Nadine from GH in 2008-09

IIRC part of the issue there was Tyler Christopher did not like the idea of pairing her with Nikolas and it showed on screen.

Lark Voorhies. Wasn't she also on DAYS as Jonah's girlfriend or something? They had some potential story for her on B&B, as a designer for Sally (?), but instead she was just used by Sly and written out not long after getting horrible burns. Such a waste.

Yes she was Wendy on Days. I think she said daytime wasn't the right pace for her. The character of Wendy lingered for a while with a couple of recasts. Her intro was actually interesting with her being homeless and having a child.

ETA-wiki tells me she was let go from B&B for refusing to play sex scenes due to her religious beliefs. She's a Jehovah's Witness.

I...actually don't think Tyler was wrong about that lol. I think the Nadine character was way too quirky and not in a fun way. A really obnoxious way.

Shades of V (although I wouldn't say V fizzled - that character probably lasted longer than any narrative purpose warranted).

Oh lord, Tina. So random.

And you're thinking of Boyd! God, I'd forgotten him too.

Thanks.

I wouldn't know where to start. The Latino brothers Greenlee was involved with...Ryan's sister Erin who was murdered...that "edgy" twin of Lily...Kendall's brother Trey. Trey was a character I would have kept, admittedly partly because Sam Page had a nice ass but that wasn't the only reason (he had an interesting relationship with Kendall - they painted him into such a corner early on I wasn't that surprised he went though).

I feel like V started as a last minute replacement for Miranda so Jax would have something to do when Sonny/Brenda were together, but Vanessa stayed instead of leaving with Mo like planned.

V lasted way longer than her shelf life, but I didn't mind her. She was fun, got her happy ending, and that's that.

I never knew that. I guess this was part of the relationship with Sly. That whole story was grimy and unnecessary.

The entire younger set was written out around the same time - the perils of a half-hour show I guess. Dylan Neal was briefly almost paired with Lauren in a stupid stripper story (IIRC the "sexy" stripper clothes he wore were tamer than what Ridge used to wear in everyday scenes when B&B started). They should have tried a little harder to find some use for him, but it wasn't a huge loss.

Speaking of B&B, thanks @Huntress for the extensive list. Some of those characters like the ones played by Ellen Wheeler and Kin Shriner were likely never intended to stay and B&B just stunt cast whether they needed to or not (the same happened with Tristan Rogers).

DAYS also had Jaime in that period - I never knew if she was meant to be more than Sami's friend and things went haywire because of her relationship with RKK, or if that was never happening.

Another would be Sara, that Aremid girl who was written out because the spinoff never happened.

That whole spinoff is a real what if.

I didn't mind her but the whole comedy capers with the Ned/Alexis/Jax/Chloe quad and the halting attempts to pair her with Jax no one ever went for wore on me.

Yeah, not sure everything that happened with Lark. It looks like she's struggled with mental illness as well. I really liked her on Days. She has a real charisma about her. I do think she and Jonah were boring and kind of wanted him with Sami. Weird, I know, because he was way too old, but he was always so kind to teen Sami.

I am not exactly sure if Jamie was ever meant to be more than Sami's friend. She had a crush on Lucas and that's sort of her only thing she has of her own plot wise. It's odd she disappeared one day never to be heard from again. I do always wish when Lucas randomly reappears he's somehow found Jamie and they are together lol.

The whole Aremid spinoff genuinely sounds like a horrible idea, tbh. I can't imagine it would have worked.

As far as V on GH, I actually think she would still be on if she was cast in the FV era. Popping up, recurring for 10 years, doing some comedic work, wasting budget. I really did like V. She just feels like a wacky Frank character that lingers forever.

Oooo wow. That is interesting. I always wondered.

She even favored Miranda at times. I was sad to see her go, but I was happy she got a happy ending.

Sydney Penny, wasnt she connected to Lorenzo Lamas's character? I want to say he was a fireman.

She was. He was. I want to say he was like a lost love for her and didn't even know she had had his daughter or something like that due to her mother played by Linda Gray.

ATWT.....Debbie Simon (Sharon Case). I barely remember her character being a blip on the radar. She wore glasses and didn't she lose her virginity to Hutch?

To me the actress that played V looked very similar to Miranda right down to the hair.

She was initially nerdy and then got a makeover to show us how sexy she was. She then began scheming to keep him from Rosanna. IIRC, she lost her virginity to his brother Linc, who had somehow gained an [!@#$%^&*] personality and lost a lot of muscle mass. After Linc used and dumped her, she had a breakdown. A bad character and not very good acting either.

I was surprised at how good Sharon Case was on Y&R due to how offputting I found this character to be.

Totally. I remember seeing pictures in SOD and I would think she was Miranda or vice versa. It was confusing. But not in a bad way. Nice to know Jax had other types. :)

IIRC the story went that Guza liked V (who I think he inherited from Culliton) and wanted to put her with Jax. Riche didn't want it (I think?) so the compromise was they gave V a HEA exit with a new love.

Carlos on AMC is one of the worst actors/characters I have ever seen. Speaking of Culliton though, dumping Sam Page and Trey was a waste.

I didn't know that. I liked poor Nadine.
