The Violet and Finn scenes were really touching and well done. I can’t believe I care about a Michael Easton character right now and now they’re writing him off for 3 months

Carly loves Michael Corinthos because he is her son. Carly loves Wiley Corinthos & Amelia Corinthos because they are her grandchildren. Carly loves Donna Corinthos because she is her daughter. Carly loves Willow Corinthos because she is her daughter-in-law. Carly loves Avery Corinthos because she grew to love Ava's little girl when she was married to Sonny, in the past. Carly does not love anything else Corinthos! Why do you fault her for loving these people?

Literally the first person I could find that would accept her and I would immediately speed away and change my name and number so they couldn't give Violet back.

Dumping Finn is great.  Keeping Violet because why?  We already have a million children on this show.  Not great.

Um hey thanks for spoiling it for me. I had no idea about any contracts so thanks know it all.

Sure ignore that Carly has been off and on with Sonny knowing who he is for the last 20+ years

. You knew exactly what I meant. She had 2 kids with him and then literally chose him to be the father of her first born over growing up as a Quartermaine. She’s literally in this mess for posing as the head of his organization. But yes let’s pretend to not understand.

You calling me petty names will not get you very far. If somehow you are now going to assert that you are spoiler-averse, ... whatever.

No, not ignoring her past but dealing with her present. Also dealing with facts. Carly didn't just on a whim, what the heck, why not, do what she did.

She went to that meeting because someone needed to. Jason was supposed to. But, he'd run off helping Britt & got himself injured & he was also not there, so he couldn't attend. Her family & all of Jason's kids were in real danger at the time, so she did what she does & stepped up & tried to do something she did not know if she could do it. If Jason had been where he was supposed to be, she would not be in this predicament & that is why he is motivated to try to take care of this soapy mess.

What was possibly miraculous is that she was good at it. And, it's not on the recording but she kidnapped Cyrus's mother & blew up a ship containing that dangerous drug Cyrus was pushing.

The little girl is marginally talented.  But it's very Kristen Alderson "I am going to build an entire teen scene around this girl" and do musical episodes vibes.  And to be fair to KA she was much more likeable as a child than Violet-even the actress's real life name Jophielle Love is grating.

Yes.  I think it varies on how much you like "precocious" kids, but there was a lot of lisping, singing, over the top antics like planning dates for Liz/Finn and writing songs and letters, wise beyond her years nonsense and just an overall annoyance level to me.  It was very much look how cute and talented she is and it always felt staged to promote the little girl actress.  I think she's been pretty okay with this plot point, but there was a lot of over the top pushing of this girl in the last year.

JL isn't a young KMC or JJ and FV isn't going to make that happen lol.

I liked young Ciara too.  Young Ciara was written as kind of a brat.  Violet is sunshine and light and all the things good.  So I am going to lean more towards NB's Spencer, but even he didn't annoy me this much.  Actually maybe he did.  Time heals all wounds.

    • I’m hoping to start getting to know Vernon better this month. He’s really only been a bunch of noble and good tropes so far. I don’t want him to be taken down the way Ted has been, but it seems he was a long-running Senator and no matter what party you are, lasting longer than twenty years means you’re looking out for you (and not who you’re supposed to be looking out for) most of all. I want to get to know both Vernon and Anita beyond their Dupree posturing. Clifton Davis can sleepwalk handling the kind of material Christopher Bernau and David Lewis handled and I’d like to see more than just a saint.
    • I thought Emily/Hal was a really interesting pairing. And I think KMH played that version of Emily very well! It might not have been what people wanted from Emily, and the writing got pretty gross at the end, but I thought she embodied that character effectively.
    • Don't know if this exactly fits here, but it is connected: Does this abandoned building look familiar? It is one of those explorer videos - and the outside may look VERY familiar if one watched GH in the '70s and '80s!

    • So, I have been in the hospital all week. I am close to being up to date on my soaps. Now I have to go to the Infusion Ctr daily to get IV antibiotics, for 6 weeks. I am frankly exhausted. A hospital is no place to be when you're sick. Hooked up to machines that go beep beep beep all day & night long. Someone wakes you up every hour on the hour for something, either to stick you with needles or to take your gosh-awful blood pressure for the umpteenth time. So, you don't get any sleep. Now I have a central line, upper right chest. After they "installed" it, I said, I am now Borg. They just stared at me. Apparently scifi is not general knowledge. What happened? I have an infection inside my big toe right foot & it burned the skin on my foot. The burned skin is already better. It was like a bad sunburn. The infection inside the toe is the issue. Oral antibiotics won't even get its attention. So, IV antibiotics plus time.

As Salem bids farewell to John Black on Monday, the "Days" family and fans say a final goodbye to Drake Hogestyn.   From his time as a young man playing baseball in the minor leagues for the New York Yankees to his almost four-decade run as John Black, Drake always did his best. And, while becoming a soap opera icon, he spent almost 40 years at "Days" telling the best stories and taking the younger cast under his wing to make sure they would do their best as well. Thank you, Drake, for the legacy you have left for everyone at "Days." The impact you made on the cast, crew and fans will never be forgotten...and that's a fact.
    • I found an interview with Joseph Breen (Will Jeffries) where he mentions that Reva was put in a coma so Zimmer could go to Hollywood to do a pilot (OMG, if ONLY it had been picked up, LOL) and that Sonni and Josh and Will became a popular with the audience while she was out of commission.  If you want to read the whole thing: https://www.authorsden.com/visit/viewarticle.asp?id=47394 Breen was known for being very candid in interviews, I wish I could find more of them. I seem to recall he made a couple of snarky comments about Zimmer, implying she was not above acting like a diva. Sounded to me like he had a lot of respect for Forbes (who went on to have a very strong and varied career after GL).
    • I was so confused why Devon was prying into Nicks love life and then it clicked and I remembered they’re brother-in-laws. Shows how little I pay attention to this show anymore. I was like uh? Do these two even know each other this well?
    • The Bell soaps, B&B and Y&R: cannot watch. If I went by the last time I did I would have to give them both D- but I really don't think it counts when you're not a daily watcher.  DAYS: B+ (Now this is with the knowledge that for years I have given this show a D- because I've been a fan for too long to give it the F it deserved.) GH: A+ (With Korte driving this bus to me the show is so much better! IMO we just had the best NB in so many years I cannot count!) BTG: A solid (Things I love, a few I do not, nothing I hate, still find it in general remarkable.) As always, thanks for doing this thread. I count it. I always look for it & I always post.
    • Okay, I continue to maintain that what is so good about this particular reveal followed by umbrella storyline is that you can see & understand many different points of view where there is not one bad guy or one 100% right person.  About your stated opinion, that Lois & Gloria did the right thing, you know that this was technically an illegal adoption? For it to have been legal the father, if known, would have to have been informed & have signed off on terminating his own paternal rights. And, of course, it is clear how many people they lied to.  Personally I feel like Lois is going to take the biggest "public" blame with Lulu a close second in the blame category. I am looking forward to a tongue lashing I hope Brook Lynn gives to Gloria. I continue to be more than annoyed with Dante. First his attitude toward Gio with regards to Rocco & a drinking game & its results. Second his attitude toward Lulu. Meanwhile enjoying the show every day!
    • Lois and Gloria did the right thing I feel knowing it was Camila that raised Gio has BL feeling some jealousy No one is saying that Camila was a bad mother to Gio I believe it will be Gio saying that Camila was great to him, thanking Lois and Gloria to get BL to see truth
