Thoughts:

  • June is doing a wonderful job adjusting to her job, and I love that she is focusing on maintaining professionalism with her job as well.

  • Vanessa went from enticing Joey to dreading being called over by Dana and Eva. Poor Lady.

  • The con artist child bride totally wants to get Bill to St Barts so she can kill his ass out of the country. I see how she is.

  • We are finally getting some legal action going again! And Lynette looks like she means absolute business.

  • Tomas, cut your losses. She is absolutely not worth the hassle you are putting into her.

  • Garland Memorial must be the dating hub of Fairmont. First Carlton and Nicole (plus Kial) and now Shanice and Ted are getting to know each other. I am liking their vibe together. Genuinely.

  • What a kind gesture of Jacob to take Naomi to the Bowman and to try and embrace a romantic adventure for the pair of them.

  • Oh, the con artist child bride does not like Ms Lynette, which means I am going to LOVE her to no end! Yes!

Notes:

  • The food at Orphey Gene's continues to look bomb and their prices are impressive as well.

  • I love seeing Jasmine Burke (June) in the background at Orphey Gene's. It brings a sense of familiarity to that set.

I saw an interview with Jen Jacob on Instagram and she mentioned how the story is developed and it seems like this mess they have going was planned from the beginning for Ashley/Derek. It amazes me that even with the reaction to those characters they still haven't pivoted. I've given up hope on recasts but at least change it up. The story just doesn't work.

Now with Tomas, I do think the story is fine but the actor is just dreadful.

So the whole Derek holding back his progress in order to surprise Ashley and then being found out long before he was deceitful wasn't a pivot/adjustment?

Wow!

I'm on the fence on whether this was all MVJ's vision (that she said played out in her mind all these years), or if the abundance of EP's/Production companies have somewhat muddled the waters.

-- AA is so terrible as Tomas that I have no words. He doesn't even need to speak to show how terrible he is. His body language when he walked into Kat's place was so unnatural, so pathetically bad. If I saw some improvement, I'd mention it, but I don't. He's not getting any better.

-- The Kat and Tomas story does. not. work. That's because of Alegria. It's impossible to believe anything about that story.

-- I also cringe at the "Leslie has unlimited funds" line that we keep hearing. Isn't there a reasonable way to get her involved in this free clinic rather than having her fund the entire thing? It's just so goddamn ridiculous.

-- A free clinic is something they should have Martin spearheading, not Eva and Leslie, who know NOTHING about medicine or the legalities or anything else. Maybe Madison can work there for free and kiss Chelsea there on her breaks.

I like it too. We need a familiar face there since we're always in OG's. Even though the storyline for June and her personality really made no sense, I'm glad she's happy and the way she is now.

I agree. It's nice seeing her rebuild her life after being down for as long as she was.

I still think Ted has more chemistry with Shanice then with June

I agree, there is far more chemistry between Ted and Shanice, than between Ted and June. Plus, it is not believable for a wealthy, sophisticated, well known plastic surgeon with an ego to actually a date a recently former un-housed woman. It just would never happen. And please don't respond with, "It's just a soap opera." That phrase is insulting to the entire genre.

But more importantly, aren't both Shanice and June a generation younger than Ted? I dislike that kind of pairing, unless it is acknowledged and discussed in the scripts. To simply ignore the generational difference is lazy writing.

Never 👍

I wouldn't mind the age gap playing into the storyline somehow, if they go there with the two of them.

It could even causing more problems for Kat and Eva. One of them could support the relationship and the other one could be against it

June, the terribly written character, you mean?

Shanice should be on a contract.. I flove the character.

Sure, as long as the age gap is acknowledged and discussed. I remember when Mac and Rachel connected on Another World, their age difference was a plot point for at least a couple of years. Age gaps like that can make for lots of drama and lots of reactions. The writers shouldn't waste that material. It is low hanging fruit for a writer.

-- If Vanessa has a plan to take down Golden Corral Casino Mobster Joey, she needs to do better, because she's stupid as hell.

-- Vanessa sure isn't worried about her kids being in danger. What a selfish ho.

-- Just what does Naomi want from Jacob? He should leave her instead of putting up with all this.

-- Disappointed to see previews showing Nicole making out with Carlton. After this start with Kial? It makes no sense.

-- I don't see Ted and Shanice or Ted and June as May/December romances, and I don't think the show needs to address the age difference at all.
