Him ripping Cat to shreds was definitely a long time coming. Casey Moss really got a chance to flex his acting muscles in these last two episodes and it’s good to see him do that. He’s fit back onto the canvas so well. Maybe he’ll end up being the one to kill Clyde lol him, Aaron, anybody.

Speaking of Aaron, I liked his scene with Holly today and how she comforted him over everything that happened with Cat and Mark. And I like that Aaron confessed to Holly that he told Tate to pursue Sophia. The two actors worked really well together. I don’t see Holly and Aaron as a couple but I could see a really good friendship develop between the two of them.

And yeah, Tate looked hot

Him and Sophia actually do make a nice couple but I also like the mess that they’re in lol I actually laughed a little at Tate’s mistake at the end of today. It could actually help build more sympathy for Sophia and I wouldn’t mind that at all. I’m looking forward to seeing where things go from here for the two of them and Holly. Just don’t turn Sophia into Jan.

And yeah, Rafe’s a dick but I’m liking this storyline. It’s a very realistic conflict and it somewhat plays into Rafe’s character and Jada’s too. Plus, as a couple, they were really boring lol so this is finally something good for them to do. It could go in so many different directions but hopefully, Rafe’s decision at the end of today is not one of them.

Having Gabi and Paulina continue to be a part of it could be really interesting as well.

Aww. I felt bad for Sophia today.  I was really puzzled by her outfit though.  Her denim skirt didn't cover her behind so it looked like she had a white shirt tucked into the skirt and that's what was covering her parts with a cropped glittery heart cardigan on top of that lol.

So I don't mind this Rafe/Jada story.  It's mildly interesting.  But Roman is right.  What Paulina is doing to Rafe is illegal.  I thought that the minute she said she was demoting him.  Does Paulina have advisors at all?  She makes all these decisions that just truly don't follow the basics of HR.  Even if we all know Jada is better than Rafe that's just not how a civil servant job works.

Casey Moss is really giving his all the first few days.  I don't have much hope it will last, but he's always been a solid actor.  It's his character that's mostly boring.

There was only one natural reaction today, and that was between JJ and Cat.  Although I think Chad is going through a lot to retrieve a dead body that he didn't even know was missing until a few weeks ago, JJ's anger feels justified.

On the other hand, why is Holly being so gracious to Aaron?  She thought nothing of toying with his emotions during prom.  But, now when his brother tried to shoot Chad during his wedding, she's totally cool with it.  Holly's an emotionally reactive teen.  One assumes that her experience with Cat would cause her to be less forgiving.

And the Jada and Gabi thing makes no sense.  It feels like the first time that they've ever been alone.  Gabi is blindly loyal to Rafe.  So, it seems like she would plant seeds of doubt in Jada, not teach her how to make tamales!

Everyone's being a little too nice today.

BTW good callback to Jada's sister today (I doubt later regimes will remember her).

Also, it would be a nice slap in the face for Rafe if Jada finally brings Clyde to justice, but I assume she'll need his rescue.

And, I am still hoping JJ doesn't become a cop again.  Maybe he could write the musical score for B&S?

Yeah, you and @Liberty City are correct JJ did have some interesting stories and Moss did good work.  I just keep remembering the show losing interest over several writing teams.  It's strange because it seems like JJ would be a character that would have a lot of possibilities.

I can't really remember liking him and Gabi, but I do remember liking the Theresa/Eve/JJ/Paige mess.  Unfortunately, Paige was a huge dud.

So were some of his other pairings like Hayley.

I think that's why I get Tripp/JJ confused sometimes because they were both involved with Hayley, but one married her and one didn't and she just died off screen in the time jump.  Even though Kristen pushing her and killing her was the most exciting thing Hayley ever did lol

    • There has been some confusion about Michael & facial burns. Please see this post: https://bsky.app/profile/shallotpeel.bsky.social/post/3lqkrryu54226 I've chosen to put this here instead of the Classic Thread because it is now with the appearance of recast Michael that this has come up. Different places online, including at least one podcast, remarks have been made about how remarkable it is that he is without facial scarring. Other fans say it was clear from the first that he did not have facial burns. What is included in this post is 2 screengrabs where you can see his face at the hospital & a very quick edit of that day in the hospital.
    • Put me in the LOVE KMH camp. As a poster alluded to above, her detractors seem to come from people who first experienced the 80s Emily actress. And that's often the case with soaps, myself included. I enjoy the original actor so much that I just never take to the recast. However, KMH played Emily far longer than the original - for almost 20 years - and when she had great material, she was great. I get the sense she didn't like playing the whiny oh-woe-is-me Emily which was all the material she got from about 1996 until she took over the Intruder in late '99/early '00 and got to play a stronger kiss-ass woman who didn't care what anyone thought of her. (Some would call that a bitch but, if a man was in that role, he'd just be called a smart and savvy businessman.) Her relationship with Hal was great. The transformation was done realistically and I thoroughly enjoyed those years the best out of all. Once the writers decided to break up those two, they went back to writing Emily half the time as whiny and pathetic. I preferred when the writers made her stronger.
    • Hahaha - I do. I've always been the type, though, that can't miss anything. I get FOMO, so I'll not skip episodes or fast forward anything. There are only a few TV shows I've dropped because they got so bad vs. sticking it out to the end.  The promise that GL 1997 is better is what keeps me going. I especially want to see the fallout of Blake's lie about her twins and then Annie's descent which I believe won Watros's Emmy.
    • Rita's rape is an episode i constantly search on YouTube hoping one day that it will show up. I always feel like I may have seen it, but I was only 6 at the time and can never figure any of the things I have vague recollection of

FROM THE VAULT: NON-SOAP DAYTIME RATINGS: HIGHLIGHTS FROM AUGUST 1973 & NOVEMBER 1973:
    • The rape was in 1979 after they were married. Blake was the result of Holly cheating with him while she was married to Ed. I believe she was born in 1975.
    • No. Ed and Holly were married and having problems. She had an affair with Roger and that's when Christina--Blake--was conceived. The rape happened much later, after Holly and Roger were married.
