Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! Not a Liz-centric episode!!!!!!!! And then her first scene was with JASON?? Let me just fall out now. lol. Not even too soon after all her recurring scenes with Lucky and Ric, too. I stay liking the rotation when it comes to Liz and 'her men.' lol.

I mean...that was a great start to the week. So much was going on that I liked. I loved Liz having the goods on Cyrus and went to her trump card Jason first, told/showed him. Then she walked over to Anna and told/showed her. So if something happens to her, it's all on the table. Smart. And Rebecca Herbst was eating all those scenes up with intelligence, sass, and classic heroine. I have been enjoying seeing her, but she's been mostly B/C plot placed as of late. She felt like a central character today, and I didn't mind it one bit.

I had forgotten that Drew is slowly targeting Jason AND Sonny so I loved him actually acting like a major manipulative player today. Not like Drew, but the Drew Q that has been emerging over the past year. Like a sinister sense of agency. Cam already plays a good prick, but he hit a whole other level today in Drew walking into that meeting with Laura, Curtis, and Jordan waiting.

I've been meaning to say it, but I kept forgetting, but I've been loving Tabyana bringing back her braids lately. I even liked the cute little Joss/Trina scenes because it felt like a couple of friends rather than just plotpoint scenes. And awww at Trina feeling weird to go to Kai due to Spencer. Meanwhile, there goes Joss off into the Cyrus storyline.

Ugh at all things Jason/Sasha. I had seen those pictures of the kiss and figured it was a facade. Good to be right. smh. Frank Those writers suuure are trying their best to sell it. Like I said...Britt and Jason this is not. This...is just propping. Silly propping at that. Perhaps if they built on the growing Sasha/Willow rivalry better, it might hit better. Until then...the only reaction that felt organic to the scene was, of course, Mac's. lol. Who I loved seeing throughout the episode.

Those Sonny/Carly scenes were so place holder scenes. But I have to say...it was soooo Carly in character. Hehe. Not surprising given who was the HW in charge for this episode.

Hehe at Tracy being petty about Willow's car.

Good coda with Liz having a target on her back by Cyrus. As expected.

One thing I can always give GH. They will at least give us a VD episode...something Y&R continues to fumble. For one...this was not fantasy episode...humor aside.

I will never not look at that shower and not think about Caveman Dante and how hot he looked in it. lol.

While Y&R and B&B can't seem to put couples together to save their live for the most part, at least GH has something to play with. Brad and Lucas. Trina and Kai. Liz and Lucky. Mac and Felicia. Brennan and Carly. Dante and Lulu. Aidan and Tobias. I like some better than others, but there are at least couples.

I did like the Brad and Lucas stuff. Or more like I liked the follow-up on Lucas going out on a date. And seeing the date. And he was foine. lol. But there Lucas winded up back around Brad. I'm sure Carly is going to like that.

Brennan and Carly were fluff. So was Chase and BLQ...though that song was cute. So was Trina and Kai...though I liked Portia being the worried mama. Even Aidan and Tobias. I giggled at the fact they are trying to de-aged the actor a bit. And as for Tobias...I personally just like having the payoff of such a long running thread in him finally appearing.

Hehe at Mac and Felicia. I wouldn't mind him a spoiler for the lame Jason/Sasha storyline. Heck, I might care more if he was.

The meatier stuff was left to Liz and Lucky and Lulu and Dante for me (cuz we know I was not here for Jason and the 'whiny' version of Anna though I appreciate the little ring of truth in those scenes).

Lulu and Dante needed more bonding (not forced) time together. And this I liked. It continued to touch on how out of time Lulu had been and her struggle to get back to normal. As well as Dante and those feelings he still has for Sam. It was nice to see Dante laugh for a second. And I really felt the sparks between AB and DZ.

I thought Temp Lucky did decent. Seem like he studied JJ a little bit. But...again...everything else was fine, but the kiss. Not because they did not do well. I thought they did very well. But people are going to be annoyed at such an important moment for Lucky and Liz after decades for some of wanting them back together...has been tainted. I will see how I feel when JJ is back. For all I know tomorrow the scenes got reshot and JJ will be in them and all will be forgiven. We'll see.

Second episode in a row where Liz felt central. Not as good for me as Monday, but loved them all the same. More of the motherly and softer side of Liz. And yes, that coda took my breath away.

Can't wait for tomorrow on that.

I feel like it was good ole revenge. Because just about everyone Cyrus has encountered in the last week and a half have mentioned that it was Liz that was on to him or brought her up in some way that he probably blames her for figuring out what he's been up to...outside of his encounter with Joss yelling at him at the police station.

Unless he wants to kill her and make it look like she was behind it all in the first place...which would still look suspicious.

But perhaps I'm looking too deep into Jeff Kober's solo scenes yesterday which I felt was trying to set up for a slow spiral/walls closing in. But that might be to Jeff's ability to be a good actor that can convey that through his eyes and body language than what was on the page.

I had this same thought too.  I just don't know who would believe that on the show.

At this point the walls are closing in on Cyrus, but no one is actually making any moves.  He could realistically just skip town at this point and disappear.

I mean if they can dumb down THE Anna Devane, sadly anything is possible.

Don't get me started on the pacing. Didn't Lucky and Liz get the real tea on Cyrus at the end of January's. Even by PC's timetable...it's February 14 as of today's episode...and still two weeks ago. They should have been building more smoothly than it has been. Moreso since it was Lucky on one side of the story and Joss on the other side coming to a collision course with each other and each having a piece of information that would help the other realize it was Cyrus. Which at least we got that...and that was a while ago as well.

I still feel like both sides should be more involved than what they are given they (Lucky/Liz, Joss) know the truth yet they are still off in their own corners. Add on the Danny/Jason wrinkle and Dante/Chase wrinkle and I don't see how the Cyrus storyline hasn't turned into a whole umbrella tale. And I don't see how it can come to a conclusion that will make sense and satisfy all of its plot points, either tbf.

Come on now. Tobias helped Aiden make a Valentine's Day cake for Elizabeth.

But seriously, General Hospital acts as if it's 1989 when it comes to gay characters. Why did they even bother recasting a new Aiden and Lucas?

It's an act.  Tobias is really straight.  He's just using Aiden for some nefarious purpose.  Trust.  Watch.  Believe.

The economy has been rough on everyone, @Vee.

But seriously.  I just don't trust Aiden and Tobias' relationship.  Aiden's feelings toward Tobias are legit, but I don't think the feelings are mutual.  (Don't ask me why, it's just a gut feeling!)

    • Trust is very easily lost and very hard to re-build.
    • Oh, I know it was. I was just talking about how it's not giving me parallels to Caroline dying. It's really as far from it as possible.  But about the foreshadowing - Hahahhahah. Yes. And you missed one - Liam googling - "what is cancer"...
    • GH 2-17-21 Denise Alexander's last appearance https://www.instagram.com/p/DJdjXgwJ1Ez/
    • @Maxim This Liam dying out of the blue was crafted in a hurry for three reasons: 1. To facilitate JMW's leave 2. To prop Steffy - 'Oh, Steffy has so much grace and moral superiority that she ignored everything that swine HoLo did to tell her for the sake of their daughters. Queen Stephanie would be so proud of her!' 3. Distracting Steffy enough to give Lunacy an easy way to slither into Finn's life. Once Luna discovers that Lame is dying, she'll play that card: 'Dad, life is too short and precious!' If this was an intentional story, we would've had the typical B&B foreshadowing - Liam faceplanting into a bowl of pasta, Lame missing meetings, being forgetful. Instead, Lame does an impulsive quick quit and $B doesn't even care enough to make a single attempt to get him back? Please.
    • https://www.tvinsider.com/1180503/denise-alexander-dead-general-hospital-lesley-webber/ Alexander made her soap opera debut as Lois Adams on The Clear Horizon in 1960, but her big break came in 1966 when she was cast as Susan Hunter Martin on Days of Our Lives while still attending college at UCLA. As Susan, Alexander played a host of dramatic tales, including murdering her husband David Martin (played by Clive Clerk) in May 1967 after the death of their son. “She started out as the bad girl and was thrown out of boarding school for smoking and drinking,” recalled Alexander to We Love Soaps TV. “The character caught on and sparked something with the audience, and that is how Susan became an important part of the show. I was there for almost seven years…. I had such a wonderful time on Days. It was like going to camp every day for me. I loved the people, loved the show, and loved what I got to do. They loved the character and liked me as an actor and gave me lots of neat stuff to do. I didn’t even ask for a vacation for five years because if I worked 365 days a year, I thought I was great. It was a very good time in my life.” In 1973, Alexander was in contract negotiations with Days when ABC offered significant perks to the actress to join General Hospital to play Dr. Lesley Williams. Though Alexander loved her time in Salem, she decided to leave. “It was [Days’ Executive Producer] Betty Corday who sent me to General Hospital,” Alexander told welovesoaps.net. “She said, ‘You must do this.’ So when I went to General Hospital..."

    • Now that GL and LOL synopses are being added I'd welcome requests for specific soaps from 1976.
    • By 78 NBC daytime was struggling. They knew what the issues were but failed to make the changes needed to get those young gals watching.  Jan 78 Plans for NBC's daytime programs - which are in third place -are apparently less well defined at the moment. Michael Brockman, a former daytime programer at ABC, took the position of vice president in charge of daytime for NBC just a few weeks ago. He and his chief assistant, Mary Alice Dwyer (an associate of Mr. Brockman at ABC), are in the process of analyzing the network's schedule to determine where to begin making changes. One thing Mr. Brockman knows, he said, is that NBC needs more women18 -49 (NBC is currently last in that category in daytime). "Whatever you design," he said, "has to fundamentally appeal to that demographic." He indicated, however, that he is less concerned with the network's afternoon serial block than he is with its morning game show and rerun mix, and, like his counterparts at the other networks, Mr. Brockman discounts the notion that recent drops in daytime viewership may be attributable to the one -hour serial form. The first changes were indeed in the morning. In April 78 Card Sharks replaced Sanford and Son reruns at 10am and High Rollers was introduced at 11am knocking Wheel of Fortune back to 11.30 replacing Knockout. Sanford and Son moved to noon replacing To Say the Least. On paper that looked like a stronger schedule. The next move in July was the disastrous America Alive at noon, replacing Sanford and The Gong Show, which set them back even further. Finally in October 78, Jeopardy was brought back at 10.30 and Hollywood Squares moved to 1pm replacing another flop For Richer for Poorer. The only major change for the soaps apart from cancelling FRFP, was Linda Grover as headwriter for The Doctors as of April 78.
    • Yeah, Ben and Evie don't start interacting in a 'we're going to pair them together as a couple' way until Feb/March 1977 when she recommends Ben paint a portrait for Jackie.  And Evie's working for Jackie so she and Ben interact and start to become friends.  That happens after Tim breaks up with  her and she's forgiven her sister.. and he and Hope break up after he covers for his younger brother for a crime that he had committed.  Jackie does come onto the canvas in December 1976 and the first months are her trying to snag Mike while she and Justin seem to play a cat and mouse game with one another as he's trying to restart things with Sara again. I often wonder if the Phillip story only came about because the show was going to be expanded to an hour.. and the Dobson's deciding that some of the new characters they were introducing could be tied to Justin/Jackie's back story.
    • Seems like the Dobsons were aiming for a Joe/Sara/Justin triangle or, having decided that Joe would be killed off, Justin would be waiting in the wings. But that never came to pass and I don't think there was much reference to Justin/Sara as time went on.That was something that could have been used later on but Doug Marland may not have known or cared. Also, when the show went to an hour they could add a lot of characters and not rely on the stalwarts, hence Jackie/Alan/Elizabeth. And after Leslie died, Mike went into Dad mode with Hope. Hope/Ben never took off and Hope was replaced and then dropped and Ben moved on to Eve, whose romance with Tim fizzled and Jordan Clarke left (by choice?)
