say that I think Donnell Turner has something whenever Curtis is the vindictive heavy. Ever since late '24 when he came into money and power at Aurora and began scheming with Michael against Drew, he's seemed more than his usual phoned-in self when he's doing white collar skullduggery or out for petty vengeance.

I agree, he seemed to be much more invested in that and it felt like he had an actual character again. And he does love scenes with Genie Francis, which many of us have noted before!

The only ones I'd keep are Portia and Trina. The rest are nobodies to me. (Curtis might make a good short term heavy but that's it at this point IMO) I'd repopulate with others, including some Wards.

Great scenes today with Gio and Rocco - both actors nailed it.

Great cliffhanger too! Those kids are in over their heads haha.

Stella, too? I think the Tracy friendship and the actress' pedigree give me pause on getting rid of her too hastily.

I haven't watched regularly. <snip> When did Nina learn of Willow's plan and when did Nina decide to assist her?

I sincerely want to know -- when did Nina learn of -- and then become part of -- the plot to keep Drew immobile?

I was referring to the contract players. Stella I have no problem with keeping around. (In fact, I might have her shoot Curtis in a whodunit lol)

Weeks ago. She's desperately wants Willow to love her

I'd ditch Stella too. She's fine with certain people like Tracy, but she annoys the crap out of me with Curtis, Portia, and Jordan. She's so highly invested in the Ashford family all being happy and getting along. Stop meddling. These people are almost 50.

Thanks for the reply to my question. I didn't care for desperate Nina when I was watching more regularly, sorry to hear she's still that way.

Didn't Willow sort of lightly blackmail her into keeping the secret? I already can't remember the specifics haha, but I thought Nina was sort of strong-armed into it.

Hence why I'd have it end with Stella having to kill power-mad Curtis! Move it along!

Willow did indeed blackmail Nina.
