Where are all the Tracey lovers? C'mon guys, this is ALWAYS the number one post on the boards. I can't believe it wasn't the first non-administration post.

Let's get the all-mighty Tracey love going here. This place just doesn't feel right without this post being here. I may not have posted much in the previous threads, but all be damned if I didn't read every post and response religiously.

**Bowing down** Tracey Quartermaine, you are Queen.

I'd add Nancy Lee Grahn and Ric Hearst that list. If the show revolved around those six characters, I'd be watching everyday. My TV viewing life couldn't get any better than that.

Long live the Tracey Quartermaine love. May she finally get a storyline. I was going to say a storyline worthy of her magnificance, but at this point, I'm looking at baby steps. So please, for the love of everything holy, give the woman something to do.

Tracey is a incredible character. Huge range she has. I love her with Luke, they play off each other soooo well! I would love to see them have a good storyline. She was also incredible (and was robbed emmy nods) when Lila died and all the scenes after that.

    • Thank you for this detail.  I appreciate your work on all these stats.
    • That's somehow worse. Maggie was walking around with a check for one million dollars?

But, also, didn't she say she was hanging out there until Philip packs up and moves out?  Side note: Where's the staff to pack up Philip's belongings?
    • I just finished this epi as well. Tbf about Billy, he went to the club to work out in the gym when Phyllis made him sit and talk (and he fired her). Billy then went downstairs to work out, then came back up to sit at the bar. Just sayin', that's why he came back. And what is Tess doing sitting at the coffee shop all the time now? First she was doing a crossword puzzle. Next time she told Daniel she was scratching out some lyrics to a new song or some such. Why isn't she at home with her freaking daughter? Or at work at Society? Really, the coffee shop for Tess too?
    •   I think there have been claims that the show tried to get Lenore back after Roger's return, but it didn't happen.  There's an SOD from 1986 that mentions the show's plans to bring back Hope, probably with a recast. Instead, we got the new Bauers. I assume once they decided to bring back Alan-Michael a year later as being in his late teens they gave up as they would have seen her as too old, or they thought it would be too confusing for new viewers, especially with no plans to bring Mike back. And then Alan-Michael went way down the list for characters the show cared about. I think someone here years ago claimed that Elvera was fired because Gail Kobe wanted to show that anyone could go. Which, if true, is a joke given that Kobe ran many of the cast off anyway, and also makes me wonder if she just had it in for the Bauers as it's not as if Hope was a central heroine at that point. I remember Rick's Alan-Michael in the Bauer kitchen at times but I never felt like they were important to him - he spent most of his time hanging around Spaulding Enterprises and whining about not getting enough respect.  Robert Newman, IIRC, spoke of those scenes in later years and mentioned that Charita was not doing as well with her recovery as Bert was meant to be doing, which just impressed him even more at how she managed to play the scenes. That's a moving story, but it also speaks of how selfish the powers that be were at that time and how they clearly were ignoring signs they shouldn't have ignored. And then they didn't even bother to give her a proper sendoff. Sometimes I wonder how many viewers they lost for good over that farewell. Geoffrey Scott was a perfectly serviceable actor, but I don't think you can recast Billy. It's similar to Clint on OLTL. Jerry ver Dorn is one of my favorite soap actors of all time, but I never thought I was watching Clint when I saw him. There was something intrinsic to Jordan - his presence, his heart, his easy chemistry with those around him...even the way Scott tried to imitate Billy's accent grated on me. It didn't help that the show had had a slew of recasts in this period, none of them as strong as the previous portrayers - Scott was sort of a last straw.
    • Agreed. And the same for Will and Sonny too.  I’m hoping and praying that we don’t get a baby

    • And CBS renewed their coverage of these games till 2030 after their ratings came out in 2024, and they wouldn't do that if the ratings weren't strong and/or the $$ didn't come through for the games.
    • The demos for the final especially have been really strong, so definitely generates more ad dollars than a regular soap episode.

2025 year-to-date: 44 episodes monthly leaders: as of April 2025 (appearing episodes/total episodes, per month) directors + writers: pre-emptions: four total pre-emptions A very special thanks to @alexisfan07 for the double and triple checking of stats! A huge help that is much appreciated.
    • Maggie was dropping off her check from the auction.  She just ran into Julie while there.
    • also likely that the demo means the commercial $$ are higher than for a daytime soap.
