ROFL, that was worth the laugh. I remember when we all wore those oversized blazers - weren't doing ourselves any favours in the fashion world, to be sure. Jane learning the Macarena on stage was hilarious! I wonder what a person who wanted to be a Musical star things when they do that…...

But the saddest thing of all…. look how many shows were represented on that stage and how few there are now in just 15 years.

GOS of course, but this Serial Anon (SA) person is supposedly pretty accurate with some stuff--who knows I'm just bringing it over

Serial Anon

Anything on Tracy?

Do you know if this az marriage is legit or not or what the heck luke is doing playing along?

Will she be involved at all with anything else under RC?

Her wedding is not legit. The wedding was written by GW. RC is going to tweak it. Can't say how but he is.

She's got quite a bit coming up. She's an oldie. RC likes people with background on the show. The bigger the better. Tracy is one of those people. As is Monica and Luke. He's got stories for all of them coming up.

ms q!!!!!!- hey!. I'm good. I don't rememebr if I was working at the bank when last i saw you all (can't believe it's been that long) but that's what I do now. still trying to find an "art related' job. my cousin is an art director in ny and she's hiring me on projects when they are big enough for a team... but with the economy still being what it is it's the lastthing to buiold up, so right now it's just her. oh well! i'm looking around and applying like crazy, but not much news yet. if I don't find something soon I am gonna scrap it all and finally put in my app for the peace corps. My sister is getting married in Sept so it'll wait till after that- but that's the plan right now. If I don't go now I never will b/c i'll start having nieces and nephews, I have more cousins coming in the next year or so and my other sister's will be graduating from high school and college this summer- so i'll never be able to go. otherwise- it's pretty... not going to say calm, but it's uneventful at least.

glad to hear you're doing well!!

any other oldies on here? where are you guys? does anyone still use the chat at night?

Yeah, I see an insider said most of that was gutted because of RC's changes to the storyline. Also seeing that Tracy/AZ's wedding isn't legal - which I never thought it was. It's only a matter of finding out WHY it isn't legal (so many options in that one, and I'm hoping it's because Tracy was married to someone else). Less time with AZ and more time with Luke, and I'm good.

for the record, my mother's guess is that Luke fixed it so that Game Runna isn't really a priest... old story but still works I guess. This way anthony and tracy BOTH think it's legit, but I don't know. i'll have to see what goes on

Yah lainey

RC is new headwriter and Frank Valentini is new EP. Their squish name is Cartini! FV has been producing since Jan 9th after break.

Another friend told me that the Qs are going to have more story than they have had in years with GH going back to its roots . We shall see...cautiously optimistic but several have said That RC is a big fan of JE's work.

On another note: Looks like TG is not ready to hang up any acting hats...I just saw he was cast in a web series

The writing should improve:

OLTL scribe Scott Sickles joins the writing team of General Hospital!

General Hospital’s new head writer, Ron Carlivati has made an addition to his writing team. Former One Life to Live writer, Scott Sickles, (who worked with Carlivati in Llanview) will now also be writing the perils of the residents of Port Charles!

Most recently, Scott was responsible for the beautiful speech given by Viki (Erika Slezak) on One Life to Live’s second to last episode. The moving speech was about what soap operas are all about and how they connect with the audience and become part of our extended family. But the emotional impact of that speech and its eloquent words were so loved by fans of the genre that will be remembered forever.

Sickles announced his new GH gig on his facebook page today! Congrats from On-Air On-Soaps!

Well, as the saying goes about material, if you're going to steal, steal from the best.

I guess that goes for writing teams also. If you're going to incorporate them, incorporate the ones that have the goods. I just hope we get what was good about OLTL and not another hodge podge.

Nothing to write hope about today, two scenes are all I counted (but then again I was FF through them). Edward did seem to turn to Tracy at one point for agreement/approval, which I thought was a nice touch. But I don't care who you are, no father should refer to his daughter as "Lady" with that tone. Just…. yuck…..

Here is the Tracy preview from SID for sweeps (which is funny since Luke/tracy don't share anymore scenes for the entire month of sweeps!

How far is Luke willing to go to win back Tracy, assuming she wants to be won back?

Ethan wants to know why Holly's back and what she wants from him. Helena is up to her old tricks, which is part of the reason Holly returns. Cassadine craziness!

    • oh, definitely! It's too bad she hit the start of a rough transition period for the show. She shines, but she's stuck with bad story and some (if not exactly bad) not great co-stars.
    • Thanks. I'm glad we have some fan memories of these years as this is such a typically snide take on the genre. It's also poorly written and reminds me a great deal of the tedious "snark" recaps that became popular in the '90s. The end in particular. The 1979/80 stuff I have seen is much more polished than a number of soaps at the time. It was very easy to watch and not too bogged down in past story.  Margo is played by Ann Williams, who was on what seemed like every soap. I think she said Margo was her favorite role.  These episodes aren't consecutive, but if you ever have time, they are worth a watch. They are bits and pieces from January and April of 1979 - April in and out of prison, her past calling to her via her psychic powers (and the suicide of Miles' wife Denise, who had murder framing in mind). April 1979 has the end of Winter Austen (such a fantastic soap name).  I don't want to drop a ton of links but you can find playlists on Youtube.
    • And the rating 'wars' continue...hehe.
    • Well, it was fun while it lasted for Rebecca Herbst. Le sigh.
    • I am wholeheartedly enjoying this show. I just haven't been able to post as much as I used to. But yes, this episode needs to be submitted for the EMMYs and there needs to be wins. I better NOT see Y&R, DAYS, or B&B winning in categories over BTG. I feel like the only show that is giving BTG an ounce of competition this season is GH.
    • I never thought the day would come, but too much MM for me.
    • I think it may be that the character was brought in for a specific purpose and then became popular with viewers, and the show didn't know how to respond.  The choice to pivot away from Simon/India may show that you are right and they didn't care for her...although pairing them up may be another sign they didn't care for her. I don't connect well with this period but it does make me happy seeing some of these characters before the great purge and some of the surprises - I'd forgotten the wonderful Maureen O'Sullivan popped up to be bumped off. So typical of soaps by this point, but it doesn't grate as much as later on when Y&R would bring on any random cast member from Small Wonder. I'm also amazed at this time at just how much money the show must have had. The costumes for the Founder's celebration in summer 1984, or whatever it was, looked gorgeous.
    • Which officially started to feel that way today with them hearing each other out as they confronted each other at the same time.    Same. He was even catching himself when he was about to go overboard or do those tics that people don't seem to like. He failed a bit at the end, but he carried. It makes me think about a month back when it was discussed that the actor was better in other things he's been in. And I questioned then if that meant that he was playing Martin more intentionally. I questioned that briefly again today because he was giving.
