Wow, today's episode was great, because of the Dupree's. Anita broke my heart. Dani & Nicole at the club were the comic relief for me and the Scooby Doo gang were more interesting than usual.

I've been catching up this morning... And I have something bad to say... Something that I've said many times before but I'm starting to get annoyed again. Maybe because I'm watching OLTL 1993 simultaneously and the difference is so freaking stark.

These people need to figure this unnatural dialogue out. Like really figure this s-it out. The lines are way too stiff and long and people talk like they are in some sort of commercial at times. BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA. It's not that much to ask to edit this sh-t out and make it sound more human. And it's all throughout some episodes. I've still not written down the names of the exact dialogue writers that annoy me so much, but I'm close to doing it.

Hey @Maxim! ) It's interesting you reminded us of the 'headline of the week' style they had going a few months back. That was equally problematic in my view. We went from one extreme to the other. While the show is still wholesome and watchable, certainly not offensive, it's not must-watch TV. You piling up 10 episodes to catch up says a lot in that sense.

Hey heeeey. Well if my boss continues sending me so many things to edit... I'll end up a while month behind, haha. But yes I'm grateful we are pass the headline of the week first 6 months. I also like my shows a little snail 🐌 pace... Not gonna lie. I mean... So I understand how some people may be vexed with the show at this moment. But I do enjoy it.

The show's main script editor (Susan Dansby) is extremely weak.

Reading the dialogue aloud as she's editing (or even whispering the lines to herself as she reads them) should alert her that certain lines need to be purged entirely or, at the very least, a drastic rewrite to make them resemble real dialogue.

That's been a problem from Day One. The first five episodes of the series were supposedly written by Michele Val Jean, and the dialogue was often atrocious. Obviously no one edited those episodes. And it's set a certain clumsy tone in the dialogue that Susan Dansby has never bothered to rectify even after a year.

Do I enjoy the show? Yep. Does the dialogue need work? Yep.

I forgot to add that Iona Morris was exceptional today as well. Her and Tamara made great scene partners.

That was the only thing I enjoyed about the episode, even though it was heartbreaking and depressing at the same time.

That reminds me that I wanted to say how much I have loved the addition of Monica. Shanice gets family. And she's coming in how a newbie should come in...gradually. So far my favorite moments has been her Mama Joyce-ing Ted, telling SilkPress what time it is, and of course, yesterday's talk with Anita (yeah, I'm finally caught up. ;) )

original release date: Wednesday, March 25, 2026 | writers: Sara A. Bibel, Skyy Sandifer | director: Anthony Pascarelli

Thoughts:

  • It is tough hearing that Anita has chosen to stop her chemotherapy treatment, but it is ultimately her decision to do so. Her autonomy over her body and treatment.

  • Hayley does not look happy to know that Lynette and Randy have done the horizontal mambo together. At all.

  • I appreciate that Anita is opening up and softening to Ted and admire her advice regarding Eva and his other children (but can we mention Martin, please?). You can tell that despite it all, she still has love and admiration for him. And the same goes for Bill.

  • It breaks my heart seeing Vernon so heartbroken and lost at the idea of losing Anita. It is just devastating.

  • Talking about your previous cons in public... is a choice. I am hoping 'Barry' somehow comes to Fairmont Crest and confronts Hayley for her past deeds (under whatever name she used then).

  • A vacation...?! Damn. That is a big step. And a serious one, too!

  • Wow. Nicole is standing her ground against Anita and doubling down. That is a bold stance to take. But could it change Anita's mind at the end of the day?

  • Tomas, please trust your instincts where Lynette is concerned but do not allow Katherine to become involved; she is already insufferable where Laura's case is concerned. We do not need her involved with Lynette at the same time.

  • I am Shanice, and I say no to birds, bugs, and all of that. Give me a hotel with some air conditioning and room service, instead.

  • I swear if Hayley somehow manipulates herself into either being pregnant or appearing to be pregnant to lock Bill in... I may just lose my mind.

  • Tearing up those papers... my eyes are just flooded with tears. Omg. So powerful. Real powerful. Wow. What a moment.

Notes:

  • Bibel and Sandifer did a solid job today with their script. And Pascarelli had some really well-directed shots in the episode. Not too tight and not too wide. Just right.

  • Tamara Tunie (Anita) consistently demonstrates how to do the job correctly. However, Clifton Davis (Vernon), Daphnée Duplaix (Nicole), and Karla Mosley (Dani) stepped up and excelled. Wow. The core four were perfectly cast in their roles. No one else could have done what they are doing. This performance is... moving and heartwrenching.

  • If I see Keith D. Robinson (Ted) sit down one motherfücking time without unbuttoning his suit coat, I swear, I am going to lose my shït.
