• Ashley versus Shanice is going to be good, especially since it is an in-job conflict.
• So, Dana cannot get a job nor pay for the meal she invited Eva out for? If you cannot pay, then do not invite! Easy as that.
• Poor Katherine has nothing but regret filling her face, and I hate this for her.
• So the woman Naomi called was Regina? Interesting.
• I love the continued flirting between Andre and Ashley. The chemistry is fire, and it is so easy-going! Yes!!!
• Good to see Ted doing his work. Just a shame it is being done in his temporary living situation where Ms Dana can and does show up whenever she damn well wants.
• So, Dana wants money and for Ted to keep another secret? No, thank you. And good on Ted for saying no, too.

• I appreciate more real conversations happening on this soap. It is a breath of fresh air from the usual bull we endure in American soaps.
• Jacinte Blankenship (Regina) is doing well at being emotionally removed, but when she is meant to be emotionally available, she is still a bit cold. I wonder if it is an intentional acting choice.
• Ambyr Michelle (Eva) is a star! She owns the role she portrays.
• Andre has a place to live! It is a very chic set and suits him.

 I like Andre's apartment. It's nice. 

Now we need to see Jacob and Naomi apartment beyond the bedroom. 

 

June's sister Regina at Orphey Gene's.  Naomi shows Regina a copy of June's faded photo of the children.   Regina shows a clearer version of same photo on her own phone -- the children were young but she says they are June's children Ron and Cecile - and Ron would now be about the right age to be picking out colleges now.

Regina said something about how/why June collapsed mentally and abandoned the children but I didn't quite catch what she said.

That's not what I said. But it was obvious months ago she was tied to the kids. That's all I'm pointing out.

Yeah we knew that's who the kids were.   But we don't know why June had a mental collapse.

Regina said that June decided one day that she didn't want to be a mom anymore and walked away from them, so into the foster care system they went. I'm starting to think that Tyrell and Samantha are June's long lost kids. 

Yeah, this is not putting June in a good light so far. Regina seems like a good person and I'm interested in learning more about her. 

Edit: Oh, wait... never mind. As I was writing this, Regina actually explained more by saying that June had some kind of mental breakdown and said that she couldn't handle the kids anymore and CPS just snatched the kids from her without even giving Regina a chance to fight for custody. Ugh, now I feel bad. If it does turn out that Tyrell and Samantha are June's long lost kids, I definitely want Regina to have a relationship with them.

I still find June herself to be an embarrassing, community theater pop-eyed cartoon a lot of the time. But I think the story of this unhoused woman secretly being the kids' mother is a solid story angle. It comes down to how it's handled.

I find the story angle to be lazy. June's journey did not have to be connected to Tyrell and Samantha. It's a cheap route to take, in my opinion. It lacks a real sense of urgency and comes off as simplistic.
