"Billy Flynn Confirms He’s Playing Aristotle Dumas"

** That article said he's playing Dumas, but didn't confirm Dumas is Cane.

UsWeekly Magazine, part two of the interview:
Billy Flynn Breaks Down Reveal as Cane, Chemistry With Christel Khalil’s Lily

https://www.usmagazine.com/entertainment/news/billy-flynn-breaks-down-his-reveal-as-cane-chemistry-with-lily/

Quoting some excerpts:

“Aristotle Dumas is my version — or Cane’s version — of The Great Gatsby with Lily being Daisy,” Flynn, 40, exclusively told Us Weekly. “In my mind, it was about a guy who felt an incredible amount of guilt and shame in his life and wanted to create a new version of himself that would be worthy of the woman that he loves and the people that know him from Genoa City.”

“He’s still somebody who is trying to figure out who he is,” Flynn continues. “He’s vulnerable, and he’s in love with one woman. There’s aspects of him that are broken, and he’s doing his best to put all those things together to be this version of himself that would make these people proud.”

“It’s the reason Gatsby threw all these parties — to reveal this new version, to show off [and he’s thinking], ‘Can I throw this elaborate party in hopes that Lily’s gonna show up?’” he explains.

He acknowledges it’s “very scary” take on a “rebrand of a character”

“People are going to have their opinions about that. There’s nothing I can do or control about that. I was hired to play a part, so I got to do that the best that I can, and part of that is that love story and their history. I did the work. I did as much preparation as I could"

I should have clarified that the pictures of Claire/Kyle are from the end of May,
meeting with the party planner for Nikki's birthday.
The other photos are from Dumas estate in June.

Regarding your question:  Why do they dress Claire and write Claire they way they do?
Who knows?

From the 6-minute "Restless in the Riviera" trailer (spoiler and behind-the-scenes video)...
Link to the youtube video  (Link)
And also from the "next week on Y&R" preview video (Link)

There are scenes of characters in swimsuits sunning themselves on the grounds of the Dumas estate (in a clearing in the maze).  Audra and Kyle flirting about Jabot suntan lotion.  Audra and Sally on chaises longues. Etc.

Someone made a gif of a split-second scene from the "Restless on Riviera" video.

(I don't know when this scene airs.. sometime in next week or two maybe? )

I wonder if anyone else will don swimwear? Hopefully Chance.

Lauren looks horrible from head to toe in that picture.

The costuming is still way too hit and miss with a strong leaning to the miss.

I heard of a BTS picture of Chance in boardshorts but I don't think I saw it?  It might have been on an IG story a while back, posted during filming?

Audra and Kyle in swimsuits flirting about Jabot sunscreen on the "next week" video, they reference the Jabot sunscreen.  Back in 2018, there was a storyline about Jabot filming a commercial for their sunscreen and Kyle was the model. The name of the brand was "Birthday Suit sunscreen".
Audra wasn't in Genoa City then but she is aware of it because she mentions it.

The new Kyle/Audra swimsuit scene is here

    • I feel it could benefit from a focus on one of their three A stories or a solid B plot. But right before the turnover from Guza to Thomson, outside of all things Dani...there's nothing too A story-ish going on. Still entertaining for me, but it's noticeable that there is not a main story with other B/C stories going on. It's just...a bunch of stories going on.    I do hope the build to Winterfest and us actually seeing it THIS month will get things moving again.    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
    • GET THAT HEFFA, NOSY NURSE!!!   I'm sorry to see Smitty and June coming to a middle ground. It seem like that tension would be between them for at least one more story arc. A writing change?   I'm sorry but I love the teen unit of Ty, Samantha, and Jessica (and Rocco, Danny, Charlotte over on GH which is what today is reminding me of). I'm a sucker for soap teens. lol.
    • I really hope Laura doesn’t get reelected. She doesn’t deserve it. Imagine her campaign staff, freaking out at the Metro Court as election results come in while she’s hanging out with Sonny.
    • Thanks for that. It was great to see her in an interview. She's very likable. Although it was somewhat confusing. What new soap is she talking about going on audition for in 1973. Was it The Young and the Restless? Is it just me or did they never even say the name of this soap opera? Days wasn't new in 1973 and there was no "Jack" with three daughters on The Young and the Restless. What soap are they talking about? The editing around that part was weird and choppy. I felt like there was a chunk missing or something. And I'm not sure why she was saying she got colorectal cancer from HPV and said it's because she never got the HPV vaccine but then said she's never had anal sex. I'm not a doctor but that didn't seem to make any medical sense. I don't know. Maybe I'm tired. It just seemed like some of this interview didn't make sense.
    • If it helps any, the last script cover from the Elman papers that I have is from episode #3,736 airdate November 15, 1977. Writers are the Hollands with Frank Salisbury.
    • B&B really does look incredible. The lighting and the polished sets have made a significant difference how visually appealing the show is now.
    • I found the problem with the Labine era was that the show lost some humour when the Labines came on and it could be dull. They also didn't seem to understand some of the characters. As others have said, it looks fantastic in comparison to the next regime but I just remember boredom being the primary response.
    • Something I didn't realize: Frank Ashmore, who played Monica's investigator Corrigan in 1981, was also Victor, the third guy in the cockpit, in Airplane!
    • Thanks, maybe I will skim through those episodes.  I have previously binged late 1985 through early 1987; April-June, August 1992 (I skipped Carlo Hesser murder trial), Jan-March 1995 and I began watching in 2006. I just struggle to stay consistent with routines especially binging routines haha
    • I could've sworn we went over the Bobbie thing a while ago, and saw her introduced to Rick and Lesley as "Nurse Barbara" in very late '77? Or was that early '78? I know the clip is online. Jackie always credited Marland with creating her IIRC.
