I liked the reveal, and I liked the lead up to the reveal.  I just didn't like Johnny's initial response.  It was heightened enough to be appropriate for the gravity of the revelation.  But, I thought the content of Johnny's dialogue lacked sensitivity.  Although, to be fair, Kate was magnanimously sensitive toward Sami, in a moment where she could've really screwed over her former foe.

It doesn't help that although biologically Kate is not Johnny's grandmother, I cannot remember a single other scene of them interacting.  So, it wasn't grounded in any type of character development.

I would give Johnny a bit of grace on this because it was such a huge bombshell and he really was only hearing for the very first time.

I think the show has lacked giving Johnny connections outside of Dimera land.  He does interact with Marlena, but not much with Will, John, Belle, Brady, Eric, Roman, etc. etc.

Did Tate ever pay his boarding school back for the damage from his prank that got him expelled?  Because he only worked as a bar back at the Pub twice.

I personally didn't think the reveal to Johnny was bad or even that CB was bad.  It's been about an hour give Johnny some time to process.

That's where I am with this. I don't think Johnny's reaction was self-centered or that it ignored the trauma his mother endured. It all seemed like a pretty natural response, in my opinion.

I thought Carson Boatman did a nice job with the material.

I haven't seen this yet. I'll see it tonight. But, really, Johnny has not been presented as some very mature, highly evolved, insightful person!!! If his reaction were to spout off a feminist philosophical tirade of outrage on behalf of Sami, it would flat out be out of character! Johnny's just a typical young adult. Let's give him a chance to live with this for a bit, at a minimum.

True. But I need someone in Salem to voice an insightful feminist rant.

I could wish Allie were here because if she were at least the two of them would talk it over & maybe sharing their reactions & feelings would lead somewhere, but then, if I'm true to her I'd want Nicole to be there for Allie to talk to. Neither of them is there & neither is Sami. If they're smart they'll write a way for Johnny to talk to - who else - Marlena next week!

Lingering thought from recent discussions.

If there were a list of priorities, in terms of necessary sets, I put courtroom above gym.

We are told EJ and Belle are great litigators, but they have nowhere to litigate.  I far prefer a courtroom over a boardroom, because you get the built-in drama of an opening statements, questioning witnesses, and sidebar objects.  And who doesn't love a secret that is forced out during a trial?

Then, a gym, but only if it has a locker room, like the one that Jack and Brad went to on Y&R. 🚿

The gym would get more use than the janky law stories they are trying to sell us.

A gym would sense as a place for Johnny.  You know, his wife fattens 'em up, and he helps 'em burn off the calories.

He could have bought a Body Connection franchise from Chris Kostachek.

But, again, only if it has a locker room. Have I made myself clear on the locker room issue?

It seems cheaper to build too.  Multiple characters can use it.  A courtroom is more specific.

Oh see, here we differ.  The reason that old soaps always had courtrooms is that it is just a bunch of tables and a judge's bench, very cheap.  A gym needs water, and logos, and equipment.

The gym needs a weight bench and weights.  I am sure Robert Scott Wilson will loan Days some.  Multiple characters can come work out there.  Paulina and Marlena could do pretend pilates even.

The courtroom would need benches, tables, and a physical judge.  And only EJ and Belle are lawyers at this point.

Since they are both in their late 60's to 70's I would think just carrying a yoga mat is a fair enough workout.

Meanwhile, I'm not reading any follow up on the locker room status...🚿😉🫣
