No new episode today? Why are they showing a repeat?

I'm not sure who you're considering to be in Sonny's clan at this point. I think they've made a lot of progress moving both Jason & Carly away from Sonny. 

I'm not sure who watched today's Encore episode but I think they showed it to us for a couple of reasons. 

I think today for the first time Brook Lynn was really close to telling Chase that as a teen she had a baby. I wonder if she thinks that baby died. I'm sure that she does not know that Gio is that baby. Lois knows & she may be the only one who does.

Then we saw Jason's devotion to Carly. He stayed to see what Brennan wanted because he knew that Brennan had been the one who deleted Carly's FBI audio file. It is hilarious that Jason has still not told Carly that fact. At some point she is going to find out & she is going to be so furious with Jason for not telling her immediately.

Carly had a great line. Brennan suggested making things up to her by having supper together, how about Tuesday, he proposed. Carly: How about never?! (Loved it!!)

We saw Kelly Monaco have a good scene as Sam, being loving & considerate to Dante, about Lulu, who we all just found out is in real danger of dying without a liver transplant.

Far away, in Somalia at Sidwell's compound, Lucky has managed to get himself to be a prisoner when he went there by intent to try to rescue Isaiah who is a prisoner there.

Tracy, very emotional, sits at Lulu's bedside & talks to her about how as Luke's child she can never give up & that she has his heart, his courage & his infuriating stubbornness.

Lois, upset by a caller when she was selling Deception products on Home & Heart, decides to work with a dialect coach to be able to sound more sophisticated. 

All in all, there was a helluva lot in this episode!

If Anne Schoettle was fired as editor she would have been around for 15 weeks/75 episodes. We'll have to see if her name isn't listed on the next original episode.  I thought her hiring at GH was odd in the first place.

Encore performances were announced. And, if tomorrow is anything like today was, these have been chosen for reasons having to do with the current show. I know that sounds like "Are you kidding me? There is no way GH could do that kind of thing I mean do it effectively." But, IMO, at least, that was done today.

All of the GH repeats are like that, that I've tracked for several years.
Whenever there is planned repeat,  GH selects prior episodes that contain characters/scenes that are connected to something/someone in the current new episodes of the show.

Great! That means I'm not actually crazy! Well, I guess that's not the best way to say that. What I mean is I never knew this so today I was surprised & I wasn't sure if I should doubt myself. Your information & the history behind it is confirmation, in my case, much needed confirmation. So thanks for that!
