On Monday, actor and AEW (All Elite Wrestling) pro wrestler Anthony Bowens announced on X (formerly Twitter) that he recently landed his first major television role outside of sports, appearing on a soap opera, although he didn’t specify which show at the time of his posting nor did he shed light on the character he'd be playing.

“In better news, I just landed my first tv role on a soap opera!” said Bowens, who spent the better part of the day posting updates on his new haircut, which he called the worst of his life after utilizing a new barber.

“He thought the birthmark on the back of my head was a tattoo and decided to highlight it,” Bowens tweeted, using several angry face emojis to express his frustration. “IM GONNA WRESTLE IN A LARGE HAT,” he added in a follow-up post.

In another post, he shared several photos of his new look, asking fans what he should wear in order to cover up the haircut ahead of Wednesday's AEW Dynamite show.

In his earlier tweet, announcing his upcoming soap opera role, Bowens noted, “I am The Pride of Pro Wrestling,” a long-time moniker he adopted in response to being one of the few openly gay wrestlers in professional wrestling and an active supporter of the LGBTQ community.

Last week, Bowens appeared as the Grand Marshall during the Dallas Pride Parade, and recently celebrated his ninth anniversary with husband Michael Pavano. The couple got married in 2017 and, by 2022, they bought a house together in Los Angeles.

Speaking of Pavano, on X, Bowens shared a screenshot from a video posted to Pavano’s TikTok account, commenting, “Because my boyfriend is currently a shape shifting TikToker,” referencing the many videos in which his boyfriend impersonates several celebrities including Nicole Kidman, Meghan Markle, and, of course, Blake Lively.

While we have yet to find out which soap Bowens will be appearing on, and for how long, let us know what character and which show you would like to see him appear on, whether it's "Beyond the Gates," "The Bold and the Beautiful," "Days of our Lives," "General Hospital" or "The Young and the Restless."

In the United States, AEW programming airs weekly on TBS, TNT and HBO Max (rebrand from Max).
