That alone is enough to make me look at the PM tenure as a fail. With a cast of dozens, you're getting rid of Maura West? Just no.

I feel bad for Eden, too, and it's really the reason I'm not sure about killing off Dex. Three deaths for Joss already? There were a lot of ways to make the Dex character work, and GH avoided all of them.

I didn't think Patrick intended on killing Ava. I get it that he felt he couldn't write for such a large, bloated cast. I understand why since it seemed he was intent on writing for everyone.

We all had our own cut lists, usually of 15 people, different ones of us chose different people to cut. Such a disappointment when there simply was no purge.

Now on to today.

I loved the reactions on all the faces at the Q Xmas party. Finally Carly knows why Jason fought with Drew! The last thing Willow should do is grab those kids. Is Dex really dead or is this a fake-out? If it is, it's a really good one.

As everyone knows I am not the biggest Ava or MW fan, but it seems a bit silly to me.  I will say Ava had lost her way as a character and PM was pivoting her back into villain territory which is where Ava should stay.

Then again, I am an active Sam hater and I probably wouldn't have gotten rid of KeMo either.  I never thought Sam was useful, but she had history and a decent sized fanbase.  I am not sad about losing Sam-just a little shocked.  I would have fired at least 10 people before her.

I liked Dex fine.  You could have done something with the character.  I won't miss him, but at least he and Joss got some actual sexy love scenes.  Like someone said above, Joss is veering into Maxie territory with the dead boyfriends.  I thought she did a pretty good job yesterday with the material.

I did too.

Ready for a good laugh? The person that wrote this article describes him as steely, and so integral the show will never be the same again. Oh to be white, muscular and young, people let you get away with mediocrity! This entire article is peppered with nonsense!

Yeah, Joss as a character mostly annoys me, but I do think Eden's a decent actress.

The problem with GH for me is there are a lot of characters I just don't feel passionate about.  I don't love them or actively hate them.  They are just there.  I don't have any personal investment in them.

I think that's why I still like Sonny and Jason.  I obviously know they both have been ruined and are awful, but they at least made me feel something once.

There is a lot of truth to this for me too. And what you said about Sonny and Jason colors my viewing habits of the entire show. It used to make me feel something, and so I am still tied there out of my history, and how I feel about the genre as a whole.

I actually didn't mind Dex having no ties to the canvas.  It feels like everyone on GH has become someone's long lost child these past few years.  Sticking him with Joss and her friends all the time was weird.  Dex seemed too old for them.  In typical GH fashion, the show had no idea what to do with Dex and just kept him around to give Joss something to do.  The Sonny stuff was silly because it never really went anywhere.  Sonny found out, beat Dex up, and.........the end lol.

    • I will defend Dante.  People already suspect he may be a bit unstable from time to time (from his time as a prisoner).  And, he's taking care of other people's kids from time to time.  So, he has reason to be cautious with those in his care.
    • Josh continues to try and milk Abbott/Newman rivalry. First it was Billy/Victoria, then Kyle/Summer, then Noah/Allie (that worked out well) and now Kyle/Claire. Do we have any inkling when Billy Flynn will arrive and who he will play? I'm sure Cole's illness will mostly play offscreen. What's in store for Nick and Sharon? Is it time to put them back together? I can't see any other romantic options. Nick has no children on the canvas to play off, as Christian is never seen. Sharon has only Mariah onscreen.
    • I would appreciate (if they're not coming), for future scripts to refer to them by their iconic hairdos.  For example, if Hope needs to call Chelsea because Bo has Sepsis, I'd like Shawn-D to say, "My Mom called Chelsea (the one with the sassy short black hair) for an update." Also, new rule, if Melanie does return, she needs to dye her hair back to red.  I googled who she was five times during Victor's funeral.

    • Broderick, thank you for all of the info [I edited for space]. I am so grateful for everyone filling in the blanks for me. I suspected the Nora/Eliot scene was very important and it was setting something up but I didn't know what. Can't wait to see it play out. The two actors had such a great back and forth. I should have made the Paige/Patty Hearst connection. I thought Paige was in love with Brian from the first episode I watched but it seemed as if they were brother and sister. Steve kept being affectionate with her so I assumed he was the love interest. Then she was affectionate with someone else and well..she's a very busy woman. I can't wait to see Frances Fisher show up. (I'm trying to be vague because I don't know what would be a spoiler in this storyline) Now it makes sense why Draper would be upset. I didn't get the whole background of why he didn't go to NY. I'm a sucker for good acting, so I might still side with April and Margo, if the writers don't give Draper more to do besides yelling.  He had more chemistry with Logan, but I know that's not happening.  Something else I noticed: the show really takes care with even the smallest parts. The acting is superb. Too often, I noticed on older soaps they don't take care with the recurring or day players (Ryan's Hope was so bad with this that I couldn't make it through some episodes). It's only been six episodes, but so far, the casting department was spot on.
    • I thought Dante was overreacting.  Gio made some mistakes but he's young and he tried.  It's not like he dragged two 14 years to a party and made them get blackout drunk.  Dante can have the initial upset reaction, but to go on and on was a bit much.
    • His (adoptive) nieces.  Chelsea and Stephanie.  I think Abby was involved too, but I am not sure if they are related lol.
    • That was such a dark story. I never liked Swamp girl after that. And then the dating your cousin thing. I think wasn’t Max in a triangle with two of his cousins?
    • Thank you, @j swift.  I'm probably more sympathetic to Draper Scott than most audience members are -- even though I'm absolutely CRAZY about Ann Williams & her bizarre Margo Huntington character

The more I watch these episodes -- and I've watched several of them a zillion times, I'm ashamed to admit -- you realize there's a WHOLE lot of passive-aggressive hostility brewing inside Margo Huntington about Draper.  She wants to take April AWAY from him and recreate the childhood that she never got to experience with April, because of the adoption 25 years ago.  Draper has sense enough to realize how heartless and vindictive Margo really is about other people's lives and their feelings, but he bites his tongue rather than poison his wife's mind about how horrible her mother really is.  And I admire him for that.  He's a sweet boy.
    • Unfortunately, as the 90s wore on, Felicia started wearing as many gray and neutral tones as Giorgio Armani and Donna Karan could produce, and the shoulder pads deflated to a drop sleeve.
    • I think Dante is reacting how most parents would react.
