It's not like this soap likes to dare that much...

I'm tired of Leslie. She's a completely different character than she was initially. And that's because they decided not to reign in Trisha's acting choices. I'm sorry but it's too much. She's the show's Phyllis.

Trisha no doubt takes liberties in how she portrays the character, but the writing itself is still shaky. Leslie makes some airheaded, pointless moves for a schemer. Also, they had her committ serious crimes and yet they also have her running around as a Bonnie Lockhart type of comedic antagonist and the two don't blend.

From the outset they should have had major revelations planned for Nov/Feb sweeps .

Have one or two stories move at a faster pace and others bubble along in the more traditional style.

As we've said before BTG is many viewer's introduction to a daytime soap and they're most likely not watching in the traditional way. So they need to cater to that, at the same time introducing strong characters so that viewers get attached and willing to follow the journey, maybe at a slower pace than they're used to.

I'm not sure about making Joey so prominent. Are we supposed to be charmed/intrigued by this criminal? Maybe if he were more a grey character, then he would be more appealing, but as it stands I'm not interested in following his exploits long term.

Introducing Isaiah led me to believe we would be seeing him at work and the college would be a new setting, but that hasn't happened-all he does is hang out at cafes. Where's the complication in his relationship with Eva? We're past the introductory stage and need some obstacles.

The same thing is happening with Shanice/Ted-they're happy together-but something needs to happen to cause problems. Maybe snarky Shanice needs to return and she starts boasting about being with Ted which he doesn't like.

And Martin/Smitty, Andre/Dani-things are too stable and there are just minor misunderstandings.

The whole June story could have been way more dramatic but it fizzled out and now she's just the quirky waitress.

These are obviously my takes and I'd love to read other perspectives w/o snide reactions just b/c some posters have dec ided they will be against everything I post. Genuine engagement and exchange of ideas/opinions is much more interesting to me.

Speaking about the onset, will anything come out of this review board at Bill's firm? I assumed this would have been the first sweeps story on BTG and the ball was seriously dropped. It was such a miss when there was no trial putting Bill and his daughter Naomi face to face. I totally get that budget limitations didn't allow for a courtroom set, but to develop this story and end on a whimper with a boring settlement was such a missed opportunity. Especially when there was a lot drama to mine here and they gave us very little of it There was still so much tension between Bill and his daughter's at this point and ideally his stroke should have happened during the trial. It would have been perfect soap.

So, no budget - no courtroom. Fine. However, the show introduces us to three diverse women who could have been fierce and fun characters, but they are all gone. There is a review board created as part of the settlement. Bill has Tomas snoop or sit in or maybe be part of said board. I don't remember the exact details. It is brought up in conversation a few times. Yet we never see Tomas doing said snooping or sitting in on these meetings. Was this board stuff supposed to go somewhere, was it dropped, or will it come up later?

On the side note, what is going on with this poisoning? Our girl Hayley is poisoning Bill but then she's not. She doesn't want to have a baby with Bill and freaks out and goes to Randy about it. They go to St. Barts for one day and she now wants a baby. At least that's what she tells Bill although a few episodes before she was crying and saying she wasn't ready. Like I need to know what Hayley is thinking. It is obvious she doesn't want Bill's baby but what is her motivation for now telling him yes. Where is she going with all this?
