Dominic is still sexy and virile, and can be played that way if they choose. Giving him Gio hurts him and Lois. Brook Lynn is a lost cause as long as Setton remains in the role, which is sad because she should be having sexy, mischievous capers on par with a Brenda or someone like Anna Kendrick/Blake Lively in A Simple Favor.

Yes!  Lois is in the age range of slightly older than Brenda but younger than Sonny.  Apparently she's decided to live like a nun for the last 25 years outside the Alcazar romance-which we won't discuss.

Rena is hot and should be considered viable.  I was thinking today she projects years younger than her own daughter and not because of Setton's wardrobe.  Just because Lois seems fun and men should be knocking down her door.

They'll just put her with another random recurring guy Frank likes with no real story and call that 'writing for Lois'. It's the same reason we're expected to clap away for Tracy being shackled to the newly non-Southern Martin instead of having a major story. (And tbh Kevin and Laura are a version of the same.)

Thanks. I thought it was somewhere after her relationship with Jax. I may be thinking of some later moment with them.

That makes sense as a story idea for Sonny and Gio.

The show has such a confused relationship with the mob, because you will still have a few characters who protest the mob for brief story purposes, but never in a manner that feels like a point being made - Jagger hated Sonny but he was meant to be a prick, Sasha doesn't want to be tied to the mob but she is fine with Jason. Yet the mob is still inescapable because it's just blended much more into the canvas than in the days where characters like Edward or Alexis were putting them on blast. So I don't think you could have a story today like Sonny grooming Stone and the different reactions those around him had...but I think there are scraps which can be found if the show tries, even as they will never actually be against Sonny.

I do remember when Dante was meant to be more sexual. Given Sam's sexier pairings in the '00s it's too bad they never did more with a more erotic element between them.

I guess it's just not a part of GH anymore. Or any soap, frankly, not only in the US, but internationally. As we're in an era where gen Z is asking to bring back the Hays Code, I don't see that improving.

Rena does project as younger than Setton, even when she isn't trying to be young. She also dresses younger.

If they did pair Lois with anyone it would just be filler, but if Rena is willing to stay around, I wish they'd try.

Maybe they could bring Justus back from the dead and pair them up.

She was with Jax at the time. She and Sonny still slept together after leaving Michael at the clinic, grieving and so forth.

From what I've seen DAYS seems still pretty horny, but that's Ron being oversexed and it's not necessarily done very well. BTG has come out of the gate pretty hot and heavy, which is good. The pendulum has begun to swing back in some media and not others - we'll see how long that lasts. GH is behind.

I would absolutely bring Justus back from the dead (for Portia), but I would give Lois an entirely new man. On contract: The dreaded word for FV with anyone over 40 and not from OLTL or another soap.

I'm not at all concerned about Violet or Finn, or any other iteration of a Michael Easton character. I simply do not believe it is anything but what I'm going to call fan hysteria. No doubt that if he'd been able to, Frank would have kept him. I do not see him getting him back though. And, fortunately, Violet is off canvas because Finn is. Praise to Soap Jesus!

Yup.  It 100% would have been Sidwell if not for Frank's desire to make Eva relevant.  Rena should never be just scraping by with the worst material.  This has been a horrible return.  Not even Brenda horrible because at least the show used Brenda.  Lois is practically a background character at this point.

Ugh they had sex multiple times post-that limo sex.  They got remarried and had a whole ass useless child post-Jax.

Rena just has a better presence than Setton even though Setton's early work was promising in other roles.  She lost some spark along the way or something.

Any time I see those moments on DAYS it comes across as dolls being thrown together (not helped by his obsession with men I find about as sexually appealing as Snuffy Smith [and I am not talking about Greg Rikaart]), but you're right, it is still more than GH. I haven't seen BtG yet - I've heard they have nothing for the gay characters but I am not judging them on that, considering where this country is headed.

Lois does deserve a new man. I just find most of the new male characters in that age range to be such dullards.

It seemed like whatever she tried doing in primetime dimmed her spark. I guess that's why Frank brought her on, from friendship, as it doesn't seem to be down to writing her based on who Brook Lyn used to be.

I'm half-surprised they didn't have them actually have sex around the time of Carly lying that they were hooking up in Tracy's room or wherever the alibi was.

Actually, me too.  I think the show was just entirely a mess and Jason/Carly, Sonny/Ava, Carly/Jagger, Ava/Jagger were all being played with and nothing really ended up happening.

I still can't believe everyone was just

    • As you all know, my memories are sketchy, and at the time of this story, GH was probably at its most awful in its history.  I think Patsy Rahn was still playing Monica at this time, and her Monica was not written as a sympathetic character, so maybe that's why the viewers were able to forgive Steve, because it appears Steve was more interested in saving Jeff's life than Rick-infatuated Monica was.

Agreed.  Again, I really like the pace of the mystery. RonC always wrote a shocking crime, then it would be solved only through exposition at the end.  I feel like the audience is being shown some respect by them carefully closing all the loopholes.  For example, having Shawn-D call Rafe to turn in his gun was a clever device to get Gabi to confess. As much as I agree with @carolineg about the odd shift in Sophia's character, this plot is starting to make me angry.  A woman is denied an abortion and forced to raise a child?  It is gross.  The stomach pains are a hopeful foreshadowing.  But, if she fakes pregnancy, or hides his miscarriage, I am going to scream!!! Roman continues to be a mench, but I have to admit that I can never keep track of the difference between Max and Benjy.  I guess it helps that Benjy is dead.  Is Max still related to Carly?
    • If Sally Field had been more generous about the writing I would say that her assessment is really very fair. I found Soapdish very funny. The cast is great. Delirious with John Candy and Mariel Hemingway (and Emma Samms!) came out the same year and I had expected to prefer Delirious, but Soapdish is one that I can watch repeatedly.
    • I love SOAPDISH but I think TOOTSIE is better. Generally I am quite fond of gender-benders. VICTOR, VICTORIA, most favorite.
    • On GL we only saw young GA's Philip in very short shorts but on AMC we saw GA's Alec McIntyre in a speedo.  But, on GL, an older GA/Philip is having sex with Olivia in a hotel room where Bruce Barry was directing & he & she both end up down to nothing but black underwear & at one point his bicep is covering her entire upper body so it appears that she is naked. I think they ended up on the floor between the bed & the wall. That was when I realized that Grant's body was better than Steve Burton's. (Olivia was cheating. Her husband Alan was in the hospital.) It is notable that I can speak with any insight AT ALL about these bodies since that is not the team I play for! LOL
    • I mentioned that last week and I am glad Tate and Sophia just realized that today lol.  I think the show is just tying up some of Ron's loose ends.   You would think Brady, Holly or even Marlena would have perhaps pointed out the age thing to Tate at some point. I am not sure I like this shift in Sophia's characterization though.  MK played Sophia as someone who always defied her mom's rules-she just didn't get caught.  She was openly trying to steal Tate from Holly with no shame, showing up at the Horton cabin in bikinis to seduce him, and blackmailing Holly to work all her shifts at the Bistro.  Once the recast started the show has acted like Sophia's lived in her room, sheltered her entire life lol.
    • I thought Dante was going to put hands on Gio
    • If Jordan never appeared again, I would absolutely not notice or miss her.  So, while Brook Kerr has her flaws, she at least appears to have a pulse and a personality as Portia.
    • That's because India, or the India MKA ended up playing, was created due to the fact that both she and Kristi Farrell were liked by TPTB, but the part they both read for didn't exactly fit either one of them so the show created two brand new characters for both actresses to play (India and Roxie) and opted not to cast the character they were intending to cast (A cousin of Beth's). I think that's why the show seemed to struggle at first with how to write both India and Roxie in their first months on the show because the characters weren't ever intended to exist.  And yes.. Grant A had a great body... but I didn't find him hot when he was playing Phillip.. only when he was playing Alec on AMC which baffles me since it was the same actor in both parts LOL
    • I shared this on Twitter and good grief the comments. Steffy fans can be such vile real-life human beings over a fictional character lol.
