Watching Monday’s episode where we got a very lengthy set of scenes with Laura and Lulu talking about their family—specifically the heartache Laura has had to deal with for years with Lucky gone, Lulu comatose, Nikolas in jail, and Spencer presumed dead then coming here and reading these last couple of pages made me question if we’re all watching the same show for a second.

The show could definitely utilize Genie Francis better but I don’t think her onscreen treatment is as egregious as its made out to be. I don’t agree that Tracy has gotten more screen time with Lulu than Laura has, it feels pretty evenly spilt to me—as it should considering how big of a role Tracy has played in Lulu’s life.

I’m still enjoying the show overall but centering so much drama around Cody as an activator and Sonny using Natalia to hide his heart issues definitely quailed my interest after a great run of episodes focused on the Michael/Willow/Drew/Tracy custody games.

I’ll just say it, Jane and Alexa have a much more believable chemistry than Genie and Alexa. If you had no prior knowledge and stumbled upon the show one day, you can easily assume Lulu was Tracy’s actual daughter and Laura was either an aunt or some close acquaintance.

I suppose you could say Genie and Alexa haven't really had the chance yet, but I agree. I just don't think there's anything especially compelling in the Laura/Lulu relationship and I don't think Genie has much of a spark with those around her (she did when she was younger, but I don't think her work has ever been the same since she was forced to return to the show in 1998). On paper, there's a story to tell about Lulu not being very close to Laura compared to Tracy because Tracy was there for her in the years Laura could not be, the years that made Lulu who she now is. Unfortunately, that story is probably never going to be told.

Not really an NAC fan, but I do wonder if it's all that uncommon for someone to not attend their former onscreen love interest's birthday party.

I just hope Tabyana gets more respect from the show. If not then I hope she leaves, if she is able to do so.

-- That entire scene with Tracy screaming about the mouse on the bookshelf and ordering Sasha to kill it was ludicrous. I understand needing a way to let everyone know Sasha is pregnant, but come on.

-- I do not care that Brook Lynn can have a baby. I do not care that Chase can't father one. But why does Brook Lynn look so confused when Chase tells her "I can't get you pregnant"?

The Babies Rabies on this show continues to be pathetic.

I enjoyed all the Quatermaine scenes today minus the recycling of the same Tracy being mean to Sasha set up. Everyone debating how to handle Willow was hilarious and Jason being in the middle of Q banter still blows my mind in a good way. I’m not surprised he figured out Michael was Sasha’s baby daddy so quickly.

Lois and Brook Lynn’s scenes were really good and the anvil dropping with Gio continues to make me laugh, same for Chase being a blank shooter.

I still like nuEmma a lot and she has good chemistry with FH and KW. Felicia warning Carly about Jack was also nice to see after their bonding over Bobbie’s death.

Speaking of Jackly I wish they would let them kiss already lol, I love their scenes though. Valentin popping up to strangle Jack at the end was a surprise I hope Jack ends up beating his creeper ass.

Poor Alexis finally finding out Sam was murdered. Portia is awful at her job tbh and the way she swerved Alexis off to Isaiah for questioning was funny but pathetic. When this story wraps I hope she and Terry lose their jobs.

I've read good and bad things about NAC, but we really don't know him. We have no idea why he didn't attend that birthday party, and it's ridiculous to claim it's because he thinks he's too big a star to be there.

I like Tabyana Ali, but I'm honestly not seeing her as some breakout star from the soaps. I just don't.

GH seems to be trying to give her story, but this stuff with Kai is deadly.

    • Where do you discover this crazy rumor??
    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier.  Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future.  I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest.  But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
    • It's a wild story for sure, especially the final conclusion (and fireworks offcamera, like Victoria Wyndham tearing into Michael Logan).
