Isn't this show like days away from being liberated from that horrible writer it had? I may give it a try just to see what the quality will be. Every time I've checked this show out in the past 2-3 years... I was so put-off... It felt like tacky... oily porn/low-budget reality show.  It will be interesting to see what the future holds. If we... at the Bold corner were so lucky!

The last few weeks have been unironically decent since the lid off Johnny's paternity was revealed - unfortunately, Ron's pets are still there and it seems like they will be for the forseeable future. Hopefully the new writers will at least quit the Gary Sue-ing of Leo.

Lauren Koslow and Ali Sweeney haven't lost an ounce of their chemistry. I loved the scene where they gossiped in the Brady Pub.

While I don't want a return to Sami's Days of Her Life, it's a shame Ali won't ever commit to anything long-term again. She absolutely sparked with every actor during her week and a half there, some she hasn't ever had scenes with. She's really a pro and it shows.

The Hollywood Graveyard channel on YouTube uploaded a new video today. And the very second person's grave (right after Bob Barker, should you wish to start at the beginning and watch the whole thing!) is none other than that of Joe Mascolo (Stefano). I tried to mark it to start at his segment, but just in case, it is around the 2:44 mark, if you want to see it! In addition, John Aniston's (Victor) grave is @ 15:06!

Yeah… I don’t think Roman or Kate was the one who shot EJ but I like the way their parts of the storyline were built up today. It could be some pretty good conflict for the two of them.

And I guess Susan was necessary today, but most of her scenes felt like filler to me, except for the last one with Belle.

But I did like Belle and Philip commiserating over everything that happened with EJ and with Xander. They actually work well together as friends. Plus, Philip needs someone who’s not his mother to confide in about the letter and his relationship with Xander.

Speaking of Xander, he killed it again. He did a really good job ripping Alex today. He brought up a lot of interesting beats about how Alex, Philip, etc. still look down on him and don’t respect him.  I admit Sarah did look a little pathetic today but I still like the drama of this storyline and I’m looking forward to seeing it all play out.

But yeah, somebody really ought to tell RSW that every time he tries to squeeze out tears, he looks like he’s in pain 😂😂

Tomorrow is Ron's last episode (Tuesday)

The show sure has been good as we wind up Ron's tenure, almost like someone was rewriting these last scripts.

Apart from Rex, whose visit accomplished nothing, and Roman having the same flashback for the 80th time, I loved everything today.

Belle and Philip were really great. Two people with so much history and both so flawed they don't bother judging each other. I think Justin is Xander's lawyer though. He may have to hire Melinda.

I really am not hating Alex these days. He and Stephanie are finally working for me. I like knowing pregnant Joy is out there though. I so appreciated Xander bringing up how it hurts to have the gardener thing thrown in his face and Alex apologizing. I sure wish that they'd come over a bit later so Sarah had managed to confess. Enough already.

Can I say I'm delighted that Philip and Xander will have to fake a united front to please Mr Shin. Keep on with these two please!

Susan was not too annoying today, and I loved that she instantly saw that Belle loves her son. And EJ is "finally" awake but it's been only two Salem days lol

Paul Telfer is criminally underrated—by me, no less. He’s handsome, charismatic, and capable of expressing anger without resorting to the usual nostril-flaring theatrics. Yet, Mr. Shin's ongoing role as the perpetual dupe in every con is beginning to feel a bit dim. There’s no credible reason he should retain any meaningful leverage in the business dynamic—none that couldn’t be neutralized by a simple, strategic truth-telling.  Since the buyout, he seems to be in a similar role as Gabi, he heads a single division of Titan. Honestly, I can't fathom why Xander would lift a finger to save Philip when he could just team up with Shin and capitalize on his insider knowledge and resources.

Elsewhere in the episode, a delightful second revelation: Martha Madison is positively sparking in her current run as Belle. (Side note: I spare a moment of sympathy for all the professional millennial Belles, Britneys, and Daisys now navigating middle age saddled with names steeped in childhood whimsy.) I do enjoy the way Susan says Belle, but they really need to rein in that portrayal—it veers past quirky and lands squarely in the realm of the bizarre.

Also,—what happened to Paulina’s shopping empire? Why isn’t Johnny directing commercials for her? Why isn’t she underwriting the hospital? Why is she not the target of a Titan takeover? Let’s hope the next batch of writers remember that Paulina is supposed to be a formidable mogul in Salem, even if those endlessly modesty-minded necklaces suggest otherwise.

Paul is amazing. The growth journey he has taken Xander on, from that smart alec thug who cared about nobody, to this new, mature yet still flawed version, is amazing, particularly since he has had to do it without the benefit of any sort of nuanced writing.

And I adore Belle too! Her name is Isabella though; Roman named her after John's late wife when he thought she was his, so it is not a cutsey name, she just has the cutsey version of it.

I don't care about Pricetown. If Paulina never appeared again I would not notice frankly.

I just think the imbalance of money and power in Salem is too much in favor of the villains, we need some rich benign people.

For example, there was a time when Neil seemed to be nearly as wealthy as Tony Dimera.  Bo referred to Hope as Princess, in part, because Doug was among the upper class in town.  But, now EJ and Maggie feel vastly more wealthy than Paulina.

John inherited the Toscano fortune and now Brady likely will get it. That is a nice benign (if stupid) billionaire. I would prefer him to Paulina please.

Also, an amusing side note to today's episode:

Screenshot 2025-04-21 at 14-27-59 peacock notebook musical - Google Search.png

Notebook the Musical that Alex and Stephanie are going to see; closed four months ago on Broadway.  So, the touring company is premiering in Salem?  I googled it and there's no tie-in to Peacock, as I assumed.  And the actual tour in our universe hasn't been cast yet.

Another casualty of trying to write in cultural references nine months in advance.  Much like when Leo went to Iceland to see Madonna, days after she postponed her tour due to illness IRL.  But, at least they nailed the timing of The Traitors.

You're welcome. It really is a great channel. Not at all morbid, since it focuses on the decedents' lives...
