You have ES. ABC owns Viki Lord. In GH,the storyline Lulu works for Viki. So ES playing anyone but Viki makes zero sense to me. 

In a way it's a good thing that it's planned to be short-term. If it's bungled we won't be stuck with it too long but if it's a home run then it will leave us pleased but wanting more, which is not too shabby. 

I just thought today we were a bit on the weird side. In general I do not care for the QVC/HSN set or set-up. We didn't even get to have the always fun Morgan Fairchild. I do not like Susan Batten's character at all & I hate being reminded how dense Lucy can be at times. Why in the world would she have thought that now is a good time to surprise Brook Lynn with Lois on air, live?!! So Deception is down a few. Natalia, dead. Maxie temp elsewhere. We learned that NotBritt is acting as an international courier that the WSB uses, which gotta call that odd. I was okay with Anna having insight. Always prefer that to crying.

Tracy needs Sonny out of Deception, why not pitch to Viki Lord to invest. That way, we could see her from time to time, and it's gets Viki involved with the Qs organically.

I don't see the appeal & Viki as a character has so much she automatically carries with her, also called baggage. But I may just be at a contrary point because I'm thinking why is no one looking around & saying, there are too many dadgummed people here!!!?? I know, not new. STILL!

Frank will decimate Viki and her history the way he did Todd & Blair, etc. So I'd rather her be Monica's sister. Keep Frank's grimy paws off OLTL

As much as I would love to see Viki...I can accept her as Monica's sister for just that very reason. 

This feels like they came up with this idea of doing a story with Monica's heretofore-unknown sister and decided to cast it with a notable daytime face, not like they decided to bring Slezak on and then swerved to make her Monica's sister instead of Viki. I'm sure the story will be too "clever" by several notches, but I'd imagine this is all tying in with LC's sendoff, so I'm at least curious to see what they do.

90% of the time, Daytime Confidential doesn't run their so-called Rumor Reports unless it's accurate. That's been the way it is going back over a decade.

I would've preferred to see Viki, but I can't fault them honoring Leslie and bringing on some of her family. And maybe Erika wants to play something different.

And as someone who did enjoy Todd and Blair and the other OLTL characters, I don't think anyone was really decimated on GH. Yes, Todd and Blair broke up as they did approximately 80 other times, but it was handled pretty respectfully. I didn't love the pairing with Carly because it was poorly written and slapped together but Blair's end of things was done fine for me. And in the end they did reunite on Prospect Park, but I also really have no investment in that couple or a serial rapist anymore. Natalie was fine, Blair was fine, Starr lost her baby and boyfriend I didn't care about.

Given the history of soap opera crossovers these characters were lucky to stay alive and not be immediately killed off a la Vicky Hudson from AW or many other inconvenient spouses/love interests.  The crossovers may have gotten annoying, but in terms of how they treated the OLTL characters it was not that serious.

If this is true, I can see where playing a new part would be meatier than Viki as there's really nothing for Viki to react to in Port Charles. Maybe she also wanted to play the grief given her daughter's passing. It's hard to guess. I do wonder how many will struggle to not just see her as Viki, unless she is going to play this in a Niki-type manner.

The only OLTL retcon I would object to is claiming that Blair slept with David, which I don't think Blair would ever do. I agree the rest was fine.

What is the tape to air lag time at GH now? A month, two? I can't recall offhand. Not that FV has not pre-taped stuff and then slotted it in sometimes way ahead of when it's expected to air. (He did it with Roger Howarth at OLTL in 2011 as soon as they got him back, among other cases)

I am pretty sure they're still the standard six-to-eight weeks tape-to-air, but they do have 'insert' scenes they have been known to do as early as days prior to airing. But right now, what is airing was mass-taped for their monthlong break.
