They were meant to play rivals. They are so perfect at it. I just remember all the wordless tension when they saw each other at the wedding for the first time last year. It was so good. Always happy when they revisit it. I do hate they have me cheering the Hitman over the scum bag lol

Yeah, their tension has always been there, so I was happy to see with Sam's death that it finally came to a boil and has stayed out in the open since. Outside of Jason vs Ric, I live for it.

Well...at least you're not cheering for Sonny. 😜

I think Alexa Havins is a perfect Lulu.

While I think Emme Rylan was miscast she did show a less smug, slightly more mature side of Lulu.  Her stories were legitimately awful the entire time she was appearing so I don't fully blame her.  Her and Milo?  Multiple weird kid stories?  Side B stories with OLTL actors?  It was blatantly like we have to put up with you because you are Luke/Laura's kid, but we hate you at the same time lol.

I’m glad I missed most of it 😂. I remember Stavros being obsessed with her. And I also think Valentin wasn’t a cry baby when I was watching back then as well.

So basically what's going on with Lucky this go-around. ;)

She is. It's the show that I think is overdoing the obvious, innate elements of Lulu (which are in character, but slanted atm) because there's clearly a favored focus on Setton/BLQ, while Lulu is the heavy and taking the brunt. Setton's a friend of Frank from OLTL and so the show is acting like Brook Lynn and her relationships (Dante, Gio, Chase) are more central to the show than Lulu. Imagine that happening 10-15 years ago, even when they had Rylan in place. BLQ was a nonentity.

I'm not saying I don't want BLQ to be a lead on the show, because I do. It was long overdue, even though there are issues with Setton. But it doesn't need to be a situation where one child of Laura's is backburnered and fired, and the other is just dragged around the pavement and given less positive focus than BLQ. Because the fact is one of them had a very popular couple in the last century with two very strong actors currently in that pairing, and the other is Brook Lynn.

He was always a wimp.

Frank clearly lost all interest in Rylan earlier, when his and RC's rehash of the disastrous OLTL Teen Jessica story from OLTL was canned - the one where she debuted on Cassadine Island during the anniversary, came out of cryogenic freeze amnesiac and shacked up with Milo, etc. That was Ron Carlivati's go-to story to make 'boring' heroines interesting; have them lose their memories and become wild children. He did it multiple times at OLTL and GH and I believe he did it in several ways at DAYS (I think Sarah Horton might be the worst victim). It was also a vehicle to highlight Milo and probably try to make him a major player, as they were clearly obsessed with his body.

The story was even more unpopular at GH than it was at OLTL because GH was the flagship of the network and Lulu was a more historically popular character than Bree Williamson's Jessica, so they canned it in like 4-6 weeks without anything really happening. And after that I don't think any of them had any real interest in Rylan.

On paper, Emme Rylan could have worked, but it was the material. Her Lulu was written as a weak "new mom", which plagued her and Maxie around this time. Had she been given the type of material Julie Marie Berman got, then she could have done much better, especially after her time as Lizzie on GL and Abby on Y&R.

I think Rylan's best work was the early stuff in the court battle with Maxie. She killed it. After that she was a wash.

As for whether Guza team-level daily writing could've benefitted her, maybe? But tbh I think the Guza team would've done what they did with other marginal recasts they sometimes had to elevate (CSM, etc.) - fired her and recast.

Lol thank god and I don’t think I ever will be forced to 😂😂. I just finished the scenes and I was so Team Jason even when Drew had a good point 😂.

But did Drew though? After all, he did everything wrong to make this happen.

Yes, Michael probably will listen to Jason, but Jason don't care for Drew anymore than Drew cares about putting his ego aside for Scout. So he don't get to throw kids in anyone's face, either.

I think Setton is a horrible lead.  She's dated like a 50's housewife without even being old.  Havins is much more viable, but no one listens to me lol.  I expect so much more from Ned/Lois's daughter and I don't think I am wrong about that.

I am 💯 with you on this; Alexa Havins Bruening is more viable, especially in comparison to Amanda Setton.
