That was more like it.

Anita playing the game of not telling anyone about her worries felt so old school soap keeping a secret to me. And TT know she stayed selling it. I also love her talk with Andre.

And the Hamilton Widow plot was good, too. I like that it appears to have another element to it with the introduction of Hayley's old partner in crime. And she knows Randy, too, is the cherry on top. And it seem like she might interfere in Hayley's new life. And the fact that Hayley didn't say at all she plans to kill Bill (pun unintended for those who were at the movies for the rewatch) is just another layer of intrigue.

Best for last...MARCEL AND SILK PRESS SHEILA. YES, PLEASE. lol. Those scenes were a lot of flirting and foreplay and I ate them up. lol. Marcel over there had me blushing over here. It's great to see someone actually match SilkPress's energy and I want them to be a scheme team oh so bad. Like Dani/Andre, I called it. I wanted more and the foreshadowing months ago was good, but watching it happen has been great. And just from their scenes, the potential for internal/external drama for them as a couple is there. Even though now that I think about it...Marcel KNOWS all about Martin's secret, too. I wonder if he might tell SPS...over pillowtalk perhaps. Hmmmm

While the show hit pay dirt with Dani/Andre... they best not over-use them at the expense of other characters.. or the show will truly be like Santa Barbara and their over-reliance on Cruz/Eden and the Capwells at the expense of other characters/families.

I have to wonder if some of these shifts had to do with the show not being sure if they would get a season 2 pick up hence why Hayley's con artist past was exposed, Derek's 'deception' was discovered, and clues being planted that SPS/Leslie would be exposed in her part in Laura's hit and run were done so if they didn't get a pick up, the show could tie up the plots... but once they got a season 2 pick up.. the show had to pivot (hence why the Winterfest didn't end up revealing anything major).

I have a feeling Hayley switching gears and listening to Joey ensures she can stay on the canvas longer, SPS looking Marcel's way ensures she doesn't get fixated on Ted, and I'm sure Tomas trying to get Kat to commit to him more is going to lead to him being written out once she realizes she only stayed with him to stick it to Eva (who has since moved on).

I'm hoping for season 2 that Eva/Kat don't fight over another guy (Izaiah) and that they co-exist in a truce of sorts... while Eva has to contend with the disapproval of Izaiah's family while Kat focuses back on her business with Chelsea and has more work related stories.

I don't think you have to worry about that. Yet. It feels like they are being underused to me right now. In a weird holding pattern with Bill. But I guess we will see next year. I mean...did Bill ever call off the investigator to dig into Andre's past from a year before he arrived in Fairmont Crest?

I could see that on the shifts. I never thought about that at all. And it does sound plausible. But has anyone mentioned deleted material from Winterfest?

When you write it like it...these are all good pivots. It takes me back to the discussion we had about pivoting right before the Barbara/SPS reveal...something that really was needed at the time because SPS had been such a cartoon. I definitely feel that Hayley has legs now. The same for SPS. And I love that there is someone here who also feels that this story with Tomas and Kat is leading to his exit...which is how I have felt since it started.

I don't think we should ever get rid of the rivalry between Kat and Eva. But I do like the ideas mentioned. It's like at the start of the show with Dani and Bill. Once the initial story was done, Dani and Bill needed to be in separate stories for a while (him-the lawsuit, then the hand issues; her-Andre, issues with Chels) to get a feel for their characters and start developing them so that when they finally came back together at the hospital after Bill's stroke, there was more meat, layers, and interest to them. I think Kat and Eva could use the same approach...separate stories. Perfect timing too since Kat has put out her ultimatum to her family. Let Eva grow (and make amends to the town hopefully) with Iaziah. Meanwhile, Kat can come to the realization of why she is really with Tomas...and feel a way about him trying to neuter her by perhaps overhearing him with Bill...and she leaves him. Then someone rope all of that back to the rivalry between Kat and Eva and keep it evenly matched between the sisters.

The Christmas episode was quite good and in comparison to B&B's the togetherness didn't feel inauthenic. I don't think that the cast at B&B is incapable of portraying warm and authentic family moments, it's just that the writing has thrown family bonds by the wayside for betrayal and backstabbing over the years. Of course, P&G soaps have always done family right while other soaps were weaker on that front.

That’s a really good theory. I don’t think it’s far away from the truth. BTW you made me realize that Alegria’s airtime has been drastically reduced. That’s a good sign.

I also haven't spotted him in anybody's social media or at the holiday parties. I don't wanna get my hopes up but what a blessing that would be if Tomas was gone or recast.

BTW forgot to mention this earlier: ‘Chateau’ is indeed French for castle. But it is a masculine noun, therefore the adjective describing it would be ‘BEAU’, so ‘LE BEAU CHÂTEAU’. I can live with the dropping of the accent on ‘château’, though it is indeed part of its spelling. But the word ‘belle’ is just wrong. I mean you could ask any GPT these days and they wouldn’t get it wrong. Weird mistake.

I'm not adding anything new but I will say this is an excellent point.

Considering he is sharing show-related things on IG, I'd wager he is still there. I know he isn't in Georgia for the holidays per his social media, so that's likely why he wasn't visible at the holiday event.
