Production is now underway for “Home Sweet Christmas,” starring Candace Cameron Bure and Cameron Mathison (Drew Cain, “General Hospital”), Great American Family announced on Wednesday.

The movie, which premieres later this year as part of the network’s beloved Great American Christmas franchise, sees Bure playing the role of Sophie Marlow, a successful mergers and acquisitions attorney who is called home to Waynesbridge, Washington following her great uncle’s passing.

After Uncle Henry leaves Sophie 60% ownership in his Marlow Maple Meadows, a sprawling patch of sugar maple forest, she decides to pay a visit to the property for the first time in decades and immediately begins to trace her steps back to her youth before encountering an adult Sam (Mathison), her long-lost, childhood friend. Incidentally, Sam is also back in town to visit the farm after learning Henry left him the other 40% of the property. Although a legacy property generally means a quick sale is likely, Sophie and Sam will soon discover that neither of them is ready to let it go just yet.

A Syrup Studios production in association with Candy Rock Entertainment, “Home Sweet Christmas” is being directed by Paula Elle based on an original screenplay written by Kevin Commins and Robin Dunne.

Mick MacKay serves as producer, with Candace Cameron Bure, Ford EnglerthJeffery BrooksHolly A. HinesEric JarboeGerald WebbTrevor McWhinney, Paula Elle, and Martin Wood as executive producers. Supervising producers include Jonathan ShoreRobyn Wiener and Michael Shepard, with David Oland serving as associate producer.

A premiere date for “Home Sweet Christmas” has not been set.

It's actually called that?!

I have a feeling the kind of product they put out makes "Little House on the Prairie" look raw and gritty.

It won't, lol.

I tried watching one or two GAC Christmas movies last season, but it was clear to me that they were written and produced for people who still believed in a white Christmas, if you know what I mean.

    • On that same note, it's astounding to have mobster Sonny in the same office with Mayor Laura chatting it up about their mutual grandson. Think about the reaction if John Gotti and Mayor Eric Adams had a friendship

?? I guess the Logic behind Sonny & Jason acceptance is like when i saw a documentary where FBI agents said they'd rather deal with the mafia than terrorists or cartels---they're the "lesser of 3 evils". Anyway I'm about 30 years late on this convo.
    • Im confused. Does Jessica know anything about June's relation to Tyrell? At the start of the episode, it seemed like June was gonna slip that he was her son but she caught herself but later in the episode she referred to him as "my boy" and Jessica had no reaction like that wasnt a surprise to her No, Anita was putting money in the account every 6 months but we werent told how much was in it when Leslie became a beneficiary. The show has set it up that it was multiplying based off the interest so that its really worth quite alot now. I dont buy it but thats what they've told us
    • What was the point in Lori's return as Mrs. Max Hollister? That little story never made much sense to me.  Were there plans for a permanent return? Or even a new family with her as the matriarch?
    • I guess it depends on your device.  I can watch CW shows via their website on my Windows PC.
    • Ooooo A Liam episode? I'll watch it later today. They sure are churning the daily episodes out early.

    • Welcome back, Shawn Douglas! It's been a while. It really is too bad that the writers don't really have an interest in the character because there are still a lot of ways that he can be used effectively on the canvas. He should have been a part of the 60th anniversary celebrations as well. If anything, just to represent Bo and Hope. And I'd much rather see Jada paired with him than possibly with Theo. But I enjoyed him getting caught up with Belle, and comforting her. I'm sure they'll find their way back to each other at some point but I do like them as divorced friends. I just hope we see it play out onscreen. Belle being a dick about Sami again was unnecessary though. And we finally saw Liam again!  I'm curious to see how this storyline is going to play out, and who's going to be weaved into it. He and Abe do work well together too. And we learned that he has a kid. Hopefully, we'll learn more about his character in the future. But I'm not really sure about Johnny and Chanel suddenly having problems with raising Trey. They've wanted a baby for so long, so I don't understand why this is even an issue. They should know by now what it's like to raise a baby. But I did enjoy Johnny's scenes with EJ, and that Johnny still hasn't refused to forgive him. This storyline was/is very clunky, but having the two of them be at odds is the right decision. There's so much story potential that can be drawn from that. As for Chad... there was no time for us to see his reunion with Will, but there's time for us to see him talking BS with Leo? I don't get it. And I don't get all this random dating app stuff either. Leo and Javi were boring af too. If we're forced to endure them, can they at least have some real conflict? The two of them losing the baby was the perfect opportunity for it.
