Related, but different Bells that provided the last name.

It's just how things lined up; only one of the times Robert Adamson has come in has been explained (not like we need to know why. That's personal). His initial stint was COVID-related (per Chad Duell's own words) and, due to how filming is now done, he appeared sporadically from June to July 2022. He appeared in two episodes in September 2022⏤no reason was given (and anyone stating a reason is purely speculative).

This latest stint was explained as a "scheduling conflict" on behalf of Duell⏤and again, anyone stating otherwise is purely speculative.

Yeah, okay that's what I thought.  I remember thinking the Bells had to be old to "adopt" or pretend to be Cody's parents since Katherine was a woman in her late 20's at least when Cody was born.   Since none of this timeline makes any sense with Cody I suppose the ages could have dialed back a bit or something.

Lol.  Cody throws a lot of timelines out of whack.  Considering he was Dante's buddy as a kid that would mean Dante is approximately the same age as well and Sonny was close to 30 when he arrived in town in 1993.  Which leads me to believe Dante had to be born in like 1983.  So was Cody born years before we saw Mac/Dominique meet on screen?

It's amazing how just a few years ago Nina was eating up so much screentime with the whole relationship with Sonny and her ensuing rivalry with Carly via "the Granny Wars" and now it's like she's pretty much irrelevant and reduced to being a C-level character at best. If I were Cynthia Watros, I would start looking for better career opportunities elsewhere. I won't be surprised if Nina gets written off the show entirely eventually once this whole storyline with Drew/Willow dies down.

At least Nina has legitimate reasons for being the way that she is that were established many years ago. She has a history of being emotionally stunted from that two decade long coma she was in thanks to her psycho mother Madeline and she also has had serious mental health issues. Yeah she can be extremely annoying at times but she obviously has some redeeming qualities.

I really hated her during the whole Nixon Falls storyline and when she was married to Sonny, she was truly insufferable, but she really doesn't bother me too much these days now. Sometimes I even feel sorry for her, especially with the way Drew treats her like crap. I get the impression that at least one of the current headwriters (Korte) is a big Carly fan and doesn't seem to care too much for Nina.

If Nina is going to be on this show at all, then she's better off as a supporting character who lends a supporting ear to her friends and family and who's happily single. At least write for her. It just seems ludicrous to me that she's been played by somebody like Cynthia Watros who obviously has a stellar reputation as an actress and yet she's barely getting written for or having any screen-time. Also the writers have botched the whole Nina/Willow storyline so badly that I just don't care for them as mother and daughter and their relationship just comes off as forced and contrived to me. Hopefully when Willow finds out that Nina has been banging Drew on the side while she was secretly pining over him she decides to wash her hands of her for good and has nothing to do with her ever again.

I am clearly not the world's biggest Nina fan, but it seems like she is still on a lot lol.  She doesn't currently have an "A" storyline and is more supporting currently, but she keeps popping up in different storylines with different people.  It seems more like a normal ebb and flow for a character not named Sonny, Jason, or Carly.

I am not the best person to ask, but it seemed like she was?  Someone who tracks episodes would know.  Sometimes Nina just popped in mid episode, but I feel like she was with Drew a few times, Willow, Sasha, and Ava at least.  It's obvious CW/Nina's airdates have diminished, but she still has her hands in multiple stories.  I was just thinking it was resting and resetting Nina more than a sign that Nina was on her way out.

    • Tbf it's not unusual for a family when they are dealing with some bad news that changes a life to use song to give out hope.Especially black families. I personally had to deal with that very thing this weekend. Partly off putting, but at the same time, I did get the point and it gave me a bit of hope in the moment.      MM is definitely acting. But Smitty is just so passive. It could turn into quiet strength at some point, but for now...passive IMO.
    • Am I remembering correctly that the Madison's lived in a Spanish revival-style house? I have a vague recollection of the fireplace looking especially Spanish in style. It is unusual that Montecello had so many architectural styles.  Obviously, that might occur IRL.  But, look at other east coast soaps and there is a definitive style that is throughout (because it was styled by a set decorator) regardless of the income of the occupants.
    • @kalbir MSW was a powerhouse for CBS. Angela Lansbury was a superb actress. In 1985, TV viewers were tiring of the primetime soaps and the like. People wanted storytelling and MSW was great at that and had great guest stars. Storytelling -- an amazing and novel concept. CBS Daytime by 1985 was beating ABC so CBS was on the upswing.
    • I'd say just the opposite - conflict means they will find out and then be at odds. For the limited amount of time people on this show have conflict (if they aren't named Nina or Ric, I guess).
    • Totes mcgoats (aka I agree). But, now the character needs to move forward.  Clyde's exit was 12/11/24.  It is May.  She and Chad have been on one date. I don't think they've slept together. And she was only planning on sticking around for a year.
    • That is one of the best insults I've heard in a long time.  I burst out laughing when Kat called Eva that.  LOL Their scenes, of course, were really good.  Colby and Ambyr have so much chemistry.  The only thing I'd change is Kat saying "you're dead to me."  That's a phrase usually said about someone you care about.  I would've preferred something like "You will never be my sister," or something similar to that.  Nice contrast at the end with both mothers/daughters:  Kat comforting/consoling her mother, and Eva being locked out by her mother.  Yeah, I wasn't a big of fan of the singing either, especially after your daughter's life has been destroyed.  What?  LOL And I also agree with those that thought Dana/Leslie's scenes with the Dupree's didn't feel right since Eva is not a Dupree....unless she is.  But as of right now, she's not.
    • Trisha Mann-Grant, Ambyr Michelle, Sean Freeman are destined for bigger and better things. They need to move on as soon as their initial contracts are done.
    • Daphnée Duplaix and Trisha Mann-Grant on Instagram live, 5/5/2025 just concluded, saved here https://www.instagram.com/p/DJSsYb7PDv8/
    • I really need to see Anita in a scene that isn't with a family member. In fact, I would have preferred that she would have gotten rid of the mob and had a one on one with Leslie to lay down the law with her.  I'm going to say it, Mike Manning has been completely lifeless on this show. Other than people's superficial fondness for him, I don't get what they see in him as an actor. I never saw him on DAYS though. The show had another really strange cut right before the opening credits where it looked like they almost cut off Nicole mid-sentence.  Kat/Eva are carrying this show on their backs. Lock them in for lifetime contracts, I beg.
    • There's a 1980 scene of Victor and Katherine in the Chancellor Estate living room where they went over a contract that would put Victor in charge of Chancellor Industries, but it was rewritten that Katherine brought Victor to Genoa City so he could run Chancellor Industries.
