I watched those T.J./Molly break-up scenes. I thought TB’s performance was a major yikes. He obviously has access to his emotions, but a good director should have intervened. Obviously that wasn’t going to happen on this show, and I’ve seen other good actors on this show lose control (I remember they even had the gifted old pro Jeff Kober screaming at the top of his lungs against those sensitive mics). The writing and scene length didn’t help—as they didn’t allow Tajh to really build to that explosion of anger.

Not sure what they’re doing with Sonny. The show is clearly telegraphing an attempt on Ric’s life at some point (like his comparison of Ric to Jagger and the spooky close-up of Maurice’s red-rimmed eyes as he spoke to Natalia). Hopefully RH gets to stick around.

NLG is the MVP. These past few weeks have been a total showcase of what she can do on the regular.

I like Alexa Havins as Lulu, but I knew she was going to be a pro. She’s grown a lot as an actress since her Babe days (and she was decent then). Everything is very compressed time-wise on this show, but she’s been navigating all of the changes in mood expertly (her delight and anxiety with all of the reunions and the horror of learning the tragedies that occurred while she was comatose). She did her homework.

Kristina and Molly both appear in the Monday previews. Counting Monday, Kristina will have appeared in 15 of the last 19 episodes. Molly will have appeared in 10 straight episodes and 13 of the last 14. Both of my girls are getting a lot of screen time and the actresses are earning it.

They have Kristina putting the K in See You Next Tuesday...and frankly I love it. Current day daytime is lacking in divisive characters, ones meant to intentionally piss off a segment of the audience. GH, the only soap I've watched a full episode of in nearly 15 years, is weighted down with milquetoast "good" people. Even Sonny, the world's most progressive crime lord, spends most of his screen time giving sage, saintly advice to decent people.

Kristina though? Despicable, selfish, incapable of thinking rationally before reacting but under the impression that she's doing the right thing. And I'm here for it. I need more people to call her out on her sh*t but I can live with this for now because it's entertaining. I do not like her but I like what she brings to the canvas, the ire she conjures up in me when I know she's about to say something both unwarranted and unhinged.

I also REALLY enjoyed her scenes with Sonny the other day and I haven't enjoyed any scene with Sonny in nearly a year. But I liked Sonny, the immature, imbalance mobster who lives his life always on the verge of losing it with his family and friends over the most miniscule slight, encouraging her to give into her desire for revenge. It's BAD advice and from anyone else it would just be bad writing but from Sonny? Makes perfect sense. And for him to say to Kristina, the child most like him? Makes even more sense.

If they're positioning Kristina as his heir apparent I say bring it on.

Darn and I have had this discussion and I mostly agree with him. I also think it's complicated because of how the show has handled Kristina for years.

I think Mansi is capable but like so many talents on this show (including Jonathan Jackson and hopefully less so Alexa Havins next) is often wasted by the storytelling, scripts and pacing. For months when KM first came on she was near invisible or seemed like it, saddled to a boring background timewaster story with the surrogacy and a mediocre dayplayer for a love interest. I wasn't the only one wondering why she was hired to do nothing. Then (unlike Darn, we had this discussion, quiet you!) I actually thought she came into her own very strong during the Patrick Mulcahey months in the spring and began actively carrying a meandering show where she was the heroine starting to square off in a reasonably intelligent and forthright way against Natalia, Joss and the manipulative Ava in Sonny's home, only to (once again) have her own illusions about her father crushed at the Chase wedding.

It was when PM had clearly left the building that the worm turned and she became just unbearable for me re: the baby, the miscarriage etc. and that's continued. If they want to move her into a more overt spoiled villain or schemer direction now that's valid and viable, I believe Mansi can play it and I think she deserves better from the show. But you have to have enough viewers still willing to follow her there after what she's already done and how the show and the wrtiing have seemingly coddled her as much as her mother and father, where it has clearly not seen her as the bad guy or someone to root against. That approach to how the show treats her has to change in order for the shift to work enough for the audience, which is something already stated above by my friend in fairness. I'm open to it, but I have little faith in this creative team. I don't blame Mansi, who I think is far more ready for primetime than Lexi Ainsworth. I would've been fine with Lexi staying but Kristina had been a C or D-character for years and that wasn't changing anytime soon. Could it have? Maybe. Could Lexi have handled it? Not sure. We're here now.

I agree so much with this. It’s also why I have loved Molly having enough of it from both Kristina and Alexis. It’s one of the few character turns lately on GH that feels earned and set up over years. She has repeatedly behaved impulsively and gotten herself into trouble, and Sonny and Alexis bail her out. I hope they keep this selfish edge because as you say, the rest of the town is filled with blandness.

I am in a similar place as @Vee is with Kristina.  I don't actually think the show is writing her like a villain.  To me at least, I feel like the show is setting us up to understand her point of view as well.  That makes Kristina more unbearable.  Molly only has Ric, of all people, fully on her side while everyone else is like "Poor Kristina".  I definitely don't mind a character like Kristina on GH where everyone is either nice or EVIL.  The writing is just not hitting the mark.  Unless this leads to Kristina becoming a full on bad girl she's basically been written into a corner.  A lot of people on GH are just co-signing her crap because she's "traumatized".

I mean, her husband of 40 plus years just passed away.  Perhaps Lynn is just taking a break?

No, Lynn Herring is still with the show. I suspect she may have taken some time off for personal matters. Wayne Northrop, you know, was her husband. RIP. He & his family apparently had great suffering before the end.

I am astounded. AFAIK the only people who are at all sympathetic to Kristina, currently, are Mama & Papa. Where are these hordes of understanding people? Kristina, if you ask me, has been written off by most of the town. Okay, one, I forgot about Natalia. (Easy to do!) But, she's only making nice because of Sonny. Alright, I'll give you Michael but he's just being a good big brother. Still, that's only 4 people.
