-- That's how I feel. These conversations with a couple sitting at a table for the entire episode are deadly and maddening. They're so low energy it's pathetic.

Even the Victor/Claire conversation was a waste. We got multiple scenes of Claire putting up her argument for seeing Kyle, and Victor seems amenable. It ends, though, with Victor making comments and faces that tell us nothing has changed for him. So what was it all for? Why make us sit through that?

Likewise, an episode-long conversation between Adam and Chelsea about their relationship is boring. There's no reason to care about them. Ditto for Billy and Sally. Why should I care that they're in love?

-- I know I'm a broken record, but the sets problem on Y&R is enormous. Creating a beautiful new set like Billy's house (and I do think it's great) is not enough. Moving characters from the GCAC to Society to Crimson Lights and back to Society and then to the GCAC is just awful, and it takes me out of many scenes.

-- Josh Griffith apparently thinks talking about a new set (the Abbott mansion redo) is a storyline. It isn't.

I think Ian is the kidnapper of Sharon and Phyllis, too. Why? He is the obvious answer, and Josh Griffith is so bad at his job that he thinks we'll be shocked at the obvious perp.

I mean at this point...the only thing saving it is the chemistry of the actresses in spite of how much I don't want to admit that.

Part of me wants them to go at it like Marlena and Kristen in the Secret Room on DAYS if they are going to do this.

And again like I said yesterday, it's the Damian storyline keeping this show afloat. Though this episode did have other things going on that kept my interest.

So Devon got to interact with Damian. And I felt that was the highlight of the episode. If anyone would understand what Damian would be feeling knowing his father was not his blood father, it would be Devon. It made up for him telling on Lily and her background search. I'm not sure if Damian should have been tipped off, but it does not seem like that will stop Damian/Lily from happening so cool.

And I love that Amy is going for it. She agreed with Nate to see the specialist. I would like to keep her around so I'm all for that.

Other than that, I do like that Claire is using that evil brain of hers to start to side-eye Summer. Because Summer has been making it clear with her potshots. And I liked the scene between them about Claire's career. Yes, Claire saw working with children as a thing she liked and her redemption, but Claire also had a passion for the business work. And she's been showing it and dressing it. So that backbone is still there. So I liked the Nikki/Claire scene.

I also liked Kyle calling Summer out. But again...I feel Summer was better off with Chance. But alas...

I really need to finish last week’s episodes of The SAW and the Restless….

See above LOL.

You perfectly summed up my frustration the show.

@Taoboi @kalbir @Antoyne @YRfan23 As for Sharon’s kidnapper obviously we know it’s probably Ian but I propose it to be NICK as responsible. This is all one giant scheme of his which is mind will end the animosity between Phyllis and Sharon. This revelation comes about at a garden party at the Newman party. Nick has a mental breakdown and desperately tries to explain his rationale, but Victor and Summer are unconvinced and have the authorities haul Nick off to Fairview. As Nick is hauled off in a straight jacket Victor promises his son he’ll get the best help. Morrow’s exit is announced afterward and frees up the budget.

I think Nick is behind this Sharon/Phyllis nonsense. For reasons. Maybe he has an Ian mask making him do things.

Beyond pointless, this story is boring. The writers have ruined both women. Sharon comes off as if she's still being drugged.

Haha, I'd actually welcome the idea of Nick having some sort of breakdown and getting locked up!

In a way it's what he deserves for what he's put Sharon through!

Hahaha, dead.

Do not give Josh Griffith ideas.

Hahaha, love it!

I've been saying for years that Y&R needs a big cast purge.

JM does not have the acting skills to pull off an emotional breakdown.

    • I don't think they had any idea who he was this time last year. I think they were keeping their options very open. Same with totally dropping the Trina romance that was spoiled for him in the mags once FV clearly took a shine to him. Frank's priorities are bright and blazing in one color. I do think Gio and Emma seem to have worked out given that she is very dry and sarcastic and he is like a hot golden retriever, but I'd still play the field or explore quads with both with very different people - Emma with a scheming young man (of color), Gio with possibly Trina or someone else, or even a boy. Then maybe put them back together, who knows. But of course none that will happen.

    • He definitely got lost in the shuffle last year. First, they were implying that he was Drew’s son, then he was nothing more than just Violet’s bff

And then they changed him to being Dante and Brook Lynn’s son, which was clunky at first but I’m enjoying the storyline now.
    • GM is adorable, charming and fun onscreen despite months of nothing to do until recently, and has a bodacious bod. I'm not cosigning the show or this story - I haven't watched a full episode in over a month - but I think we're all taking the small victories in 2025 at this point. I'm open to testing this theory!
    • I think Jason might've posted some numbers for the syndication a while ago and the numbers for Falcon Crest was horrible. Like 1.5 rating or something, which was terrible.    ETA: it was actually Paul Raven:   New to syndication 60 min Fall Guy 67 markets 3.1/8 Falcon Crest 110 markets 1.1/5 To get into the top 40, you needed a 4.6/9 rating for reference - and Falcon Crest managed to get into a lot of markets to begin with. In the fall of 1985 Dynasty, Dallas and Knots were syndicated (show / rating / share / coverage % / markets): Dallas 3.4 10 51.7 92 Dynasty 3.4 10 48.7 47  Knots Landing 3.3 10 12.5 20  So, Knots as an example trippled Falcon Crest's rating with 20 markets - I'm sure those were major ones but it just goes to show you how much Falcon Crest bombed in syndication.
    • It's not bad but the stories move too slow. It's the same problem when Dan O'Connor was CO-HW with Van Etten, they have a million stories and they all drag on endlessly with no resolution. I'd argue the majority of the stories airing now are good but you get sick of waiting months for something to happen.
    • Thanks. I must have missed that period entirely for Lifetime.
    • Thanks. I know Marland did that type of thing sometimes but it's less likely with these characters. I don't even remember Alex ever mentioning him.
