GENERAL HOSPITAL - Episode Ò15094Ó - General Hospital" airs Monday - Friday, on ABC (check local listings). (ABC/Christine Bartolucci) NICHOLAS CHAVEZ

After being preempted on Tuesday, January 7 due to ongoing ABC News coverage that is scheduled to continue through the State Funeral of former President Jimmy Carter, “General Hospital” returned with an all-new episode on Wednesday, January 8.

In the episode, which picked up where Monday’s left off, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) can be seen fighting for his life as he was caught on fire following an explosion in his father’s penthouse.

As a result of the storyline taking place, and in light of the fires currently engulfing parts of Los Angeles County in California, the daytime drama series issued a public service announcement (PSA) on its social channels noting that the episode “may prove too difficult to watch for some.”

“Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the fires currently raging in Los Angeles County,” the show noted in its statement.

”In light of current events, today’s episode of ‘General Hospital’ (and several that follow) may prove too difficult to watch for some,” the statement continued. “Please keep this in consideration prior to tuning in. Thank you for your understanding.”
